R A I N Y - you still have time to change your mind. If you don't make it to the homeland this time, chances are you never will. You'll be well taken care of and all those places you've read about will become real.
On the other hand, reality never really lives up to fantasy and a hefty plate of fried chicken, greens, and black eyed peas washed down with some sweet tea will make your tummy happy til you stand up and realize your jeans are much too tight and you need a nap.
Whatever choice you make will be the right one. There are spirits all over town (ask Luke and Gina) that you might or might not want to run in to but it's quiet at Rose Hill, mostly, cept when you look up on the hillside and think you see two skinny young men looking down at ya.
The yellow pollen glitters, by the way.
You will be greatly missed by a couple hundred folks, especially me.
Good to see Dickey out of retirement... Don't forget about us folks in the midwest... 🙂

Hey now Brothers and Sisters,
Well..... then lets all keep dreaming, maybe if we visualize it( Gregg and Dickey hitting the road together), it will happen. As long as they are both in this world it could happen, lets hope it does! KLBazur
To klbazur, we all have that dream!

Hey Now!! Thanks for all the well wishes. I am at Lake Erie and it is raining and windy. We had to scrape ice as the boat was covered yesterday. I did catch my first Walleye of 2011 yesterday. It is good to be here.
I will not have any testing for a while as it has to be scheduled. Not sure I am going to proceed down this metals route due to the expense and what there is to gain?
I do wish Dickey and Gregg would do something together. I listened to Gregg's LCB yesterday. It is an excellent blues project.
I hope you all have a Safe and Goodtime week. Prayers for Amy. Peach

Yes, it would be very cool to hear Gregg and Dickey again...just might happen someday...a little acoustic show...maybe something bluesy...I did go to the cd Release Party at the Bowery Ballroom for Gregg's new cd Low Country Blues, it is excellent, the show was excellent and sweet Warren Haynes showed up to play as he is also on the album...one of these days Dickey will come on out and play too! All will be revealed...he-he-he!
Sending love to Luke's family and sweet Nic in Ohio, and especially to FrankieBootleg.
I sent him a surprise box filled with 60 DVD's (our local Blockbuster is going out of business and had a close out sale), 5 CDs of Grateful Dead at MSG in NYC back in 1971, 3 Tshirts, 3 pairs of white sox (I heard the guys like new sox as sand is always getting in them) tolietries (travel size toothpaste&brush, foot powder, moisturizer as the climate is tough on the skin, and chapstick, etc. I hope he digs it as he was kind to send me a beautiful embroidered bag with a camel on the front and he recently sent me a gift of three black hand-enbroidered scarves, really sweet of him directly from Afghanistan!
I will post his address here later today if any of you would love to drop him a line, as he is losing his happiness over there for real...
Hey Rainy girl, how are you doing? I am doing great and coming around...
thanks for the get well wishes, I sure appreciated all the good healing vibes my way and know they worked.
Later Gaters, Kimberly
Great read KevinB. Thanks for sharin' that one. That is a damn nice dream indeed Bro.
Hoping everyone out there is doing ok.
Stormy Monday in NY. Hard to get going but blessings abound and not going to work would be ungrateful.
Have a grateful day today; grateful for all the good things you have and tolerant of all the tough stuff. You don't usually need more than you have, anyway.
Peach.
Good evening Brothers and Sisters,
Greetings from NYC. Man, what a great post by Blackey....I too tried to see the ABB w/out Dickey but it just didn't work for reasons more or less like Blackey wrote. I wish Gregg all the best and glad his health is good. I still think deep down Gregg has a soft spot in his heart for DB. I remember when Gregg had his meltdown in the fall of 1996, Dickey went out to California to visit him. Later that year on Dec. 26th I had the pleasure of seeing Gregg Allman and Friends at the historic Van Wezel Theater in Sarasota. It was Gregg's first performance sober, he looked scared and weighed about 275 pounds but boy was it a great show. Jimmy Hall was the other vocalist and played a mean harp that night. Come to think of it Im pretty sure Thom Duchettte (sp) was there too. Anyway, at the end of the show Gregg gave a little speech about the music biz and how it was pretty hard to find and keep "true friends". But Gregg said there was one guy who he thought of as perhaps his best friend and his name was Dickey Betts and then Dickey came out from behind the stage, picked up a guitar and they proceeded to bring the house down with a wicked version of "One way Out" So every once in awhile I think just maybe Gregg will pick up the phone and he and Dickey will make peace and hit the road. Just a dream perhaps but a damn nice one. take care Brothers and Sisters, Kevin B
