Hey everyone! Just picked up the latest edition of Hittin' The Note magazine and there is a nice article in there about Dickey. It was an interview Kirk West did a number of years ago with Dickey recalling his early days before the ABB...It was a nice read and I even learned a couple things that I did not know! Always cool when that happens.. 😀 Hope you all are having a good weekend! Hope :dog: is doing well and also brother TennKev...

URGENT! Just heard on the news that the state of Florida could be sunned-in for the next several days. Residents have been urged to hunker down at your nearest beach and/or tiki bar for further instructions. Use extreme caution when braving this blizzard of sunshine, preferably SPF30. We are asking our friends and relatives up north to please keep us in their thoughts as we deal with 2 feet buried in the sand! ()

Good Afternoon Brothers and Sisters, Rainy here today on the island of Manhattan. Was it only a week ago that DBGS rode into town and brought the house down? Sure had that "special feeling", walking home in the snow that night...ya know like just for awhile the world is good and you are right where you should be. Thanks to Dickey Betts and his band! Last time that happened w/DBGS was after the Tarreytown show on 3/10/09. Great venue! I remember the date because it was Andy's birthday and Dickey surprised Andy by announcing it to the crowd. Have a good one next month Andy! Someone here said Andy anchored the band last Saturday. I agree, big time. Sure wish I could catch one of the shows in a couple weeks but it ain't going to happen. Sweet thoughts from NYC to Red Dog. safe travels, Kevin B "Dickey?......Dickey Betts is as bad as bad can be." Duane Allman, radio interview 1971

Hey Now!! There is a heaving snow falling this morning with absolutely no wind. It reminds me of a line in the song "Carolina" by Charlie Daniels. "and goosefeather snow flakes in the gray morning light" 😎 I hope you all have a Safe & Goodtime weekend. Peach.

Hey Kitty! Glad you made it through OK. I guess the bullseye of the storm hit just a few miles south of where I live so we got the worst of it. I helped out the neighbor next store because she had drifts over 6 feet in her drive-way. She lost her husband about 2 years ago so it is just her and her 12 year old daughter. It took 4 of us about an hour (two with snow blowers and 2 with shovels) to clear it out. She was so thankful that she bought us pizza for dinner which so very nice of her... I had off again from school today because my instructor canceled the class. That worked out well for me since I was able to take my truck in for some much needed repairs....Wasn't too pleased about how much it will cost... But, what can you do... Hope everyone else made it through the storm and are staying warm.

Good Morning Bro's and Sis's, Yeah, I was wondering what Dickey was saying up there. They are funny commercials, I like the one where he ask..."Was Honest Abe honest"? Then a grainy clip of Mary Todd Lincoln runs where she ask Abe if her dress makes her look fat...look it up. By the way i got an email from ticketcrapster wanting to know if I would review the show from saturday so I went ahead and posted one. There are others, just go to the web site run a search on DBGS and read some or post one of your own. it might help to fill the houses for the Feb. runs. Looking again at my notes from Sat. After the 1st set some guy wanted Dickey to sign a confederate flag, Dickey said a few words but declined to sign it. I was hoping he said something like..."Sorry sonny, the Civil war ended a long time ago and it wasn't pretty but why don't you ask my drummer James to sign it then come back and tell me how it went." Which got me to thinking..as we all know Dickey has never fully embraced the "Southern Rock" thing, he's too good to be labeled to one genre and I have always thought of Dickey Betts as more of a Floridian than a southerner. No offense to our brothers and sisters in the south but Florida IS different and I think it made a lot of difference in the evolution of Dickey's mentality and sensibilitys not to mention musical taste. Just a thought... Also it is very cool that Dickey gives up and comers like Luke M a chance to shine. Safe travels, Kevin B
