Good Old Sunday morning..
The guest book is very interesting and fun reading.., we just need some of the old timers to get back on board here and we would have an even bigger love family...
Well, I have been thinking about the rescue of the Chilean miners and how wonderful and what a miracle that was..
But it also reminded me of the Ruby Team that had crashed on the Andes mountain in Oct 72' I had read that book "Alive" when it first came out and cried for a week afterwards, it moved me so much that a human could endure the worst of circumstances, that were so unbelievable. When they made this movie over 25 yrs later.. I had refused to see it, i remember the horrors they went through and thought how could they translate that in a movie,, well, I finally saw yrs later and was touched once again , now in how they captured what these very brave people had to endure..
Here is a clip which to me, was the best part of their experience and translated into the screen version.
It is beyond inspiring and all else is so small in comparison... As they Nano i think expressed it... I t was a Grand experience..
Jimbo, thank heaven you can still put on the garnet colored glasses, my friend. However, I can't pretend to see the Emporer's new clothes when his stupidity is barenaked for everyone across the whole freaking USA to see. That was the single stupidest thing I have ever seen in any football game on any level I have ever seen or been involved with. I'm starting the Gamecock Tea Party and I'm ready for regime change. I don't want to see something that stupid ever take place again to our football team. The players deserve better and we FANS deserve a lot better than that. We have to sit there and watch Spurrier rake those players over the coals and throw his headgear all over the place when they make mistakes and then who turns around and throws away our last timeout and let's the ball get thrown up for grabs in the end zone when all we had to do was make a chipshot field goal to send the game to OT?
Jim, I love Spurrier. You couldn't find a remark I have ever made against him, although privately I've had my doubts about him for the last 4 years. But this incident is the straw... This was unforgettably and unforgivably stupid. He is simply not competent to coach our football team anymore. It's tough but coaching is a tough business and one that is purely results oriented. He is simply coaching us DOWN. We have a talented team which he has coached DOWN for the last several years. How else can the losses to Connecticut and Kentucky be explained? As far as the Alabama game, after tonight I wish it had never happened. Oh well, guess I ought to say how I really feel, eh? lol
I'd like to meet you, too, JK! If I commit hari kari over this football game it won't happen, though. Are we going to blow this?
Ghandi, it hasn't been an easy ride, but no question I feel blessed. What blows my mind are my kids. Trust me, when I was young I was hell on wheels. Got quite a reputation for being way out of control. My son is 26 and married with 2 kids and another on the way and he works for T Rowe Price Securities and my daughter is a "Youngster" (sophmore) at the US Naval Academy. There is no way anyone who knew me a long time ago could have foreseen this. When I think of how I've been blessed it is so HUMBLING because I know there is NO WAY in you-know-where that I am responsible for it. But it sure has been nice to be along for the ride!
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and Ghandi, let me assure you that my wife is more like my better 7/8's than my better half. Now that I think of it, 33 years of putting up with me I'm suprprised SHE didn't turn into an axe murderer.... 😮
Lizzie.. I am sorry I haven't returned call... yet... but I will... promise.
Adam.. although you have never acknowledged my post about spam and solicitors in the Forum... I am here to tell you.. they are there again.., promoting all there endeavors..,. how lucky for us, huh ?? and on a well respected , guitar playing hero site... love it :winky:
The ability to edit on the GB has been out for quite a while, actually.
Rainy, I'm not holding my breath anymore. All I can do is send you love and hope you are well.
edit button on the blink 😮
Wanted to add.. Kimberly I hope you had a great time seeing the Radiators at Mexicali Blues in Teaneck... 🙂
Good Morning,
WOW, Pinto that sounds like a bad time for you and the Mrs. I am happy they found it and made the correct diagnosis, actually you sound like a very good husband with love and care.. It is a long time together of 33 yrs and you are each others best friend.. I will keep her in my prayer thoughts and hope for a very speedy recovery. Hang in there PB.
Hoping and praying everyday for Red Dog :dog: After this weeks surgery I pray he will have a more optimistic outlook on his battle with this cancer, and to keep the fight going. To be positive for another day. Nothing worth it in life is easy, there are many mountains to climb for each of us..This is his.,. and I know he can do it.
Also Nic, you have my prayers as well.. I keep an open prayer going since I read all about your health issues awhile back,. You have come a long way , from the leg issues and to your current health problems.. But, it is on a positive note and outlook that you stay on track and healthy and if prayers and well wishes count.., then you are well covered..
Thanks Ed for the Rock and Roll Fantasy link... I haven't clicked on it yet, but I am thinking it is about DB contributing time to this project.. He has been involved now for a couple yrs , on other levels , playing with amateur guitar players.. Dickey has a heart..
Not sure if Red Dog mentioned it on here or not, but I will now... DB had called Joseph the first week after his original diagnosis, they had a really nice chat and Joseph was very happy. I hope he and Donna check in with him again soon.
Lizzie thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and mentioning me, it never goes unnoticed... hope the kitties are doing better, and you take care of yourself.. it is good to take the medication, but better when you know when to stop.. I will keep you in my thoughts..
Jim King , that is a lovely gesture , giving your necklace to Joseph, it will mean alot to him, but he may not take it.. have a safe trip over and give him all our love and tell him we miss him like crazy here... Thanks..
Happy Saturday to all 🙂
