BANANAMAN...I received your package yesterday...Thank You! 1 great show from a great time period! Being next to BM and many others on and off this site during all of the "horrible" shows that Dickey Betts has performed over the years makes life more inspiring...I will be there with anyone to a "horrible" Betts show anytime! BANANAMAN...A truer brother I do not know... Nice hearing from Andy...we love to hear from you here although do not feel obligated to defend that 1 show or any show please! AmyR when/where was the last really good Betts show you saw that you really liked? ...and how did it make you feel? Now let's see if AmyR has anything more substanative to add to this site other than her opinion of the one show that she is dwelling upon for days...Y'all have to admit it was entertaining at the beginning, but now it is just old. In short Rick ... isn't it the reflection off the earth's atmosphere ?? Simply put ??? anyone remember Hemlock.. ?? Got that same kinda charm, don't ya think ? Well, whatever the scientific reason for the Blue Sky... I love it.. I hope I have one today.. :sunny: And Rick, you asked a question on the GB about if said person had a couple of seconds in front of the man DB.. what would you say > I thought about it for a minute and thought that is a great question... so here is my answer... Simply put.. Thank you Dickey for all the years of my listening pleasure, all the joy and happiness your music introduced me too for the past 40 yrs. I am beyond words to express that gratitude and I am humbled, delighted to express that to you. Shaking his hand has left me speechless , because that is the hand thats attached to his heart and DB plays from his heart , not just his hands. Such simple words of Thanks seems a mere pittance of what he has given to me.. So for everyone, enjoy the music, don't look for the mistakes , we all make 'em everyday.. at home or at work.. Find the joy , embrace it.. Have Blue Sky day.. :dog:  :inlove:

Al, were you playing hookie the day they taught you science in school? The sky is CLEAR. Not blue. Actually, the coloring in the sky that you observe is a result of light rays being scattered by air and anything in it. The rays of light with the longer wavelengths, such as reds and yellows, tend to travel more easily through the atmosphere, while the rays with the shorter wavelengths, like blues and indigos, tend to be dispersed more easily. These more easily dispersed shorter light rays are what give the sky its blue color. The color emitted by the refraction of gasses in the atmosphere is what causes the sky to be the color it appears. The protective ozone layer which is thicker in some places than it is in others, reflects blue when exposed to the suns radiation. So ozone gas expressed as O3 is responsible in large part to the blue sky. The dust particles mentioned in the previous paragraph are responsible for the various hues and colors we see such as the red sunsets.

Andy - thanks for stopping by and setting things straight. 😎 Liz - keep on keepin' on. It's going to be OK. I think the report card is more about doing the best you can with what you've been given. Don't be quite so hard on yourself, nobody's perfect. Have you learned anything from your experiences? Have you grown as a person? Have you helped someone? Have you spread some love around and made people feel good or happy? Have you learned compassion for others? I'll bet you have. That's what counts. :wink2:
