On another note, I wonder, if it was located close enough, if they took a little stroll down memory lane to Cambridge Common -- before they became famous, the ABB jammed in one of their impromptu set-up-and-plays there -- Berry mentions this on the 8/17/71 Boston Common show

"How Dickey can't put on a decent show anymore because of severe and ongoing substance abuse problems". Two comments. One, Rainy and Kimberly enjoyed the show(s) that they went to this past week. I'm sure others did as well, so it's a matter or opinion.......comprendo? Two, as stated before, 99.9% have no idea what Dickey does or doesn't do prior, during, or after a show. Or during his down time. Unless you are in the inner circle and know things as fact, then you really shouldn't comment. You can assume all you want, but you know the old saying about assumptions.

Dickey was in Cambridge, Mass. yesterday as the honored guest of Forrester Research CEO George Colony there's nice pic of the two of them in this morning's paper (Globe) along w/this blurb: "Guitarist Dickey Betts was the main attraction at Forrester Research's barbecue in Cambridge yesterday. Forrester CEO George Colony is a huge Allman Brothers fan and has named conference rooms in the building after members of the group. Yesterday's party celebrated the opening of the company's green-certified headquarters." Yes, "legions of fans everywhere" -- that's what Dickey has -- you rock, brother

I took it away because of a spelling problem. I know how you get with the poor spelling your highness. Appear soft in front of my friends. Given the fact that many here are "MY" friends, I can be myself whether that be hard or soft, and will be accepted. Maybe you could learn a little bit from that.

I'm not saying that the C word was deserved. However, the C word was used much, much later in this mess. You had posted many, many times after your first post and wrote offensive things towards Dickey, Mr. King, and countless others well before the C word was brought out. The C word might have been a little harsh? Maybe clueless, tactless, piss poor judgement, sh*t stirrer etc., would have been more appropriate. However, I've met Capn and Mr. King in person. They are kind, giving, and caring people. They are also intelligent enough not to bash Dickey Betts on a DB website or an ABB website. If they felt the need to label you as such, so be it. Who's corner do you think I'm gonna be in? Oh, that is choice. You the bad girl? Ohh nooooo. Clearly the fifteen that you speak of are all wrong. You did nothing wrong and had nothing to do with this sh*tstorm. For someone prides themself on being high society and so much more intelligent than us "common folk", you seem to be having a hard time grasping "big picture" here.

"But yes you're right, I know how people are on this site. I expected to get called names either way. Not exactly high society over here now is it". The words above are yours Amy. My post to you was not created to be touching, it was created in response to you attacking folks on this site. I am sorry you have so much hatred in your Heart. Peach.

Sorry, but insulting members here in the Guest Book is one thing... Insulting Dickey here on his own site is something else.

Ok Amy, now my turn. So you think you know how people are on this site??? I would like to tell you a few things about people on this site as well as people on the ABB site. They are both full of Kind, Caring and Loving people who support and take care of each other. Just because we don't agree on a subject such as the firing of Dickey does not make us any less of an individual or person. That goes for folks at both sites. We all have our opinion. I wonder if you know what it is like to have a terminal illness and count everyday as a blessing??? Well I do and I come to this site mostly for the Fellowship I receive from folks here. Same goes for the ABB site. Through this site I met Dan Toler and he has helped me find God through Jesus Christ. I have witnessed dozens of times people at both sites reaching out to lend a person a helping hand in their time of need. Most recently the Dan Toler benefit comes to mind. There is also times when folks have received $$ in the mail to help them get over the hump and that person in need did not even know the origin of where the $$ came from. A Kind Brother from this site recently even offered to help pay for my Wife and I to fly to the Frankie Toler benefit in Florida. I have met some of the finest folks during my life from these sites. So please don't began putting down folks over here just because they hang here. These people are hard working compassionate people who care for each other. It is normal for them to respond to you the way they have when you come to this site and openly attack Dickey. If you don't want to waste your $$ on going to a Dickey Betts and Great Southern show please stay home. Please don't come to the internet home of Dickey and attack him. I hope you have a Safe & Goodtime Labor Day Holiday. Peach.

LMAO, and you are "high society"? That is the funniest thing I've read all day. Ok, let's examine your first post, shall we. "Um rainy dear, how many times have YOU commented on a DBGS show that you did not attend? Is it suddenly illegal to comment on shows you did not attend? You can discredit that thread all you want, the fact is you cannot stop people from having their opinion. God forbid anyone try to stop you from having yours... By the way, more bad reviews in that thread on the blue site. And lots of disappointed fans who are only just sad to see a guitar hero lose his dignity publicly on stage like that. What a mess." The first glaring comment was the sarcastic, smart a*sed comments to Rainy. If she wasn't such a kind, caring, real lady(very unlike yourself), she would have responded to you with a BIG ol' FU. The next comment was towards Dickey. While I've certainly read much worse towards Dickey, "guitar hero losing his dignity publicly, on stage......what a mess", isn't a real good or even remotely intelligent way to make a first impression on the DICKEY BETTS website. :bash:Hello McFly.............are we getting thru yet? Again, what the hell do you expect? And again, why aren't you on another site where you will fit in a little bit better? Why? Because you like to stir poopie.

Dickey has not had a good band with him since the lineup from 2002, (to my ears, which only I can speak for, tastes and opinions vary thank goodness) that was one groovin' band! Dave on bass, Mark on drums, Kris on sax, Matt on keyboards/vocals, and Dangerous Dan on guitar along with Dickey. Love listening to those shows, they played Jessica and High Falls better than the current ABB lineup. His band now is just loud, do not seem to be playing together at all, not what I expect from Dickey, and of course Dickey has changed too. But nothing stays the same. That being said, I would still go see him if he came around my area. I would just go with the mindset that it is not the music I remember. Never pass up a chance to see a legend!
