I am so psyched to see Dickey and Great Southern here in NY in just days! I am so grateful and appreciative to be able to be in the house when Dickey and His Boys grace us with his presence and magic music to fill our hearts and souls...thank you to everyone who is making this week possible...after not being around the band with everybody in the same room for many months I realized how much I truly do love each and every one of the guys and families and friends I have met along the way...thanks Dickey for opening my world up to a beautiful place and time...Love, Kimberly
Love and Peace, Kimberly
Wow, I sure missed a lot in the last 1-1/2 days!
Great news, Nic!:D
Pontart8 & Detroitkay - hello, my friends! You are all going to have a wonderful time!
JK and Capn - what a party there will be with you guys going to see DB! Awesome. Wish I could be there.
I'd love to see a list of who all is going to be at this gig - I know moon697 will be there as well.
Rick - nice pic of your babies.
Detroitkay, Your name on this GB hits me like a hammer. I love it. "Detroitkay." got that ring to it. I even have a way of saying it.
In your post, you mentioned the Waldorf, First time I stayed there, was on a high school senior trip. Got kicked out for getting the to key to the bridle suit, through a big party. It was right next to my room. I did get away when some of us dropped a water ballon from the eighth floor. Right behind a lady walking down the street. No harm no foulf just scared the sh** out of her. when the bag hit, she took off running and then looked back.
It was early in the morning, very few people moving around, but there was a cop standing on the corner, and so the whole thing. Luck came in and he miss counted the floors and went up an arrested some guys from another school, who wee staying on that floor. I actually went to boot camp with one of the guys who got arrested. Small world. Next time I got kicked out of the Waldorf was with the ABB. Twiggs, did not like they way they were acting, at the desk and bingo they kicked us out, because was going off on them. I guess you could say we never got checked in.
Bleeker street had a great restaurant, The Pink Tea Cup, or something like that. Good southern food. We used to go there a lot to eat. Of course this was years ago. Before that, we used to go down in Harlem at the S & G. This lady who owned the place was part Oriental and American of African decent. She liked Duane. One time we were in there to eat. The place was always crowed and you had to stand against the wall. When a stole opened up you had to move in. Somehow everybody knew their sitting order.
This one time a stole opened up and this guy jumps in front of Duane, out of the sitting order, The lady told the guy to get up, he said something smart back to her, about Duane being white, and she picked up a meat cutting, and got right in the guys face and ran him out. Turned to Duane with a smile and said, you sit. Duane did not hesitate. Of course the reason we went there was you could get a good plate of southern food. Duane turned us on to the place. The first time we went there we were wondering, what the hell are we doing down here in Harlem. Turned out to be, the place to be.
Augie, Would she be over 65 and possibly live in Malakoff, Texas and have two children named Ronald and Wanza? If so, check your PM's. If not, let me know and I'll keep looking.
Kay, no dinner plans yet. PM Rainy and Mitch and see when they're planning on hitting the city. I'm taking the day off, BlueSky57 and Capn are coming into town, but the Long Island crew is driving in. If we can get them to Manhattan by 5, we're on for a dinner somewhere. Rainy and Pat are picking me up so I'm at their lovin' mercy.
Liz, you bet girl! Very excited about NYC. Has anyone figured out a meeting place, dinner, etc? Nancy & I are flying in on Thurs. Staying at the Waldorf that night & then Holiday Inn Express the next. Will be going to a club on Bleeker St. Thurs. Nite to hear some blues. The artist is Nick Moss & if you haven't heard him & like blues, you should check him out. Others plans ?
The lady dreams is on the case. Thank you my sister.
Big Dan, Two different places for sure, but it all seems the same. Water sucks, no place to take a real good dump, and you can't trust the people. I could handle that all day, but this C thing, is one mental battle. Bouncing me off the walls. A good fire fight can't touch this sh**.
No luck finding Virginia on Facebook. :dog:
Oh yeah, Capn is coming to NY to see Dickey next weekend. Willie told me to tell him something. LOL.
I need some help in finding Virginia Speed, She was the lady keyboard player in the roadie band, The Almost Brothers. I do not use face book or places like that. So if someone does maybe you could spread the word and tell to to contact me here on this guest book or if you have my e mail add, you can give it to her. Thank you for you help. She was in Texas last time I heard.
Red Dog I did the samething in the first gulf war. But it wasn't as intense as nam by any stretch of the imagination.
Rick keep cool down there!
Dan
Rick my brother. Looking good. very distinguished looking gentleman. We need Kool-aid. I used to have my mom send me pre sweetened Kool-aid when I was in Nam. Put in the canteen and water tasted much better. Of course you had to add a couple of water purification tablets. Wait 5 minutes, then drink away.
Just having fun and saying hello....hi Rainy, hi PD, high Brothers Luke and RD..hey BSJ and Dan
Dreams, I had to laugh. I don't think anyone is going to pull something on you. You are a hip chick and know what time of day it is. Love you for being a sweet heart.
No, big Jim. My friend that usually lets me play for nothing, was not working today. You have to go early in the morning to beat the heat.
I'm too old and wise in this regard to let guys like him fool me into anything. ;). I still love the Muskrat.
As far as everything else is concerned, I'm still only about 17 or so. Maturation is a slow process for moi.
Chris never laid a hand on me - an arm, yes, but no hands.
The New York contingent - Rainy, Mitch, Pat, me will all be on board - Barb, Mr. Barb and Nancy - where are you guys?
No cowboy boots for me - too damn hot.
Looking forward to seeing the girls from Detroit. Kay, will you be my sponsor for the night? Pam and Kimberly too, natch.
And, then there'll be the boy wonder bodyguards. Wondering whose gonna bodyguard us from our bodyguards :cop: ?
I have to say I honestly never thought this would ever happen again. Getting psyched!!! :twirl:
Go BUCKEYES!!!!!!
Okay then, three from the Michigan contingent, Capn, Detroit Kay and myself!!!
