I was at a dinner party about 7-8 years ago and the hosts had Coltrane playing on the stereo. I asked who the Coltrane fan was. I told the husband I had gotten turned onto Trane via the ABB - they always mentioned Miles & Trane. That of course turned the conversation to the Brothers and he said "I've been in the studio with the Allman Brothers." What?!? I HAD to hear this story.
Turns out it wasn't the most memorable day in the studio. It was the night they recorded "Straight through the Heart" (oh well). Anyway, he says that Gregg & Dickey were late. My friend Mark was with his buddy who knew some of the studio people and indirectly Danny T. He said Gregg & Dickey eventually showed up and everyone said "stay out of their way" basically.
DDT on the otherhand was there on time and recorded his part timely. He then was as nice as could be and introduced himself and had zero rock star personality. It made a big impression on my friend Mark who was telling me the details of Dan's kindness some 23 years later.
I don't think I've ever heard anything but great things about Dangerous Dan.

I hope everyone has a great time at the DDT benefit! I just wanted to let you all know that Frankie is asking everyone that has packages for him to mail the last of them no later than Nov. 1st. Since he will be leaving Dec. 28th, and with all the holiday mail traffic Nov. 1st would be the latest to send stuff, so that 1-he doesn't have anymore stuff to carry on the plane with him and 2- so it doesn't get caught in the holiday mail rush and not make it there before he leaves. Hope brother Dickey is well and I have not given up someday of seeing him (again). I have dreams of a back to the roots Dickey with dobro, mandolin, fiddle, and that Americana gig going.....
times are tough, so many folk fightin' fightin' scrappin' to survive and I just wish everyone good and happiness, I'm sick and tired of people fighting people and tough energy and music needs to be an escape from it all and music sites need to be an island of goodness..... sorry, hippie days flashback of Rodney King Can't We All Just Get Along, never mind Piss Off 🙂

We decided to go and make non-refundable plane tickets and rental car before I knew if I would be back in treatments again. That way we knew we were going. God has a way of helping us make the right decisions. I am Thankful for every day. I could think of a dozen reasons not to go, but the most important reason was enough. I Love Danny Toler. Pam and I were just talking about the all wonderful things Danny has done for us during our Friendship. Please try to join us and show Danny how much we care.

Hey Rainy, we don't need the edit button. Copy the post you screwed up then delete it. Then paste the post in a new one and correct that. It's almost as easy as the edit button.

Lizzie, I appreciate your patience with me. I hope everyone can tell I'm kidding around although some of that stuff in varying degrees is true for me and probably most folks who have been married for a while. Ain't no perfect marriage that I know about and I'm poking fun at the lasses but men ain't no picnic a lot of the time either I don't imagine. Heck I even left the toilet seat up one time.
