Best wishes to Red Dog--and all in the operating room with him!
A mountain of prayers of the deepest kind are being sent to Red Dog , Joseph. We are all around him to support him.
Bluedad what a lovely and informative post about him , Thanks for all the details... I love details..
Please keep us updated as soon as you can. If you believe in God now is a good time to call on his mighty hand. That goes for many here who are suffering and need the help and guidance. May we all find our way.
Spent the afternoon with RedDog at the VA Hospital in Augusta, GA and he is in very good spirits.....
Thought I should make a post here so everyone would know what's going on.
Kirk West drove him in this morning from Macon. Took a long time for him to get a room. The VA Hospital in Augusta, GA is a great place having other hospitals nearby to share knowledge. the Medical College of GA is next door and is a great research facility. The doctors go from one hospital to the other. If you need medical treatment, the Augusta, GA area is one of the best places to be in this country.
Shared a nice lunch with BDOB and Kirk and then we went back to the hospital. By that time RedDog was in a room.
They took some blood from him and some X-Rays. The anesthesiologist and doctor's came in and in detail told him what they were going to do tommorrow.
RedDog will be in surgery starting at 8AM. He is the first person in surgery in the morning and I'm sure the 8AM time frame is real close. He will be in surgery for at least 5 hours. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers in the AM. He will be in the hospital for at least 5 days.
Again he is in good spirits. there is a young nurse there that is cute as a button and he was being RedDog and I of course chimed in. She is a very sweet person and can take and give a lot of ribbing!! She will be looking after him......
Thanks to BDOB and Wayne for the visit.
We will be checking in on him tomorrow afternoon if just to touch him. He will likely be in intensive care, but we will go anyway.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the the RedDog fund.
See ya'll tommorrow evening.....
Me, Bluedad and Wayne spent some time with Red Dog at the Downtown Augusta VA. He's all set for an 8AM surgery. The doc's came by earlier and gave him a rundown of what will take place during surgery. The doc was very thorough in his explanation. This is a five hour procedure, so at 8AM, through 1PM, at least, please send all your prayers, good thoughts and positive energy to Red Dog, his surgical team and the nursing staff, some of whom have already been exposed to Red Dog's charm and wit. 😎 I would expect tomorrow will be a rough day for Auggie, so please, no calls to his room. He'll be out of it from pain meds and he's not sure about how well he'll be able to verbally communicate so soon after his surgery. Red Dog knows how many folks here, and at the blue site, have his back, and he thanks you all from the bottom of his heart. Shout out to RD's driver, The Tour Mystic. It was good to see you, brother. Peace out...
This is somewhat an excuse, and there is no denying Auburn opened a can of whoop a$$ on the Gamecocks, but that was the week after Kenny McKinley who was close friends with many of our players and one of the most popular of our alumni, tragicly took his own life. Our players played a good game but I don't think any of us were rip snortin' ready to go play football that day. It was a devastating blow. In addition, that same week another of our player's, C C Whitlock, brother was killed and another player had lost his father. Sometimes those kinds of things just take away a little of that killer instinct and cause players to be a little more introspective.
Rick, I don't know, man....it might be a good idea to switch over to decaf for a while.... Actually, though, I used to let stuff like that get to me and over time that impatience seems to have been lifted from me to a large extent. There's always plenty to say grace over, I guess. Plus it's seeming more and more implausible to project my perfection on to anybody else because there ain't none....lol
Nic and RedDog - blessings be with you. Faith now and courage.
(((FINALLY))))
geesh, for some reason my computer or the site wouldnt let me post on here (dang)

Ghandi, I'm still rolling over your post. We both have a long lineage in this state and if we ever sat down for 15 minutes would figure out how we're related. As most folks know, the only reason South Carolina isn't the imperial ruler of the world is the fact that during our illustrious history we got a little too interbred. I'm probably somebody's dog's cousin somewhere or other.
Yes, Rick, Auburn whipped us fair and square and McElroy told Stephen Garcia that he'd see us again in the SECCG but I kind of hope we see Auburn again. It would be a whale of a game, I think. Acyually, if pigs really do fly and we wind up in the Championship Game, I don't care who we play - I'll be too busy getting ready for the Apocalypse.
Sending love and big hugs to Red Dog and to be peace with yourself tomorrow...and begin the healing...
We are waiting for you right here when you get back on your feet!
Love, Kimberly
P.S. Rainy thanks for saving me on the 70 thing...nothing like me adding a few years on...maybe because then it makes me younger then LOL...
Thinking of our Red Dog today and sending love and good vibes for tomorrow. :dog:
Nic - sending the love to you as well.
More good vibes for Liz and her sweet kitties.
Peace good vibes to our DB family.

Keeping Red Dog in my thoughts today.
Mitch

Congratulations to Pintobean, JK and all the USC Gamecock fans!!! You all are tough as nails and I hope you all rejoice and savor your great victory!!!!!
Piqua lost to Troy this past Friday but High School Football is what makes all us football fans Dreams come true. It is the best $$$ a fan will ever spend watching High School Football on Friday night. Go Indians!!!
We have been so blessed here in Piqua with Football. Hell, we built a 3 million $$$ plus new stadium in 1999 and just added a new $600,000 artifical turf at no cost to the taxpayers!!! If we can make a difference in a few kids lives it is well worth it. We can boost we have a Piqua Grad now as a starting running back for the Ohio State Buckeyes. # 3 Brandon Saine is a Piqua Graduate and another Mr Ohio Football receipient. Thank God for High School Football!!!
I hope you all have a Safe and Goodtime week. Go Buckeyes!!!! Peach.
Well said, Rick! Rolla holla doowah! and yabba dabba doo, too...
Spurrier is no joke, and obviously can win the big game.
Since Auburn beat SC, I guess Im a pretty happy man right now.
Big case of shut up handed over to dem Tuscaloosa rednecks. Heh...zippity dooh dah.
Ghandi, these folks don't know what it's like for us down here in Sowf Cackalacki when it comes to football. We only care about college football. We don't like the Charlotte North Carolina Panthers and the schools in that state don't know anything about sports with oblong shaped balls. It's pretty much just South Carolina Gamecock University and the PHLEGMson Taters here. Nevertheless, of all fans in the universe the folks from Ohio State should know that our Gamecocks and even the Taters are pretty capable of dishing out a good old fashioned butt whoopin' from time to time. The Taters whooped 'em in a bowl game that got Woody Hayes so mad he struck a tater player and got himself fired. And the Lou Holtz Gamecocks managed to beat 'em two consecutive New Years Days. Now I don't deny that devine intervention played into this - God is afterall a Gamecock fan - but we put the leather on those elephants the other day and it was no fluke.
