Interesting post by pastdreams. I would agree with her. However the drug suppliers are just part of the chain, ultimately it is up to the individual to say no. It is my sincere hope that some of the younger fellows in the band are choosing to say no. There is so much talent on that stage that it would be a shame to put a "filter" on it.

Good Morning all.. Just some thoughts, I know many have read this before from me.., but I am posting it for Joseph to perhaps bring a smile to his lips and heart... it is amazing how some people can just slip right into your heart and you can feel as if you know them a lifetime.. That is what happened to me with Joseph Red Dog.. our meeting was brief in 73' but, life changing in many ways for me. I was a fan of the ABB music and at a show.. and walked passed a gated area and heard a voice ..say.. Hey , come here.. walked over and this man with wild deep red hair asked if we would like to come back stage ??????????? That was the best question I could've been asked back then ..Yes, was my answer.. He put us up on the stage and I was in for the musical shock and treat of my lifetime.. I have never forgotten his kindness.. This , I now understand was his way with many fans.. he gave some an opportunity of a lifetime.. to see it all from the other side.. It was an act of unselfishness, kindness, which he found great joy in.. This, I believe is how he runs all parts of his life. With deep care, loyalty, compassion , love , fairness etc. We have stayed in touch since I found my way on Internet and to the home of the Allman Brothers and Dickey Betts , I have reintroduced myself to him and reminded him of his kindness.. none of it has washed away after all these years.. I can still feel the same excitement I felt on that day 38 yrs ago. Joseph , Red Dog has asked that I call him Joseph and I respect that and it is how I know him. So, it pains me deeply to know that he is suffering. As it would with anyone we care for as a friend , husband, son, Father, family member , brother, uncle , ..The questions about life become deeper.. The "why" questions stands alone ????? Not sure about why certain paths cross in a lifetime, but at best I guess it is something to embrace and not question.. You are given a gift from people when they open up their hearts to you..it is something you cannot define only feel it , the warmth of it, the joy of it.. It's just another Thursday and I have Joseph on my mind as I start my day.. Wishing him love , peace and no suffering, a painfree day to remember the joy of living . Keeping you in my thoughts and heart Joseph.. Keep him in all your thoughts, prayers, and get well vibes... the power of oneness can be a miracle.... Prayers to anyone who needs them are being sent. :dog: Joseph :inlove:

Has Dickey decided to go fly a kite? Tour dates are no longer listed as I'm sure you've all noticed. Being on the road may not be a healthy situation for him. I am especially disheartened by the fact that the drug suppliers are still waiting for him at every stop. While it gives them an "in" at the gigs and seem to make Dickey happy, they do him more damage than any other factor. While the younger guys are still entitled to playing around (it goes with the territory), if this is the problem then maybe everybody should think twice next time somebody offers them another hit. IMHO. Sending the sweet peach nectar of love to our :dog:.

Heard a cut from Gregg Allmans new CD today on the radio. It would seem to me that the ABB would have put out a new CD by now. Wouldn't a new ABB recording sell better then a GA release? Remember creative differences?

Thanks to JK and Pintobean for supporting The Ohio State Buckeyes!!! I know it is hard for you not support the SEC team. Thanks!! It was not pretty, but The Buckeyes hang in there and won!!! My MVP was Cameron Heyward, defenisve lineman # 97. I Love the defense.!! All the Arkansas Razorback team and fans should be proud of the great performance by your team.
