My wife was in Anniston, AL last night & said it was about a mile from there location.... phones & power knocked out all night but no one hurt. Said trees are down everywhere & the sky still looks angry...
...early counts have 25 confirmed dead in Tuscaloosa. Bham has deaths, but numbers are not known yet. Tornado warnings are still in effect in Alabama.
Ive seen tornado damage, but never this widespread.
Big concerns for All in the south ... hoping all our Brothers and Sisters are safe...
Kitty hoping you are feeling better...
:dog: Joseph  :inlove:
Hey John. I would catch that show!!!!! 😎
Hi Kitty. I am so much looking forward to catching Warren's new band. It is no secret my Love for the music of Warren Haynes. I so much dug him back in 89 when I first saw him with the ABB in Cincinnati. My Love for his music has not diiminished a bit!!! Peach.
We are OK, but there has been massive destruction all around us this evening. Downtown Tuscaloosa AL has been leveled. Birmingham took an F5 tornado and areas have been very hard hit.
Its not over quite yet, but if you know anyone in the areas of Birmingham (Rusty?) or Tuscaloosa, check on them.
BB King and Gregg Allman are playing in Bangor,ME on September 3rd. Might have to catch that show!
Ahh shucks Kitty thank you, but you and the rest of the ladies on this site are the sweethearts.
Great videos Rick. What great voices. Rip Phoebe. Dan's song is a freaking gut wrencher:cry:.
Thank you all for the good vibes and prayers for my friend and his family. It's much appreciated.
Hope you are recovering well too Kitty...Sending vibes and prayers your way...
Thanks for the Phoebe Snow video, Rick. 😎
Nic - We are driving to Kansas City to see The Warren Haynes Band on 5-22. Please post about your show after going, so I know what to expect. I'm really looking forward to this trip. We'll be meeting some peachy friends for a pre-show party. 😀
RIP Ms. Snow...
Hey Now. I ams sorry to hear of the passing of your friends Father Tyler. I also hope all goes well with Brent and hoping you find some relief Kitty. Amy is also in my Prayers.
The wind is blowing again and it is raining quite a bit. We just had a confirmed tornado about 30 miles west of here. The fishing is done again. I did have a couple of good daze.
Pam & I are going to Indianapolis on May 18 to see the Warren Haynes Band. We are looking forward to catching this band!!
Good luck with your new band Rick.
I hope you all have a Safe & Goodtime week. I am enjoying a bowl of chili, a fresh Walleye sandwich and a cold glass of milk!! Life is good!! Peach.
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
TennKev - you are right! I should have posted Tyler instead. :bash: I must have been a bit crazed from the anesthesia yesterday.
Tyler - love and good vibes to you, sorry about my misguided post yesterday.
TennKev, I am sending you love and good vibes anyway. You're a sweet brother. 😎
:angel:Bless your heart Kitty and thank you. I think you accidently put my name instead of Brother Tyler. Probably my bad, the way I word things. Anyway, I'm sure everyone knew that it was meant for Brother Tyler.
Continued vibes and thoughts for Tyler, Kitty(hopin' and sending vibes for your neck problem and that the shot works and you get some relief), Amy, Gina, and Luke, Brent, and anyone I may have missed.
Good read Bird72, thank you.
Hope you find the perfect fit on guitar for the band Rick. When you do, bring it up to the Carolina's or Va.:guitarist::mohawk:.
Happy hump day everybody.
BROTHERS cannot be spelled without including OTHERS
DEATH
I've wrestled with death, not mine, I'm still here annoying folk... but I guess with the med battle I had, I saw the potentiality of death. But no, I've wrestled with people dying. Special people. I've talked to countless people and spent many hours in introspection. Nobody has answers. Talked to preachers and priests and many not of the cloth....
one man of faith told me one thing, and I like it.
I have trouble feeling the ones I loved gone lived for no purpose. It bothers me much, the unfullfilled, since they were not adults.
But what I was told is a noble thing. Think of the ones gone, and think of what their best traits were. Calmness, kindness, whatever. Find one that is one you are lacking in...... and embrace it. Make it a goal to make it a trait of yours; learned albeit.
For then they left a gift, and their life had one purpose that you carry on and maybe impart on others through it's good effect.
I can find a few from Red Dog. I picked his traits of acceptance and calmness, ones I woefully need.
God Bless THE DOG, he lives on in all of us.
Thoughts, love and prayers going out to FrankieB, Forrest, TennKev's friend & family and also Brent for his eye surgery.
For those in the service, please stay safe.
TennKev - we are with you. Sending comforting vibes and my deepest sympathies to you, your friend and his family on their loss.
Brent - sending prayers for your speedy recovery.
I had an epidural in my neck (cervical) vertebrae today, so I'm hoping that takes care of some of the numbness in my left arm. More to come in my thoracic and lumbar spine regions. Just hoping it all works.
Peace and love to all here.
OK....
Well, there is Craigslist, and other venues, and this one is just as good for this type thing.
I am recruiting a guitar player/backup vocalist for a very good blues band. Obviously, there is ABB tune involvement. And obviously, the location is the Birmingham area, although gigs are already booked outside the area, with Nashville being one that is already booked.
The guys and gals in this band are all seasoned and very good. I offered to put the word out here given the reach of this Site.
Focus is ABB (Betts era) leanings, with a lot of originals and B-side stuff. The band has immediate plans to go into the studio.
PM me if interested. Thanks.
Man, I sure am sorry to read of your friends Dad, Brother Tyler. My thoughts, prayers, and sincere condolences to you, your friend, and his family.
