Glad to hear folks are on the mend here. Hope it stays that way. What a wonderful thing to give blood. I never did tolerate it well...got faint and nearrly passed out a few times, so I gave up on it. Nowadays, between the tatts and the amount of medication I take, no one wants it anyhow! Mitch

I wish you well Kitty and hopefully your blood is being put to good use. By the way I like Pawn Stars also!! It has been about 7 or more years since I was able to donate. Prior to that I attempted to give every 8 weeks. Donate blood people if you are able. We need all the blood we can get!!! Peach.

Wow - Capn & Nic - you're both way ahead of me in blood giving. I do it by prescription (every 2 weeks for about 3 months to get my levels somewhere in a normal range, then about 4 times a year), but have been made to stop for awhile. The ferritin (serum iron) range is usually between 20 and 190 (some places say 10 to 200). Mine was 1200 when I started and was 14 when tested in January. They won't let me donate until it gets back up to about 50.

I gave 99 pints of blood and then became ill and can no longer give blood. I was so excited about reaching the 100 pint level. I fell just a little short. That seems to be the story of my life!! haha. Thanks for the Kind words. I will send you a PM Kev. Peach.

:biggrins: Nic - that's wonderful news! :biggrins: (((TennKev))) Hope you're doing OK. Strange things that metals can do to you. I have hemochromatosis (iron overload), it's a genetic disease that makes your body store iron. The iron deposits itself in your joints and major organs, so it's important to get rid of it before too much damage is done. The only way to get rid of the extra iron is to give blood. Bummer about Pam's facebook account. And I echo what Mitch said. Why do people have to use technology for evil? Such a waste.

Its a scam. I got the same e-mail. Last week , while on Facebook, I got an instant message from a good friend, who told me he was in London, and was robbed at gunpoint...had no money, credit card or passport. I knew he was not in London, but I played along. When I asked if he needed money, I got more babble about how desperate he was, like it was a computer program, not a person responding. When I said " You're not in London, you're in Nigeria, right?", the "friend" signed off. I called my friend and he told me his daughter had just called him to tell him the same thing happened to her. What a world! If only they would use this much energy for good instead of eee-vil! Mitch

:a-ok::clapping:Outstanding Brother Nic. Two for two on the good news and we'll be sending them prayers and vibes that #3 will have them goodtime results as well. Very interesting about the heavy metal toxicity. I'm guessing that chlorella is one of the things he suggested? I took a lot of that after I had all of the metal fillings taken out of my teeth a couple of years ago. Just out of curiousity, what are the things he wants you to take? We'll definitely be praying and sending good vibes that it does the trick. Hoping that some more of our Brothers, Sisters, and friends of the kind family here are doing ok. Thanks to all for the good vibes. Indeed we do have a great bunch here.:biggrins:

I got a fairly good checkup result this morning with no evidence of new cancer growth on the external areas. Now I must wait until the CT scan and the results of any internal growth for the carcinoid cancer. That one is the silent killer and of the most concern. For the most part thing are going well so far and I am very thankful for that. The Dr did mention he has done considerable reading about rare cancers such as the two types I am battling. He is convinced that metals are mostly likely to blame, in his medical opinion, for my situation. I spent many years machining research metals for R&D Areospace research projects. Many of the materials we worked with were developed by our scientist and engineers and were new to all of us. He is the first one to shed some light on WHY during the past 3 years I have been so sick. Good luck proving that!!! I am going to begin taking an assortment of substances that he believes will help flush those metals out of my system. Pretty much natural substances. I am hoping this all helps and hopefully the results may help people in the future. Thanks so much to all of you for the support I have received here. Lizzie is correct in the fact we are such a tight knit group. We have the music of Dickey Betts and the Brotherhood of those such as RedDog to thank for that. You all are a great bunch!!!! i have to run as my neighbor just called and has a deer for me!!! Yum!!!! I need to go process it before it warms up. Peach.

Anybody else receive this email this morning. It says it's from Pam R. Does naybody know whether she was on vacation? Or is it possibly a scam? ... as I have received emails in the past from GB members that were unaware that their email addresses were compromised. "URGENT HELP NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!Pamela i'm writing this with tears in my eye,my family and I came down here to Wales UK. for a short vacation, unfortunately,we were mugged at the park of the hotel where we lodged, all cash, credit card and mobile phone were stolen off from us,but, luckily for us,we still have our passports with us.We've been to the embassy and the Police station here, but they're not helping issues at all and our flight leaves today but we're having problems settling the hotel bills, and the hotel manager won't let us leave until we settle the bills,i'm freaked out at the moment.we need a quick loan, promise to pay you back in double fold once we get home. Please help. Thanks Pamela = "

Isn't it great what a small but incredibly close knit group we've become? Hoping all your tests come back clean and healthy, Nic. Anybody else have "issues" to deal with today, good luck; youve got all of us sitting in the waiting room. My back is better, thanks for asking. Not great; I don't think it will ever be great but the rather expensive therapeutic massage I've been getting has seen miraculous results in not only my body but my well being. Haven't heard anything on the interview; it'll be whatever it'll be. I'm way past dwelling on this kind of stuff and spending more time allowing God to arrange my life - he does a far better job than I ever could. Thinking of Red Dog every day - again, the lack of information has me worried. Again, nothing any of us can control. All we can do is pray for him and continue to love him. Lookiing forward to some warm weather and maybe taking a short trip out to see Rainy; maybe stuff our late middle aged selves into some bathing suits and hit the beach (altho the blond bombshell is looking awfully slim, these days so maybe I should speak for myself). Have a blessed day, everyone. I am grateful to have y'all as my loving friends.
