Amy, AL... No... Your "opinion" is not valid. It is only an opinion, and in your case, more akin to theories. Case in point: "Slur" "making shit up" You cannot and have not, VALIDATED anything, except, you discount the more reasonable and factual aspects (e.g. hurt finger) because such does not fit into your agenda. Which Ive maintained all along is your sore ass relative to drinking. THAT can be validated. I said before and say again, you could care less if Betts had any issue health wise, Im just sayin'. Im curious. You are a Betts fan, You are on the bus, one time, have 20 seconds in front of the man. Go....what exactly would you say to him???

whats wrong with changing the lyrics around a little bit when the feeling is there,is'nt that what improvising is all about! I want to hear Dickey Betts and Great Southern all the more, right now,hey Andy, let us know if y'all are playing in the next couple of months, thanks for the great music, the energy and the long shows,it does'nt get any better than DB&GS! Jaquelin and I saw Gregg perform in Cary back in April, good show,I happen to have a Dickey Betts pick in my pocket,we were 4th row center,at the end of the show we flicked that pic to gregg and said"gregg,a dickey pick,he lunged for it and the expression he gave and the look and smile on his face showed it was a good thing! Ya got to believe in believing!

Thanks for stopping by Andy. I Love your slide playing Brother!!!! Thanks for always taking time to chat when our paths have crossed. Last night on Letterman Sgt 1st Class Leroy Petry was a guest. He was recently award the Congressional Medal Of Honor. He is what Valor and Heroism are all about. Please take a monent to say a Prayer for our Servicemen, Servicewomen and their Families as they stand watch over our Great Nation. FrankieBootleg and Forrest Sibley are both in the heat of the battle in Afghanistan. May God watch over them and bring them both home safely. Capn is sending me the CD Frankie has requested. Thanks Terry!!!! I will include it in my next package to Frankie. He told me in an email recently they really like the cigarettes I send. It seems they can't get good American smokes there. I send Marlboros' as that is what I used to smoke back in the day. 😎 I hope you all have a Safe & Goodtime day. Peach.

Andy, thanks for jumping into this little dust up. Always thought Jessica would be a great opener and this one is great. What would we do without Rainy? Off to the vet. Of course, Moon seems to be eating more and is acting like his normal self. I have a feeling I am throwing 400 bucks to the wind but he's my BABY. Hey, it's only money. Y'all have a good day.

Morning all .. it has been raining for days.. dark , dank , wet ... depressing.. but on the brighter side.. Thanks to Andy for stopping by , always a treat to hear from someone in Great Southern and a real musician, not someone who thinks they are a musician.. The Show Andy commented on was at the Concert Hall NYC not this July last July and besides the fact of Dickey's injury it was the hottest day here in NYC.. and no air in the BLDG.. we were beyond uncomfortable and miserable.. Jim King was there and so was Lizzie and Capn.. myself, Kimberly and many many fans.. they suffered along , highs and lows.. for the fans.. Dickey was hurt and I remember him taking off the bandage and played with a raw finger ouch.. the band as always did a great job... Hoping this finds Nic well and a planned course of action to stay in good health.. Prayers to all who need them. My day off 🙂 Time for my second cup of coffee... missing Joseph and our talks.. this would have been a good long one.. I am sure he is shaking his head over all this... Have a wonderful day even if it is raining where you are.. right about it , is a Blue Sky.. Today is a gift, tomorrow is not promised and yesterday is gone... :dog:  :inlove:

How anyone could listen to the "Jessica" Rainy posted from Monday's show and say that it's "bad" is beyond me...and check the audience reaction at the end...all i can say that if you think that's bad playing, then listen to something else....

Amen brother Andy!!! This is why you are in the band! You are a stand up brother for setting the record straight! Thank you for your contributions here on GB and on the stage! My only gripe I have with Dickey is that I wish he would get his butt on over to Milwaukee and play some shows!!! :guitarist:

But Andy, with respect....Amy says she is a musician - a music teacher. Plus she paid $85. Are you expecting us to believe you over her??? Just because you're in the band and were on stage right next to Dickey Betts and were with him before and after the show? What credibility would your version of things have against hers, for heaven's sake? Lest anyone not see the tongue poking all the way through my cheek, I'm being facetious. Thanks for posting with us, Andy. I purchased one of your blues guitar instruction DVD's about 4 or 5 years ago and really like it. A great service and I thank you for providing it.

For the record, the "trainwreck" clip that Amy posted was from a night where Dickey started the show with a huge bandage on the ring finger of his fret hand, because he had worn the tip of it off from the previous shows that week. That's the fact. Any guitar player will tell you that it's very difficult to play when you've torn off the tip of your finger (used to happen to SRV all the time) and it's hard to play w a bandaged finger too. People spend way too much time looking for clues to one thing or another. The City Winery shows were very well received. The manager told me that the first show on Monday was one of the best shows he'd ever seen at the club. It was a great show.

Thanks, Kitty. It seems as if the past 5 years have been a test from God. I hope I get a passing grade. I "think" I'm doing pretty good. I'm just sneaking 1/2 cup of coffee and not a whole bottle of wine while I cook dinner. It's nice to be able to remember what I actually cooked for dinner and if it came out the way it should have!

Hey now, everybody. 😀 Looks like this place has simmered down a bit. That suits me just fine. Lizzie - love, prayers and good vibes comin' atcha. It looks like you and your pet are in need. That 1/2 cup of coffee will be OK. Many of us understand more than we say. I'm not an alcoholic or a recovering drug addict, but that doesn't mean I don't understand. I've lived with several in my life and it isn't an easy road. I have my own vices, so I have no room to talk. Just keep doing the best you can and spread good Karma and good music where ever you can. You're doin' OK. 😎 Capn - I was thrilled to read your post about receiving Norton's harmonicas! What a wonderful gift to a most sweet and wonderful brother - one of the first to reach out to me when I started posting on this site. "And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make." Rock on, my brother! :mohawk:
