Dickey and Dan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWH1bdm83ZI
Good times last nite, saw Joe Bell, nice man walking into the place, smiles all around, and Gregg was cool and had some conversation and signed my ticket along with Warren and Mr. Derek Trucks...there were two NEW songs played last nite, WRITEN by Warren for the band...Funny thing, the whole band greeted fans and took pics as they left and the only one who rushed out to the limosine without any recognition to the fans was Butch...he thinks he is all that...
Warren and I talked about Danny and he said "He is in a better place now..." as we all believe our energy does go to a place where we are all loved.
Saying hi to Nic and Pam and know I love you both and think of you every day and nite and sending prayers.
Rock on, Love, Kimberly

Going to opening nite at Beacon/ABB, I hope they will dedicate the evening to Dan Toler or at least a cool tribute would be sweet...I am going to show my respect and support to Mr. Warren Haynes...Have a good evening everyone and enjoy the little things! Love, Kimberly
Coming from you, that is one heck of a great tribute, Lefty.
And, Rainy, you poor thing. St Martin's? ....Naples? I guess someone has to be there. Hope you're having a great getaway!
Dan was an amazing player..
the show he did with the Gregg Allman band from 1987 in Philly opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan was just flat out top level
never heard a bad note from Dan Toler
It's a sad morning. I am on vacation, Bill and I were in St.Martin when I read this sad news about Dan's passing. My deepest and heartfelt condolences to his family ,friends and his large extended family of musicans. I pray he has found peace, comfort, relief from pain and has joined his beloved brother Frankie and all awaited there with open arms.
Yes I was lucky enough to see/hear him play.
I am still on vac. here in Naples.. My thoughts are with his family.
Many Many prayer to our Nic and his family.
Great video Savanah! Thanks for sharing.
Still sending those thoughts and prayers and healing vibes to brother Nic and Pam...
Love & prayers to Nic & family

I can't play any of the videos people post on here so sorry if this is one somebody already posted but it's a smoker from 1980 that shows that Dan could in fact play the guitar pretty well... Dickey, too believe it or not.

Good Afternoon Brothers and Sisters,
Safe travels Dangerous Dan (and if you saw him play you KNEW where he got his nickname). A fellow Hoosier who made it to the big time, good job Danny! last time I saw you play was in Bloomington Indiana...they still talk about that show in Btown. I yelled out to you "welcome back to indiana Dangerous!" and you smiled....
But the most special memory of you and the band was in Oakley, Ohio in March, 2005 (I think). You and DB opened the show with "Little Martha". Thanks for the musicianship Dan. We will remember you. KLBazur
"Dickey? ....Dickey Betts is as bad as bad can be." Duane Allman radio interview, 1971
R.I.P. Dan. Always enjoyed talking to you and seeing you play.
