Liz - more prayers and vibes to Doug. Rick - so true about the Vitamin D3. If you are deficient in it, it can cause joint pain as well. I had that problem until my rheumatologist figured it out. I now take 2000 i/u's per day. Might bump it up to 5000 i/u's per day.

Please, brothers and sisters, keep those prayers coming for my friends Claire and Doug. He is back in the hospital - either medication toxicity or the cancer has spread to his brain. I can't believe this is happening. Like BDOB says, CANCER SUCKS.

I've lost 22 pounds since June on Weight Watchers. It's a great plan because it's real. You can eat whatever you want, it's all about portion control and eating right. They have a great support system. Many of us from the GB/Forum are doing it, many with great success. Keep up the awesome work, gang!

For me, it has been a combination of things. First, I have made the committment to eat healthy. No fast food of any kind. And I eat every meal...I dont skip meals. Oatmeal for breakfast or a protein shake with a bananna added....I add ice in the blender so its very cold. Lunch is something light usually with fruit. And I try to eat supper by 6PM. If I get a craving I may go grab a frozen yogurt from Yogurt Mountain or eat some fresh fruit. I rarely eat beef now. Seafood or chicken. Breads rarely and I eat gluten free bread from Whole Foods. Refined flour nope. Drink a lot of water nowdays....add Crystal Light Orange or grape for a change. And a weekly B-12 dose. I also take 5,000IU of Vitamin D every day. I cannot stress the very latest research on Vitamin D. The Vitamin D council is spot on and most of us are severely deficient in D levels. New research confirms D is not just for bone health but may prevent colon and breast CA and other issues, including weight.

And Rainy and Rick - I'm with Liz, please share your weight loss secrets. I know Liz says cookies aren't in the plan. I'm guessing neither are butter or beer.

I've read on Ronnie's site where he thanks Dickey for playing on one of his cd's. What's the name of it? I'd love to buy it.

The pintobean weight loss plan - walk 4 or more miles at 5:00am every day. Only eat barbeque one day per week and then don't have more than 3 or 4 plates. Let my wife order for me when we go out to eat. Try to play tennis one or two nights per week. Drink lots of water. Listen to plenty of Dickey Betts and other great southern rock music. Floss every day. Get into a weight loss challenge with your best friend. Have the results posted in his office and the loser has to buy salad for two at lunch at the weekly weigh in.
