Anyone know why Dickie didn't go? Also I saw this on the Facebook page for the Memorial from Dan Toler. It doesn't sound like he's doing too well. "Wish I could be there with ya`ll but my health is not good these days and I just can`t walk anymore due to spinal stenosis and I also have swollen vocal cords therefore have no voice. I am there for the Dog in spirit. He was my star third baseman on the Abb team that we played against radio stations. Although we never won a game we won the hearts of people all over the country. Red Dog was certainly a wonderful dude and one of the funniest peckerheads I ever knew. Have a great weekend everyone. Happy Easter and God bless." -=ddt=-

Setting a good example.. Kudos to you and yours.. Butch Trucks .. ahaaaa what can you say.. it is a happy day , if there is a way for Joseph to know how his brothers all feel about him, then he truly would be happy ..Butch has stepped up and over to get where he needed to be and it is with great admiration that I as a fan know this.. This is private business between people who have had many years and history together..the good , the bad , the ugly... it is life... I am not going to say I fully understand the motives and drivers for Butch re RD Memorial, and yes, there are motives and drivers. With that, if he humbly honored a friend, then cool. I think Butch loved RD, and RD loved his brother.

Thinking about Liz and all the folks in Macon today and hope they're all having a great time. Lately, I think I have discovered a technique which might help a few other people who like me sometimes have a hard time letting go of grievances, old wounds, and bitterness. My daughter's boyfriend, whom I love like a son, was having some issues with me. He doesn't understand the caustic humor in our family to begin with but I'm the kingpin. Anyway, he was graduating from Officer Candidate School at Ft Benning and we were going to attend. He had expressed his discomfort with me to my daughter who has discussed it with me. I was going to try to get him aside during the trip and sort of air out our differences and try to lay them to rest - make peace, whatever. But for some reason it dawned on me that bringing the whole thing up just brings the problem right to the forefront. What I ended up doing is just going on the trip and just completely ignoring the problem, being as friendly and kind to Rich as I knew how to be, and we had a great time. He came back to Lexington with us and stayed for a week and we never talked about differences and we all had a great time. So everything was fine between him and me and now a few weeks later, he and my daughter who have to manage a long distance relationship because she's a student at the US Naval Academy, started to have problems. They were spending their time on the phone rehashing their disagreements. She called me to talk about it and I recommended that she not go into that baggage with him any more but just sort of "live in the present." Enjoy the moment and don't go dredging up differences and making them the focal point. So when he called her next time, she put the plan into action and just acted happy to hear from him and really positive about everything going on in her life. He tried to steer the conversation back down but she said, "how 'bout we just don't go there? It's not going to help anything." He thought about it and said, "You know.....you're right!" They're back together. I don't know what technique it is or what it's called but it sure does seem to work! How's "conflict diffusion" sound? I've been more the kind to take conflicts head on but I think usually that way nobody wins. Might even congeal the wounds.

😎 I must agree with Kevin that I feel it is good that Butch showed up to pay tribute to RedDog and I give him credit for doing it. RedDog posted that Butch was still a Brother and he loved him. RedDog still hoped the hard feelings could be mended and there once again be Peace with the Brotherhood. I have read things this morning posted by fans such as by Butch showing up it should shutup the nay sayers or something to that effect. It is unfortunate if people feel that way but each person has their own opinion. I am glad he showed up. I am headed north to much needed time at Lake Erie. The entire month of April fishing has been scrubbed due to storms and high winds. April is my favorite month of Walleye fishing. I have only been out of the channel four times all spring. I am hoping for some better weather the next two weeks. We had lighting strike so close to our home last night things fell off of a shelf. But it could have been much worse. Much damage around the area lately but none here I know of!!! Peach.

As much as it saddens and aggravates me the way Butch has always handled anything that has to do w/ Dickey, I've never slighted his skills on the drums and I've gotta give him some props for showing up last night at RedDogs memorial show. RedDog was all about the brotherhood and I'm sure he loved Butch. He may have not agreed w/ him on everything, but he loved all the brothers. Again, props to the Freight Train.

Good Morning Brothers and Sisters Wondering how the Memorial for Joseph was last night.. I am sure there were plenty of tears and lumps in the throat when the Marine Honor Guard saluted one more time to Joseph.. There was a smile in heavens and a twinkle in the night sky from him. I heard from DreamLady , Lizzie yesterday morning..keeping her in my thoughts.. Hope to hear more from her today... Sending out prayers to Amy and family and all who need them... :dog: J O S E PH  :inlove: Glitter
