Hello Brothers ans Sisters: Almost two days later and at 11:00 PM, Feb 26, the passing of our hero Dan Toler is "trending" at number One in the Yahoo world. Perhaps those who have never witnessed his beautiful musical and personal contributions to this world will finally see his musical passion, and his perseverence throughout his gallant stance throughout his battle with ALS. To me, and after the passing of Duane, Dangerous Dan became the next naturally gifted guitarist to touchstone with Dickey. He seemed to help all of those musicians to grow, and got past all the life challenges to hold a love bearing friendship that proved true. May God bless the spirit of Dan, and may all those in your family recieve peace. Ride in Peace, My Friend....

RIP Dan Toler. You were in the band the first time I saw the Allman Brothers and I got to see you play with Dickey in 2003 in a small club in Boston. I enjoyed your music and it seems like you touched a lot of hearts both personally and professionally. I hope you get a nice tribute at an upcoming ABB concert. I think you will; you deserve it.

RIP and God Bless Dangerous Dan Toler, a fine musician and all-around good dude. Had the pleasure of speaking with him a few times during the period from around '02 - '05, and always was impressed by his easy-going demeanor and wit.

Chet called me with the sad news about Dan yesterday. The world lost a beautiful soul, but Heaven's musical lineup got another fine addition! What an awesome concert they must be having today! I will always remember his kindness & his amazing smile! He made my first show incredibly special! He waved off security and allowed me to continue taking pictures even though they tried to confiscate my camera. This musical family will be mourning this loss for a long time to come! I am glad that the pain is gone for him. Rest in Peace DDT!!! Gena, Hayli, & Meadow

Here is a tribute I found from Joe Bonamassa.. "The first time I ever heard a sunburst Les Paul played in anger was when my father brought me to Colmans in Rome New York to see the Dickey Betts band featuring a young Warren Haynes open up for the Gregg Allman solo band featuring Dangerous Dan Toler in 1983. I was 6 years old and still remember how great he sounded through a half stack vintage Marshall. 20 years later I ran into Dan in Tampa and he was nice enough to sit in with our band. He was a true southern gentleman and a real hero to many including me. His solo on "I'm No Angel" gets him into the hall of fame alone. Rest in Peace Dan! It's a true loss for the guitar community. Joe B"

I love you Danny Boy...God this is crushing me and then I am happy he is with his brother Frankie, TattooNeil, Bruce Waibel, Red Dog and his family waiting for him...we couldn't selfishly keep him here...What a beautiful man...words can't describe his aura that touched anyone who came into his path...I am smiling thinking back about his outrageously beautiful blue eyes and that smile could soften any soul...when I was traveling on the road on tour with Dickey Betts & Great Southern when Danny was in the band were some damn good times...I remember when we were out in Scottsdale Arizona on tour and Susan Teseschi and Jerry Jeff Walker were playing the same day...it was the most beautiful spot in the west...all shades of purple mountains and sand colors across the desert with tumbling weeds moving the energy around..we would look for an empty trailer just to burn one up in privacy...Dickey would always find us and smile "You guys burning rope again!" Everybody was looking for a secret place... My pictures back then always picked up the smiles and interaction between Danny and Dickey was unmistakeable chemistry mentally spirritually and physically I could see right in front of my eyes was a gift I was bestowed upon, their eyes would lock on and I was a visitor on the magic carpet ride of music and they always took me to that other plane...I will get my pics out today and try to smile and remember I was loved by Danny and I loved him and that energy will stay with us both for times so reflect those good times and smile and give the peace sign in remembrance of Danny. Danny told me his favorite meal was frogs legs...I used to cook for the Band when they were in Town and that was one meal I was definitely NOT making, I made him Mafia Shrimp Scampi instead! My deepest condolences to Debbie Toler for your love and strength and bravery and the woman behind the man and much love to the Toler family... Also and most importantly, I would like to reach out to Dickey, Pedro, Mike, Duane, Frankie, Andy, and James, Dave Stoltz, Kris Jensen, The Crew and our families and express my sadness at this time and know I am thinking of all of you and send my support and prayers and love to you as Danny is and always will be Allman Brother family... Love, Kimberly

I am deeply saddened to hear the tragic news of Dan Toler's passing. Dan was a very kind, generous and warm person, aside from being one of the greatest guitarists of his generation. I will always be thankful for his great musical spirit & for the chance to have gotten to know him and to play with him.

Very sad to hear of Dan's passing this man was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet and talk too. He played a great guitar too. So when ever you hear Gregg Allman singing on I'm No Angel remember its Dan playing the awesome guitar licks on that song.. Ed

I was so lucky to be Dan's roomate. He was a true blue stand up guy with a heart of gold.Nobody could outplay Dan Toler. He knew who he was and what he was worth ,but his ego was balanced and never got in the way.Dan was never boring, had the best sense of humor and he was good to everybody. This is a huge loss, but we are all so fortunate to have been around him. My heart goes out to Debbie Toler and Dan's great family....all wonderful people who made Dan very happy every day. He is with God now, with Frankie and his parents. The Toler Bros. have a new start.

Legendary Allman Brothers Band guitarist DAN TOLER passes: This morning February 25th 2013, "Dangerous" Dan Toler lost his long battle against "ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease". Dan passed away peacefully at he and his wife's home in Sarasota Florida. Our thoughts go out to Dan's family at this sad time. Dan Toler gave us the greatest music memories of our generation while playing with bands like Capricorn Record's "Allman Brothers Band", King Mojo Record's "TGC", the Dicky Betts band and the Gregg Allman band. Rest in peace brother. Dan Toler
