I had the priviledge to meet and talk to DDT a couple of times when he played here in Milwaukee with Dickey. All I can say is what an outstanding, easy going, friendly spirit he was. Genuine to the bone. I don't think they come much nicer.
I am so grateful I had gotten the chance to talk with him and tell him how much I enjoyed his playing. DDT, like Reddog, has taken a piece of me with them on their next journey.
DDT has moved on to a much happier place.... I will never forget his smile and his kind heart.

Hey y'all...just listening to the live tape of the Danny Toler Benefit at Sarasota Ranch when I had all my favorite people in the house loving each other and digging the music and the love we share between all of us, yes Dickey drew us all together and together we shall always be...Nic and Pam, Paul and Heidi, Capn, Mike Mahar, Mike Kach, Frankie Lombardi, Carlos, Luke Gina and daughter, Bonnie Bramlett, hell there was 2 1/2 days of music just for Danny, jamming like no tommorrow will ever come...I am diggin listening to Mike Kach Band right now, he just blew me away on his song "My Getaway" I think of Nic and now the band moved onto Whipping Post...hell it was Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes, sweet Duane Betts, Chris Anderson and those nice Florida boys talent like Mark Serio and the guest himself Danny Toler slaying every song into the nite...I was like a dancing fairy for daze...one minute I was dancing side stage, then grabbing the camera for some pics, then running and finding Nic and Paul and dancing and laughing like I was in the 5th grade...thank you my friends for making me smile and cry all at the same time....that gig was unbelievable forever blazed in my mind - one definitely for the good times indeed! Paul thank you for everything you do and I love you both and how fortunate am I to have met such fine people here and on the road...sweet sister Sari and Danny, yes we have been blessed...
P.S. Mike Kach if you are out there I do really love you my brother...don't you ever forget that...

Good old Sunday moring folks. Many, many thanks to Brother Lefty for the love, kindness, and uplifting of the spirit he brought to our Bro and Sis, Nic and Pam and to all of us. Continued love and prayers to Nic and Pam and to all of you folks.
I will not go visit Butch's Facebook page because I do not need to be reminded what a classless douchbag he is!
Also would like to offer my thoughts & prayers to Nic & Pam this Sunday morning! I don't know you fine folks but I've been a huge ABB & Dickey fan since 1970. The Love Valley Concert was just down the road from me! No doubt we would have a lot in common if we were to know each other. Hope Nic has a positive day full of love & healing vibes.
Better watch it Dan. I DID get banned from the blue site. And I finally got a private Email (from whom I promised to keep private) which told me it was Butch Trucks who got me banned.
To be fair, I did watch a brand new interview with Butch yesterday & while discussing the time when Duane copped a bag of cocaine & ran back to position with the rest of the band for the Fillmore Picture with the photographer yelling & screaming at them for being out of place, Butch did mention Dickey in that story for telling the photographer that is was stupid for him to want them to hold up their pant leg & show their mushroom tattoos on their leg.
But I still don't understand why Butch cropped out Dickey's picture on the two pictures he has of the original band on his facebook site & it only shows Duane, Berry, Butch, Gregg & Jaimoe. NO Dickey. To me that calls attention to the deal. If Butch had left Dickey IN the two pictures, nobody on the blue site would be talking about it.
