Liz and Rainy... or as Augie would say:
Dream Lady and Rain Lady, TWO BEAUTIFUL SOULS... well said both posts.
Dickey shows his Character and Brotherhood every day by saying nothing and acting like the true gentleman he is... (actions speak louder than words)... e.g. TT
he lives HIS life and forgives those who trespass against him
When Gregory ratted out Scooter to save his own ass, Dickey once said he would never play again with Gregg, but he showed class and brotherhood by forgiving Gregg and keeping the love alive, result: ABB lived on until May 2000
Claude (rhymes with fraud)it seems, is obsessed (defensive) with profits from Beacon/Wannee/Moogis and
"any publicity in the Entertainment INDUSTRY is good"
FRB is Genuine Since 69

Rainy, That was a great post. Me, too. I'm over it.
It was a great ride most of the time. I intend to focus on that.
I was happy to read that Dickey popped in on Tony Tyler. Sure that was one of Tony's biggest and best surprises ever. That's what I like the most - hearing about people and their joys.
Life is too short to focus on the bad stuff and while it happens, we have each other to lean on.
Have a blue sky Sunday.
Love ya Rain Lady.
Good Old Sunday morning.. :sunny:
Congratulations Nic and Pam and to your daughter and new son in law.. On their Wedding , a very happy day for sure.. Pictures Please 🙂
Hope everyone is well and grooving to a slow and easy Sunday..
Well, Blackey.. that again about sums it up... about Brother Gregg and Butch... the only one is Jaimoe..who stands true , I suspect.. and he has shown his love for Joseph and respect for DB..
The way they ( Gregg and Butch ) conducted themselves in the public forum's , radio, interviews, TV, etc... has been a window into who they are as professionals and men.. what to say and what not say .. it is hard to really criticize Gregg on this one,, he was asked a question and just stated "I don't think so'.. with a chuckle. The interviewer said I 'll take that as a NO, Gregg made no correction
When I first came on both sites..many, many fans attributed what happened to these men as musicians as to what can happen when a marriage goes BAD... you lose sight of the person you fell in love with in the first place, as you begin to fall out of love, their bad habits, bad personality traits all become the focus of what you don't like about the person..
I argued this..for a long time.. but the reality is... it is what it is...
But, to undermine DB's worth is lower than pond scum... I don't get that... it's where professionalism SHOULD take over your personal feelings.. somehow that southern charm has not held up , or the idealism of the brotherhood.,.
I, for one..am over it.. I could care less if they all played again together.. I have lived it in my mind and the emotional feelings I had about that were overwhelming at the thought of them being on stage again.., So , after all the negative words were said about DB..I no longer care for them to share that stage with Betts...
Not saying it wouldn't be the climatic end for all to see... and to be a witness too..
For now Oh Well...
:waving:
oh and yeah I know ..blah , blah... rainy's mouth is going again...
I will zip it up... 😮

Hey Nic,even better the having a few beers with Dickey on the tour bus?
Yes congradulations Nic and family!! Gregg Allman's Low Country Blues album is very good. I like it. I listened to an interview with Gregg last night and the lady doing the interview allowed people to call in with questions. Gregg said that if the songs selection was right, he would be interested in doing " a country album" in the future!!
On the down side, one caller asked Gregg to talk about the events surrounding the death of his brother in 1973. Gregg said "It was in 1971 and let's talk about music man". The radio station host then asked the called for another question. He said "Okay, is there a chance that you would play again with Mr. Dickey Betts?" And the radio station host said "Dickey Betts. According to what I have here, Dickey Betts is the founding member of the Allman Brothers Band". Gregg said "He is ONE of the founding members" The lady then said "Would you play with him again?" and Gregg said after some laughter "I don't think so" and the lady, the radio station host said "that is a NO?". Gregg made no additional comment so she took another call.
Well Gregg Allman continues to be negative about Dickey but he doesn't resort to all the negative specifics that Butch Trucks continues to do. JamBand magazine said on April 1st that Butch has promised that after 2012 he will stop the Dickey bashing. But I think it was an April Fools Joke from Jam Band magazine. But it does tell you that the people at that magazine have noticed that 10 years AFTER Butch and Gregg "faxed" Dickey out of the band, that Butch continues to trash Dickey in interviews.
The more I think about it, I'm not sure what to say about that anymore.!!!! When it comes to Dickey, Butch and Gregg, it seems to me, are being complete ASS HOLES!! Is that how Duane would have done it? I don't think so. Gregg and Butch continue to make it clear that Dickey Betts is no longer a brother or a person they would even want to share a stage with in any situation. Butch Trucks is one of my favorite musicians and Dickey, since his firing, has said Butch is a great drummer and exactly what the band needed when they added him to the lineup. Dickey also has said positive things about Gregg's talent and how "we could all tell when Gregg showed up that he was what was missing in our band".
I'm now at a loss to understand why Gregg and Butch continue to act as if Dickey Betts is some kind of infection they finally found a cure for. It is really sad and makes it difficult for me to even play my copy of Low Country Blues. I'm tempted to throw it in the trash can today.
I recenlty wrote F*** Butch Trucks and now I feel like saying the same to Gregg.
I wondered when they toured the Big House when they museum opened if when they saw all the old pictures and stuff and Dickey Betts was a big part of all that and they saw his pictures etc with the band, if they actually missed him or wished that he would have been there and joined them and Jaimoe (Gregg, Butch, Jaimoe cut the ribbon at the opening and Red Dog showed up uninvited if you remember) for the offical grand opening and dedication. They must have reflected on the loss of Duane and Berry, but now I'm thinking that when he came to Dickey, and seeing his picture and old equipment etc, that it made them feel sick and angry.
I just don't get it anymore. There is trememdous "bad blood" for Dickey from Gregg and Butch and it seems it will never ease up before one of them passes on to join Red Dog, Twiggs, Joe Dan, Duane, Berry, Larmar and Woody.
What in the world could it be that causes Butch in particular and it now seems clear Gregg too, to continue all this bitterness toward Dickey? He didn't run off with one of their wives or cheat them out of a lot of money did he?
Wishing everyone a Good ol Sunday Morning including "prayers for those Under the Weather and Over the Rainbow"
Early morning Sunshine here...
tells me all I that need to know

Hey everybody. :waving: Just dropping by to check on what everyone has been up to. I've been so damn busy at work I can hardly turn around. Not complaining too loudly. I just got a badly needed 2% raise, and being really busy is the best job security there is. Hope it lasts.
Sending love and good vibes to all. Hoping to have a very low key weekend and relax a bit, put on some beautiful Dickey Betts music and enjoy. 😀
I love Gregg's latest studio release, Low Country Blues :clapping:
Wonder if Butch has told Gregg that there will be none of the country stuff in his Allman Brothers Band?
Singing While I'm :walk:
Have a great weekend...heading to the French Quarter Festival
Au Revoir
Charlie Daniels loves Dickey even more then me!
