Amy dearest, you listen up too. We are fans of Dickey Betts. We take the good with the bad, just like we did w/ Gregg back in the day. Just like we do when the current ABB have a bad, trainwreck song or night. The dude is freakin' 70 yrs old or somewhere close to it. Who knows how much he practices these days. He and the band don't play many dates anymore. Don't go to his shows if you don't like the product. If you see him, have a nice long talk w/ him and tell him your issues w/ him:lol:. What more does he have to prove to anyone musically? His contributions should be enough to gain respect from the ABB and music community. Let me share something else with you. We love Rainy here. We love Mr. King here. They are part of our family. We would enjoy having you as part of the family here too. But, throwing the drunk card, insulting Dickey, and some of the website family members isn't going to go over very well here. I dont' think your comments are what God has in mind either. If you want to slam Dickey and some of the DB family website members, go over to the blue site.

Hi Rainy. I went over to the forum and read the reviews which I don't usually do. I wonder how many of those folks commenting actually went to the shows. I have always tried to take the approach that if you don't have something good to say just remain quite. It is sad the way the entire band was attacked by some. On a brighter note Pam and I received a very nice package from my Brother Of The Road Danny Toler yesterday. I was very moved by the words he sent us. We Love Danny very much. Please keep Danny and his Family in your Thoughts and Prayers as he battles ALS. His words give me encouragement in my own medical struggles. I am a better person from knowing Danny. We are hoping a visit to Florida is in our future. I hope you all are doing well today. The roofers are here giving our home a new roof. I am going to The Ohio State University tomorrow for a follow-up of the cancer. Go BUCKEYES!!!!!! Thanks for your Support and Friendship!! Peach.

Morning to all :sunny: Voador Thanks for the video.. sweet memories.. Nice seeing Luke, you have been gone for a while and I hope all is well with Amy .. I have read the horrible reviews from DBGS show at the City Winery 8/30 ..on ABB site. I was at the early show , we got there around 8pm . I missed Kristi show.. another guest there pointed her out in the audience.. The comments on DBGS are bad.. really bad. I think out of all the comments .. and posts.. it was the poster and myself at the show.. the rest are just commenting to comment about their HEARD of shows or maybe one or two that they experienced before. Now , I am not a reporter , a writer, a critic, I am just a fan.. It was a girl's night out for me and my friends from work.. We had a blast before we even got into the city.. I guess you could call it Hurricane relief time.. SO , by the time we walked in.. we were ready for some music.. and Dickey Betts and Great Southern took the stage and off they went.. Dickey's mike seemed a bit low.. but other than that.. it was a great show.. It always amazes me what and how we all hear the same thing and take something completely different away from it. I am not a musician , so I am not dissecting every note , what was missed and how it is different from the Filmore hahahaha .. geez... they are musicians and like I believe someone made a post saying that they are in their musical conversations and DB always changes his own compositions.. it's all a musical ride and to hang on. Some obviously don't like it.. They want note for note.. as recorded... To find fault with Pedro is an extraordinary thing.. I am more shocked by that statement than any other.. so all else falls to the wayside.. He blew the whole review by that one remark.. I respect anyone's musical experience, if it was not good for them, I feel bad that it was not what they had hoped for. Again I have seen youtubes videos of both these bands and thought YIKES.. I was there and it sounds horrible on some of those posted videos... I had a great time and Thanks to Dickey , Duane, Andy A, Pedro, Mike , Frankie and James... Thanks to Tony Tyler for posting some positive energy in there.. Have a Blue Sky day :dog:  :inlove:

.....a good cup of coffee this morning, and off to TN. Hint of impending Fall in the air. I love it. Ocracoke calls me there but I dont know if she will be accepting visitors. Hatteras and Ocracoke took a beating; may have to wait until spring which is far too long

Morning :sunny: First , I can not even believe I am up this early on my day off and after having seen Dickey Betts and Great Southern last night.. WOW WOW WOW WOW.. it was needed for me.. Loved the place.. wine was great and so was the small amount of food I did manage to gobble down.. as I was jumping up to dance.. I didn't run into anyone I knew , although the place was packed.. I did , however see Andy A as we were walking in the door.. He is so fan friendly and such an endearing man.. Thanks Andy for the Big Hello.. you played outstanding last night your slide playing was delicious, as did the whole band.. We were at the early show which was an honored ticket from the 8/28 hurricane Irene show that was cancelled. Making that trip into the city is not something I do for every entertainer I like , believe me.. the traffic getting in there was a bit heavy , I left work an hour early.. I love that DB is out there on occasion with the band Great Southern.. they were very tight last night and Duane was in excellent tone and playing so darn good.. Pedro has become more and more the music.. when he has on his bass.. He is the bass.. it's fascinating to watch... really.. drummers Frankie and James.. were compelling.. Dickey was totally in the zone.. The crowd roared for him and it was magical. So I am a happy woman this morning and I am doing something I never do.. I am going back to bed , sleep and dream about last night... what fun, lots of dancing, smiling , happiness.. Thanks to DBGS.. Please come out on L.I. to play.. Hope everyone is well.. cya later :waving:

Last nite's show was awesome...Dickey played like a demon and was so intense! Duane is here on this tour and is on fire! It was loud in front row but I am going back for more and promise to get a setlist & reviews for y'all... Tonite Nic, just for you I will get a big hello to Frankie L and The Boys! We love you Nic and you are in our hearts for real... Kristy Lane chick who opens has a beautiful voice, reminded me of a Katy Lang type and she sang alot of her own songs... Dickey has decided to do a double show tonite to make up for Sunday nite's show that was cancelled due to the hurricane. So there is a 9:00 and 10:30 show for their last nite in NY. Come on out if you are in NYC for some good times! Jen (Blue Rose) (FrankieB's wife) I will try to get that pic for you, but I don't know if the drum as it the gig or at the hotel tonite, I will do my best! Love to Dickey and the Band and Crew and all the best - have fun tonite! Peace and Love, Kimberly
