P.S. I was so happy to hear Pam had come to visit Kim. You don't know HOW happy.
I don't know she reads here anymore, but Pammy, tell him to turn off that Fox news and get busy with life. He has some years left.
Kim's former partner in crime, Willie P. is not playing bingo either. He's quite the poker player (even on "senior night'). He's been winning lately, or maybe he's just saying that! Love them....the last two.
Found out a funny story today - there's a postcard out there with the whole bunch (band and crew) in a field by the farm (shot the same
Changing my phone # today. PM me if you want it.
Also my $183 weekly present came thru from New York State and I bought groceries. Lord knows how I'll flitter away the rest - possibly on that bill from North Shore Hospital.
Have to mention that Tinsley Ellis told a bit of a story before burning the house down with a rousing version of Freddie King's Hideaway...
He said that one time when he was playing in Atlanta, he happened to be playing with his eyes closed, and another guitarist sneaked up on stage and just started playing...it was Dickey Betts! Tinsley then mentioned that they had a great time, but couldn't say what they did after the show, because there were some kids in the crowd. :lol2:
Betcha can't guess who clapped the loudest and yelled approval when he said, "Dickey Betts." :-p
Sorry I've been absent for a bit. Been just crazy busy at work, then out of town to see Tinsley Ellis - great show! 😎
(((Nic & Pam))) Good vibes to you. You two have had your share of stuff to deal with.
Liz - good vibes to you as well.
TennKev - I'm so sorry about your grandmother. Sending peace and comforting vibes your way.
Peace and love to you all.
Yes, Jim, Rainy looks fabulous. Sitting next to her last winter, I was comparing the size of our thighs (women!). And I was at my all time high at the time (you might recall). It's a slow process slimming down at this age but it's happening. Shorts that didn't go past my knees last summer are now fitting a little big.
Think I'm gonna have to pass on the cruise, Kimberly, but thank you so much for the offer. Maybe I'll be able to catch up with you at the Winery if I can swing a ticket.
Fighting for work is a drag. I've got a week to fill in for old boss' wife (who refuses to let me come back because she wants to save the money). She just retired at 75 from a NY City teacher's job with a very nice pension. The Dr. had promised that if I came back at any time, it would be, you know, off the b's, but he rescinded that yesterday. Of course, that'll screw with my pittance of an unemployment check.
Have to remind myself to be grateful for whatever comes my way - sometimes it's very difficult.
Life is difficult. Gotta remind myself also to keep it in the day. Have a good one. y'all.
oops..almost forgot...
Thanks Mr. Jim for sharing Corinthians 13:1-13 NKJV

Nic, Pam is having shoulder surgery ? Is it for her rotator ? When?? Oh Geez... I had that about 2 yrs ago.. I have two or three anchors in my shoulder and it was a difficult recovery.. I hope you are able to care for yourself more , Pam will want to help you ,but it will be difficult with the limited use of shoulder... She needs to do her PT faithfully ... My shoulder is so great now, you would never know I had it.. seems as if Pam and I have had the same health issues.. she had something with her ankle a while back ?? I also had a broken ankle right on the heels of my shoulder.. 😮 what a mess I was.. Bill took great care of me.. showering and washing my hair was the worse.. I also gained weight from lying around.. I think about 28 lbs.. I have since lost a total of 35 and have been called skinny ( once again LOL).. first time in yrs I wore a bikini... fun.. anyway Good Luck and let us know when the surgery is.
Prayers positive and well wishes are always sent to you..
Kev ..how are you holding up ? All your friends are here for you..

I might just take you up on the offer, Kimberly. PM me your phone #. Only problem is, I don't drink and it's kinda of a drinkin' environment. I haven't socialized in that kind of situation for awhile and sometimes it's a little awkward for me.
It's not that this dude doesn't like Dickey's music; it's just that he can't stand me being so taken away by it. If I coulda gotten over the fence and up on the stage, I'd a been right next to you because you were dancing up a storm and I needed a partner. He would not go back by the buses cuz he feels threatened by "the scene" I've always been so happy and comfortable in. After 5 years of dealing with this dud, he's gone gone gone which has put me in a tenuous financial situation but I'd rather have to sell my house (which I'm doing) than deal with HIM!
Don't forget to send me your #. And yeah, Rick, I know that you know.
Hi Lizzy! Drop any man that doesn't like Dickey's music, it will never work!~ LOL It's Kimberly...if you would like to join us on August 11th Rock the River Cruise boat excursion (lots of cool guys will be on that boat trip for sure!) with The New Riders Purple Sage, going out of Pier 83 on 42nd Street on West Side boarding at 7:30 pm, let me know...I will be happy to treat and get you a ticket if you can make it and your back is up for it...3 hr cruise up down Hudson River and out by Statue of Liberty and up and down East River and back to the West Side Highway to dock back at 11:30 pm...you let me know...Love,Kimberly
...those that roll that way, understand where you are coming from.
That's what it's all coming to.....
Last time I heard this sung, about a month back, I was being hearded to a shuttle bus to leave a concert I was loving because someone I thought that loved me would not, could not allow me to go inside myself, by myself and let myself float with the music. He felt "left out". No one will ever do that to me again. As described by Ghandi, this is not "love". It is selfish and self serving. It is not finding joy in what the person you love finds to be most joyful.
I just want to echo the prayers and positive thoughts that everyone here is expressing. It is comforting to see everyone moving in the same direction...towards a God of their understanding.
As we lose our friends, the musicians we admire and love so dearly, as we ourselves become sickened or are just living with the ravages of age (some accelerated by our own lifestyles), our mortality is becoming so clear. If we are wise, we learn to appreciate each day, each special moment, our love for our friends and family becomes more poignant.
This is not a bad thing. Although many of us are in pain, battling disease or whatever personal problems we have, we are becoming more intimately aware of the real purpose of life.
I love you all.
Great stuff Pintobean!!!!! Glad you had a Goodtime Rick. Thanks for the well wishes sent my way. I am feeling better each day. I am sorry to hear of the passing of Kevin's Grandmother. Please keep Danny, Debby and the Toler Family in your Thoughts and Prayers!. Peach.
Something Rick said reminded me of this little thing I saw on a glass in a tourist trap when I was on a vacation with my family when I was about 11 years old...
The morning sun will kiss the sky
The moon will kiss the stars on high
The morning dew will kiss the grass
But you my friend(Claude???)......
