Hey Now!! I have some Great news to share with you all as you have all been there for me for a very long time. Today Pam & I spent the day at the James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University. After a day of testing and Dr visits the preliminary diagnosis is the neither cancer is actively growing at this time!! That is wonderful news for us. More test results will be available in the next 2 weeks, but hopefully nothing new will surface. I do have some damage from radiation, but I am dealing wih that. Life is good!!! Thanks so much to all my Family, Friends and Fellow Workers who have supported me during the past 31 months of surgery, treatments and test. The medical staff here at home and at the James has been second to none. May God Bless the Health Care Providers. You folks here have all been so supportive and a very important part of my Life during this time. Thanks to you all!! I am trully Blessed!!! Peach.

Perhaps this will be read now by a few... DEFINING THE BROTHERHOOD...A PERSPECTIVE If you define what "the Brotherhood" was-or is-within the Allman Brothers Band, its inner circle, or its fan base there would be similar lines of thought. In the core id, the Brotherhood is a oneness of experiencing and savoring the emotional and sensual messages within the music. Its that engagement and exchange of collective soul, coming together and with unison, reaching out into the spiritual world...being drawn back in...and collectively reaching out higher and with more passion and energy, back and forth in musical love almost in intercoursal fashion until the collective has put it all out there. Baring their musical reach until naked. Reaching out and savoring more until the body cannot give, and the mind cannot understand what actually took place. But the heart remembers. And the Brother (Sister-one in the same here) remembers. His heart is full, and at the same time, he accepts what he experienced and wants to repeat that experience. Not in the way a addict craves a high, but in the way a broken heart found safety and refuge. In the case of the addict, you have to give nothing and selfishly take. In the Brotherhood experience you realize you have to expose your heart, experience, and in return give of yourself in order to remain in the sweet spot. So, a Brother learns the path. He understands and focuses on what he craves, and what he must give in order to fully experience the ultimate...what Duane referred to as Hitting the Note...a place ALL people have the capability to experience, but truly in this culture few have actually experienced. That place where music is the vehicle...and the payload is the emotional footprint of that collective musical convergence. An emotional tuning fork perfectly balanced with Duane/Gregg/Berry/JJ/Butch, combined with the collective soul of music lovers, and lovers in general, who boarded that ship. The Brotherhood therefore is a place you never wanted to leave. You would want, as a musician, to pleade and do your part to recreate that payload every time you performed. Who was going to begin that night? When would the first emotional tuning fork be raised, begging for others to see it, feel it, and join?. And in the crowd...could you spot the tuning forks on stage? Could you also contribute your own? Your friends around you never got it, did they? You would be in a stupor, not from drugs, but from the music, and your friend was clueless......that is because Brothers and Sisters...the Brotherhood, read the spiritual aspect of the musicians on stage, and carried that experience...remaining in that sweet spot....to their core. Others see it as good quality music. They never then, nor now, understand. Given the above, a person moves in and out of that sweet spot place. In particular a musician who becomes sad and frustrated he can no longer expect those tuning forks to be raised. You cannot find it with your bandmates. You cannot drivea guitar player to speak directly from his most inner sanctum to his fingers. You cannot hold that moment and leverage it. So, you simply play. You simply perform. And at that moment, your perspective changes. Music becomes work. When the music becomes work, all you have then is a series of frustrating memories for what was. The id does not exist onstage. Those fans, and those replacing musicians, who never got it are still happy...the music itself sounds the same. But the Brotherhood knows its not the same. Because the Brotherhood is comprised of music player, bandmates, and lovers all alike, the collective then can keep the hope and desire alive. That has been the case here with the wanderers for years. Year after year, night after night, the collective has kept the dream alive. The Beacon potential reunion was an excellent example; it was not to hear Dickey play Ramblin Man. It was the collective trying to open the door to see if those musicians would go back to the sweet spot, hold up their emotional tuning forks, and experience it again. With that, the question becomes who wants to remain in that zone called the Brotherhood? Many have left from sheer frustration...but they wander nevertheless. Some hold true to the core and contend its still possible. And some want nothing more than to live by what they were taught and experienced first hand. They never want to wander away from that core. When road tired brothers and sisters meet up, from the first hug, kiss or handshake, you know its for real in them. They are dedicated and wear their emotional trip counters with love. And most importantly, they encourage and nuture that experience with their Brothers and Sisters. Because they understand what a Brother or Sister had to lay on the table in order to become the collective. In this world and society, the hardest thing a human can do is to mentally and emotionally let go. In a crowd of Allman Brother fans, you can literally visualize those that can and have from those who are too frightned to go there, or too angry to allow it.

Everyone that contributed will be receiving an acknowledgment from him once he gets his computer up and running again. Keep it comin'. :dog: Red Dog, you're a peach :flower:

I posted this on the other site and thought i should put it here also. This is a piece of what the Lady with the K and W posted on the brother Dickey web site. Please remember "the love you take is equal to the love you make." That was one of the best comments I have read. So, I will say publicly to Brother Butch. Sorry for my post. I was wrong to post on here about our feud. It will not happen again. I meant what I said, if you should ever need me, I will be there. Even thou, I was mad at you, I have never stopped loving you. As a brother I was just pissed and let it out. Again I was in the wrong.

Rainy - I know there can't be peace all the time, but it's something to strive for. It sometimes helps to stop, take a deep breath, and think before firing off something you may regret saying. Again, I don't always do it, but it's a good goal.

Got a package from Lakewood, OH. Man, you had to have stayed up all night doing all that copying. Thank you. It will give me something to watch next week. Just what I needed.

Well now you have hit the nail on the head. There was and still is nothing like Betts and Trucks firing back and forth. Dickey would play a lick and Butch would be all over it like a hot rock. The band would be in the cosmos and we all would be on trip. Yes there was nothing like it. I miss hearing that deep down in my soul. That ant no lie.

And you are rich. Rich in the right kinda way anyway. LMAO:lol2:Yeah the creative and dynamic writing team of Betts and Trucks. They sure could communicate with each in the right way when they were playing together, that's fo' sure.

Voador, I don't think you can be considered "negative" if you don't like a movie. That's what you call a valid opinion. Yeah, where did Rick go? Was that you, Rick? You were looking very thoughtful. It was nice, like Rainy said, to put a face to a name - a respected name. Jim, Are you sure John wrote that? It was sung in harmony - sounds more like a Paul line. Whatever. We're getting REALLY close to our Dickey show up here in NY and it's kinda hard to believe it's gonna happen. I was convinced I'd never see him perform again after December. I think we all need to stand up and sing along if he does "Back Where it All Began". It has a whole lot more meaning today than it did yesterday. Sorry, I'm so chatty. One more thing, I went to the grocery store and used up half of my food stamps. I have so much food I feel absolutely RICH!!!!! What am I is blessed.

Heck, I would like to think that the majority of the time, like 95%, this is a pretty peaceful, loving, caring and sharing family on here. It didn't get nearly as ugly, on either site, as I thought it was going to get. That's good. It usually gets ugly when one of the brothers is bashed. Whether it be Dickey, RedDog, Gregg, or Butch, and I reckon that is understandable. People on these sites love these guys. Or most of them anyway. Thoughts and vibes goin' out to RedDog.

Yes, in the perfect world all is good and evil does not exist... I think that was Eden... I am adding this,.. Kitty , you are sweet and kind with a loving heart and a true sista ....It would be great to have peace all the time... I could dig that. Rick that was your picture.. where did it go ?? Nice when you put a face to the person.. You wrote an excellent post yesterday on Brotherhood.. anyone who hasn't read it.. go take a look... So " not " enough talk about Betts... Oh, lets not make any mistakes about that... That is why we come here.. to hang out at Betts Place.. as any place where there are many people ...we get in heated conversations and sometimes, feelings get hurt... most of the time it is not intentional.... So... some here In the New York area have a BIG show coming up on 7/23 we have been discussing that one for days... :dog: where are you ??

It looks like some nasty stuff went on here last night. I'm pretty sure I'm glad I missed it. I hate to harp on this all the time, but a little PEACE would be nice. Please remember "the love you take is equal to the love you make."

Wow. I am a bit dismayed by all the negativity I'm seeing here as of late. We all have our friends, cares, concerns and our passions. As humans, we get put into situations where our health and happiness are directly impacted by our social interaction. I offer my best wishes and prayers to all who hurt, but I also urge us all to occasionally scroll up to the top of the page and look at the beautiful logo which defines what this website is all about. I had to read back two or three pages to find anything relevant to Dickey's music. This is certainly not to offend anyone, but I, for one, need to go and find some sweet solace in that same music. Peace to all!

Wow alot happens when you go offline for most of the day! Something that strikes me as strange from Butch's comments is that "Duane Allman is the most important person in his life" shouldn't that be his wife/children?
