Glad to hear many in the path of the storm are ok!!! I hope the Lilac bush is saved Rainy. They are pretty tough. Looks like Vermont really caught hell with all the flooding. Peach.
Morning ... yes, all is well here too. Had some large tree limbs come down and my beautiful Lilac bush is tilted but not totally out of the ground.. Not sure it can be saved. We'll see. We were lucky here.

We survived with a few branches down, and a little water in the basement. A small price to pay for being safe. Hope everyone was as lucky!

Hey everybody. Safe and sound here.
No Rainy, John has to get up at 4:15 on work days so there's no way he can make a show and get up that early.
I don't know how he does it. I have a hard time waking up at 7AM.
Looks like the hurricane is a done deal. A few trees down but nothing else. It's still drizzling and the wind is blowing. Good sleeping weather!!!!!
Hope all the East Coasters ( and visitors) will be safe. I have a few family members staying here tonight. Marie's mom, who is 89, and my son and family are sleeping over. Kinda like we have our own evacuation center here. Should be a wild and crazy night! 🙂 Its barely raining at this time, however the forecast is for the storm to hit overnight, so it ain't over yet!

I had tickets for DBGS Sunday 8/28 ..I was looking forward to this all summer... well, I live out on the eastern part of L.I. and I called the The City Winery yesterday morning and a woman there told me they would honor my tickets for Tues 8/30 🙂
I think Dickey and the Band are in the NY area... be safe...

Well hey everybody! We are definitely taking this hurricane seriously...I just received a call from the nice people at Breezy Point and the private party on Sat nite at the Colony Theater in Breezy Point, NY is cancelled. Even though it was a private party for the Co-op residents they did sell about 20 tickets to the public, and Teresa of Breezy Point said if you have tickets, not to worry, the show will be re-scheduled...Mayor Bloomberg announced a mandatory evacuation and no one can get in...
The band is flying into NYC today and already the flights are backing up from Atlanta through Phila and NYC...
I have tickets for DB&GS at the City Winery on Sun/Mon/Tues nite so we will see what goes down the next couple of days. Sunday nite might be a tough one with winds of 110 miles per hour and storm surge of 6ft - 12 feet in lower Manhattan...stuff is definitely coming on everybody please be safe and say a prayer as this one is coming up dead on to NYC and up the Hudson River. Mostly the flying debris (they say those No Parking signs can fly through a window and cut like a razor blade!) and power outage for days could be a big problem so cases of Poland Spring Water and Size D batteries are the new "gold" in Town...can't get them now at CVS, Shop Rite, A&P, Lowes, all out of flashlights, Size D batteries and water and the storm hasn't even hit yet. Gotta go and fill up the propane tank for the grill outside so if the power goes out we can still cook. Kinda of scary too the way people up here are freaking out with road rage for gas, water, and whatever.
So wishes for everyone to be safe especially Dickey and the Boys with an event of this magnitude coming our way! Yikes! I will have to remember to bring some cards, candles and flashlights for fun just like the old daze! Love ya. Kimberly
