You hear Norton in that tune and wonder how MTB ever got along without him. While we're on the subject of harmonica, is Topper Price still around?
PastDreams,
If you send me a private e-mail, I'll send you a copy of the 3/15/99 show @ The Beacon Theater...
With an amazing version of "High Falls"...
I found some High Falls in Telluride, Colorado and Waterton Lakes Park while living in Pincher Creek, Alberta where the Canadian Mounties set up shop to stop the bootleggers from crossing the border and poising the First People..
(((((Thoughts, prayers, and healing vibes))))) to da' Dream Lady and her furry buddy Moon.
Look at kids, there "playin"us again...
Back from the hospital and a tad woozy with band aids all over my back.
Now, the vet tells me my Kitty, Moon needs a $400 sonogram because he suspects gastrointestinal lymphoma. God, it's always something.
I discovered Norton through Capn. Don't have much to say cept he was an exceptional talent. I don't know how I missed him along the road.
Glad to see the dust has settled here.
Kimberly - wondering if you've ever put together a website of your photos. I'm an old photo editor (35mm slides!) who appreciates a good eye. Usually people with cameras who love music as much as you have the ability to capture it pretty well. I'd love to see some of your stuff.
So, now I shall eat something before the pain meds kick in and I pass out. Oh, yeah and figure out how to pay for that sonogram AND get to the vet at 9AM. Could use a few prayers for my furry baby (I just saw you smile, Capn). 😉
I adopted a few soldiers thru the Adopt a Soldier program a few years back...
The rules were no Playboys or pictures od the "west gate" so I sent them some Maxim magazines, trail food, gatorade...because I know what it's like to suffer from "heat stroke"....
Capn,
I'd love a copy of the Toy Caldwell cdr, I saw Toy play with Dickey at MSG during a benefit concert? and they roared during "Southbound"
Those Were the Days

I mean go Predator's! the Rangers aren't going to win nothing without me working there...
AmyReagan when was your first ABB show?
My first ABB show was The One to One Benefit show at The Nassau Coliseum which was started by Geraldo Rivera and Doug Johnson was the M.C.
I also saw Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Led Zepp and the U2 Zoo T.V tours for free at MSG and the moslieum.
Go Rangers!
I'd like to trade for any Brother's and Sister's era shows...
The Brother's and Sister's album inspired me to start playing guitar! when I was in 9th grade 1974...I also took a trip to PAris that year and should have stayed there instead of living in New York 🙁
In Memories of Duane:
Now that AmyReagan isn't here to disturb our peace, I can recall two or three musicians who actually met Duane.
1) Dickey Betts at The Mulchaly Show in "Wantagh or some fuckin' place." 5/5/?, B.B. Kings %@&% and The Albany Egg Show. 🙂
2) Last year, I met a guitarist who was performing in a "Boston" tribute show on his way to Utica, told me a story of meeting Duane after a show at The Steel Pier...when the ABB set was done Duane hoped off stage to buy some ice cream and bought the guitarist a stawberry shake. This same guitarist also met Ronnie Van Zandt in Georgia.
3) I met Doug Grey, lead singer of Marshall Tucker before the show in Utica who I'm sure knew Duane. His road crew gave me and two friends free V.I.P.
passes for the show...
If anyone can recall when these shows were and on what these dates (need is Two Medicine Lake), I have a 3/15/99 show for trade.
I celebrated my 40th Birthday in Waterton Lakes International Peace Park that year...before 9/11 disturbed my peace...
Norton was like Brother Duane or Chuck Leavell in the respect that he was a sought after session player. Cool stuff Terry!!! 😎 Peach.
Bleeve Norton played some harp with MTB, too. The song, "Special Someone" comes to mind. Great tune. Those are no ordinary harmonicas you got, Capn.
so I send a thank you to Lisa, Norton's beautiful wife and this is the reply I get...
Terry, I am so pleased that you feel that way about Norton's treasures, but then I knew you would ... that's why I sent them....
Much love to you, L
Norton played with Honeyboy... so now they are jammin at that big gig in the sky...
Hey Nic, my Ohio man! I just received an email from FrankieB in Afghanistan and saw your transmissions in the mix! I have the pic of the missile going thru the bus into the tree one...damn...Sending you my love getting thru this health stuff going on...
Capn those are excellent presents that were bestowed upon you...very cool...love harmonicas! You will be a perfect care taker...
Still reminiscintly sad over missing David "Honeyboy" Edwards passing recently...I had the priviledge of calling him a friend, met him thru David Kramer a promoter/friend thru BB Kings that hired me many evenings as a photographer over the years...I have an excellent pic of Honeyboy and I from his 90th Birthday party at BB Kings...I brought him a Gateau Suisse french white and milk choc birthday cake and flowers that we gave to him on stage...good times for sure...he told me many stories that went down in the United States of America in the back woods and the old days...recently just lost another old friend, Cornell Dupree, he was good friends and fellow session player with Duane Allman. He also played backing alot of bands up like Aretha Franklin, etc. I met him thru Devon and Gregg Allman at a BB Kings show a couple of years back...in fact we became such good friends that Cornell invited David and I to join him as his guests at The Beacon for an Allman Brothers show backstage etc etc...I had the honor of watching young Derek Trucks ask Mr. Cornell Dupree sign his red guitar backstage and Derek just blushed and looked psyched and honored to have Cornell sign it...very cool indeed how humble we all are and how much we appreciate each other and the love in the house...beautiful thing...
Next show is Warren Haynes Band at Ridgefield PLayhouse in CT next Mon night...excellent band he put together and very excited to be in the house.
Later alligators, Kimberly
