I just watched a video of Dickey and Desiree Bassett ( facebook) from back in June... a show I was fortunate enough to have enjoyed with some great friends...
Point Is.. Dickey was at his finest... so, fellow dickheads, not to worry... he can still put on a remarkable performance....

TennKev... I hear you as well brother... I just am tired of the comparisons always going backwards... right now is all that really matters & I think Dickey is in a bad way & hope like hell that he can pull himself out... maybe one of the younger members of the band that is more computer savvy can show him some of the clips & that might open some internal dialogue.
As fans I don't think there is much we can do one way or another except support him by going to the few shows that crop up on the schedule. I will if he comes to the midwest.

Hey, Rick....I watched the "train wreck" video and I even thought that Betts was pretty awesome until the train wreck. But the thing about the train wreck is that the band is so awesome they followed Dickey and almost made it seamless. As one who, like you - although I'm sure you're a much better musician than I am - plays in a band which has an occasional train wreck, I know that it's not about the mistake, it's how you and your bandmates recover from it that counts. And depending upon your outlook, you can either get all bent out of shape at something less than perfection, or you can marvel at the professionalism, creativity, and spontneity of those who maneuvered so deftly around the mistake.
It's a state of mind. Sunny side up!

It's very sad one petulant, immature, selfish, spoiled rotten, little brat has to persist in making a complete nuisance of herself and distracting folks from what this site is all about.

Several observations:
-You write almost "man-like"....interesting, your choice of words, structure. I wonder if Amy is an Al.
-You follow a pattern that is very common with blue site lemmings, yet seen rather rarely here; you started by giving a negative opinion of Betts, however then proceed to insult and demean posters here. That tactic is very common and tolerated (unless it is a friend of Lana) over there, but not over here.
-The topic of rational argument relative to Betts has been centric to his perceived drinking. You are far more focused on that than, by contrast, say the man was displaying some health issue. My honest opinion is that (God forbid) if Betts had an underlying health issue you really would not care. Its all about the drinking that has you wrapped around the axle, but you cannot honestly admit it.
-You attack the loyality to Betts. Again, this is a very predictable blue site lemming thang that has gone on for years. We here....from bikers, housewives, lawyers, doctors, engineers, thugs, and neer-do-wells, all come here for something you sweetie simply CANNOT get your brain to comprehend. Its because you have never experienced it, and frankly, to tell you what its like would only piss you off because YOU cant get there, as evidenced by sampling that nectar ONCE and you will search it out for the rest of your days.
May I offer a suggestion? You should really make a decision about how you wish to be perceived here, assuming that you care. My opinion is your life cycle here is about to cycle thru, nevertheless you will get far more respect if you voice your opinions and move on to something else, WITHOUT little catty slings peppered in here and there. And yes, Im a master at it and could tear your ass out of the frame, but if Red Dog taught me anything, its a little walk away from the keyboard can do wonders.
