I'm glad the Mrs. is getting better. If you've made it 33 years, chances of axe murdering each other (and I'm sure she's considered it too!) are slim. Maybe it's time to put away the hatchet. You got one of Karen's necklaces? If not, maybe you should get one! LOL. My pain is a little less today because I finally relented and started taking the time release narcotic my doctor has been pushing for. I may get addicted and have to detox at some point but they DON'T make me high. Can't go there. Now, lemon pound cake - that can make me high but there's no detox! Love to Red Dog, Mrs. Pintobean, Nic and Marley today and to everyone else in this brotherhood.

PD, it's taking a while for this ecoli to run it's course, but today her fever was the lowest in over a week. Last Sunday I had to go out of town for some business and she called and said her fever had spiked up to 104.7. YIKES!!! I called my neighbor and he took her to the ER and I came racing back to meet her at the hospital. Her fever had been between 101 and 102 for the two preceding days. After interveinous antibiotics in the ER they released her and gave us a prescription to take at home and said if it wasn't any better the next night to call back. The next night her fever started spiking up again. I called the ER twice and waited THREE FREAKING HOURS for them to return my call so I finally just took her back to the ER and they gave her a CT scan which showed kidney and bladder infection and later we found out ecoli bacteria. So they kept her on an antibiotic drip until 2:00pm the next day in the ER. I've been watching her like a hawk since then. That stuff is scary. So it's day by day so far but I think she's turned the corner on it very slightly. We've been married 33 years this Nov 11. I think most of that time I've never realized how much I love her. Coincidently, much of that time I often considered being an axe murderer....only reason I didn't is because I was too afraid of her....lol There's no point in that now. We're grandparents.

Hey PB - don't ever hesitate to tell us what's going on. I hope your wife is feeling better. I can't imagine. Any idea where it came from? Able to picture Red Dog lying comfortably numb and resting. Sweet. :dog:

I guess I should mention that my wife came down with an ecoli bacterial infection last Friday night and I had to take her to the ER Sunday night and again on Monday night because the infection had stread to her kidneys and she had an abcess spot on one of them. She's been so sick and weak all the week and I've been trying to take care of her as best I can. Today I think she turned the corner a little bit. She hasn't had any fever but her stomach is still churning and very tender. I didn't want to detract from RedDog and Nic who are facing some more dangerous demons so I didn't say anything but this has been a very trying week. Coming to this guestbook and seeing the concern expressed for the sick people here was my greatest solace. What a wonderful bunch of kind and caring people we have around here. Love is everywhere!

RedDog looked and seemed to feel better today than he did yesterday, still sleeping a lot. We talked some, told him everyone is thinking of him. Did not stay too long as I know the rest does him good. I spoke with the nurse before I left and he is scheduled to be moved upstairs today to a recovery room but right now all of the beds are filled in that area. As soon as someone is discharged he will be able to leave ICU. Hopefully this afternoon.

I am going to see RedDog at lunch, hopefully he will be leaving ICU today and back to a regular room. I sat with him for around 45 minutes after work yesterday, we talked a little, but mostly he slept. He was joking around with the nurse, Jessica, when he was awake. A good sign! If he moves to another floor, I will give everyone an update later today.

Life seems so full of suffering, pain, indecision, confusion....I have to keep reminding myself to PRAY through this stuff and send love to those in need. Love to Red Dog today and everyday. I've got my own pain issues popping up bad. MRI on Tuesday. On pain medication. Life goes on even if we get older and sicker. Have a Blue Sky day everyone. Remember, we're still here and when we're not, there's a better place awaiting in the sky, lord, in the sky.

Checked on Red Dog this evening and sat with him for an hour or so. He was resting comfortably and woke up for a short spell and we rapped a little. I told him everyone is asking about him and praying for him. He spent most of the time sleeping so I let him sleep. He should get out of ICU and go to a regular room sometime tomorrow. He's still pretty heavily sedated, but he's hangin' in there pretty good. Every day gets a little better. 😎 I'm headed out of town tomorrow afternoon for TN and won't get back til Sunday afternoon, but RD's brother, RC, is planning to come visit tomorrow, and Wayne will be around this weekend. I'll check in on him Sunday after I return from TN.

Great news about Red Dog. Hope he is resting now, and that they keep his pain well under control. As for the international feel good story in Chile, all I can say is : Chi Chi Chi, Le Le Le, Los Mineros de Chile! Bless everyone who made it happen. Mitch

It's a blessing Red Dog went to Augusta where his brothers will be there for him. Dave and John are two very special guys and I love you soooo much. Prayers for our brother Augie this morning. It's gonna be a journey but I keep picturing this crowd in the waiting room and it makes me smile. Hope you're hanging in Rainy  my special lady friend.

Well, it's a new day... I pray Red Dog had a peaceful night... that was a very hard surgery and hopefully today he will start to feel better, although it may take a couple of days. he is strong and he has now begun his real battle... lets hope and pray some more that he continues to have faith , courage , and we will support him through this ordeal. :dog: Thanks again for updates... we are still here, waiting to hear more.
