Welcome fellow Betts fans. As a Florida-based writer who in the past decade has interviewed Dickey Betts and Great Southern members Mike Kach (keyboards/vocals), Pedro Arevalo (bass/vocals), Frankie Lombardi (drums/vocals) as well as Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Devon Allman, Susan Tedeschi and Joseph "Red Dog" Campbell figured I'd finally join this guestbook I frequently read and share. Here's are two recent stories I broke for my employer, The Bradenton Herald/McClatchy Newspapers, that might interest you:
"Former Allman Brothers Band guitar greats to reunite: Dickey Betts and Great Southern are headling Dan Toler benefit in Sarasota"

Haven't been here in ages while the computer was in the hospital - thanks, dear Jim, for those pictures. That old one of me, though, while incredibly beautiful :greenhair: is from way back in the day when I was just meeting up with some young randy southern boys that brought me to this wonderful place. Well, in that case, maybe it fits. It always serves as a reminder as to just how long I've been on this journey and yet how fast it went. What a long strange trip it's been. Love and peaches to y'all, Dreams
Yea Clapton & Beck the might be good someday...lol!

I I'm giving guitar lessons to a very level-headed and polite fourteen year old whose parents have instilled her with great musical influences, including our hero. she recently stopped in the middle of a practice pattern and asked, "Was he really born in the back of a Greyhound bus?... that's so cool". The inspiration continues, and it always will.
Just stopping by to say hello. many thanx to everyone for sending me thing to keep my sanity, should be leaving this place Dec28thand back home Jan 15th. I will be making stops to the east coast for a few weeks and hope to see a few of you. florida in march or april, nj ny wva in feb.
Yesterday while listening to the local news station in the car 880 am, they were talking about Steve Jobs and Rambling Man was playing in the background - very cool moment
RIP Yankees - can't believe how weak their bats were last night - uggghhhhh
Probably Posada's last game as a Yankee - will miss him
Dang, Rainy! Where'd you come up with that? Purty dern good!
So is the Macon gig confirmed?
Hey Bayou Blue,I've been trying hard to find out early whats happenning down in Nov,It will be a miracle in the macon, I did come across something that gels this thing together,it's wierd,we have plans to go see the kids in alabama for the lsu,ala game, cindy's flying, I'm driving down with a washer and dryer or four, and all of a sudden I hear about a friday night show and a sunday show just when I'm scheduled to be driving and driving back through georgia, but what I did come across was the pow wow at stone mountain nov 3-6,see what I mean about things gelling together,it's better than a thanksgiving day parade,I'm keeping the faith and I can't wait,it's strange that plans really can come together for ramblers like all of us,the big eagle can always deliver an early christmas present, always has!
sorry to hear about Steve Jobs
can't stop wondering what he would have conceived if he had more years
One of the guys that made this site possiable has just passed away ..Steve Jobs. RIP. If it wasn't for him this place would not exist.
Betts and Barbeque.... a winning combination!
I meant they seem to bite everybody else's hook but mine - even with the same bait!
Well, I don't know anything about cameras or photography but both those pics are really terrific from my perspective. Jim. You seem to have a very good ability to capture a scene in the lensfinder. Thanks for posting those!
