Luke...I haven't seen him in a real long time, but...is it Duane Trucks in the pic?
LTHEIRRY, nice final thoughts on it all. the level of umm, "gamesmanship" happening on this site's GB caused the addition of Moderators as I was asked I do, but it was really cool to see some strong opinion flow and flow back and peace settle in all on it's own and I commend everyone having the right mindset and happy mode on..... kindness always feels better in the end...
:cool::D
Glad you had a good time TennKev!
Yes, my dream came true last Friday night in Chicago and I still can't believe it happened! The years of musical inspiration and joy Dickey has brought to me through his music is immeasurable. It was a great, great honor and experience for me to have met my guitar hero and tell him how much he means to me! And he was so kind to take a picture with me as well! An absolute incredible night I will never forget!
😎
Amen LTHIERRY, some mighty kind folks on this site. I understand your comment concerning an earlier configuration of Great Southern. I loved that line up too. Shucks, I've enjoyed all of the different configurations of GS.
Heck, I miss the powerhouse that was the Dickey/Warren combo that flat out knocked my socks off and got me on the bus.
Get it while ya can, I guess.
Go Big Red Machine.......beat up on those Pirates.
Rainy, that boy's soaked up about as much southern as you can soak. Here's another one which might have special meaning to guestbook members -

i just wanted to say that out of all the years ive been a part of this website the many times in the early days, nobody ever responded to any of my post and i wasnt directing my comments to any particular folks here. it just seems like through the years ive watched people bicker back and forth and i assumed writing a not so good review was going to bring out some soap box pulpit preaching, and i was quite wrong. im glad to be a part of such down right good people with great taste in music above all. there is a special breed here and a wonderful one at that. We live in the music and out on the road trying to get that next fix of joy from heavenly music that is hard to come by these days. i appreciate people here.
:dog:  :inlove: :dog:
Sorry I wasn't trying to start a lively discussion..I was trying to figure out how two reviews could be the opposite..and yes I can take the bad with the good so once again sorry if I caused any problems.
Dan
Nope:bike: & sure ain't that Greenwell fella
Luke is that Rich Cramer or his brother in the black shirt on the Home Page with Dickey, Derek and Susan?
It is fun guessing!
Love, Kimberly
Rainy...sort of looks like bluedad might be a little gazied up in that pic - feeling no pain.
i love theman and always will. Despite this past weekend instead of wallowing in negativity i will revel in the magical years back when dave stoltz and chris jensen and mitch greenburg were making magical music every night out. and definetaly cant leave out the late great dangerous dan toler. i will never forget those days and thats where i will leave my mind to dwell. The cat in the hat will always be the man in my eyes! the positive vibe far out weighs one bad show. keep on truckin Dickey, the legend that he is...i know he will. peace
Sorry you didn't enjoy the show LTHIERRY. Like Rainy said, hope the next one you go to gives you that good time feeling. Not really sure how having a different opinion on a show makes one a hypocrite. And for the record, I didn't have close seats, so I couldn't see the looks on any of the band members faces, but the folks that I was around seemed to have a pretty darn good time while Dickey was playing.
Cool pic of Bluedad and Dickey. Pam was able to pull up some facebook pics from the Chicago show on her phone. Saw a good pic of Dickey and Brother Tyler too. Already had a big ol' smile on my face the whole night, but it got even wider lookin' at the pics from Chicago. Looked and sounds like Brothers Tyler, Tony, and Bludaddio had 'um a good ol' time in Chitown.
TennKev sounds like a great time..:)
:waving:
also there is a great picture of Bluedaddio and Dickey on ABB AG forum.. go check it out.. I tried to copy and post here but no can do 🙁
:dog:  :inlove:
:tearhair: Dat blasted edit button. Make that I can't "thank" Pam and her crew enough.
TK, good to hear from you and glad you had such a good time. To Tyler, yeah, bluedad, is a great guy and I definitely owe him a lunch next time I get to Aiken if I can track him down. Last time he wouldn't let me buy - said he would eat anything paid for with confederate money...
It's very interesting reading different peoples take on the same show. Nothing wrong with giving an honest review as long as it is done tasteful and tactful.
I think the Lawrenceburg show was the farthest I have ever driven to see a show. Va. to In. is a pretty long haul, but it was worth every penny. The show was free, but hotel, gas, etc. didn't come with the same price tag. Again, worth every penny.
Getting to hang out with Pam, her son, and his girlfriend was just soooooooo much fun. Not even taking into account a free show w/ all those great artists, it was worth it just to hang out with those great folks. Also got to meet Pedro's Mom in the pre show party hotel. Total sweetheart and had such a great time hanging out and talking with all of these fine folks.
The show? Well, we were all having such a good time hanging out, talking, and knocking back a few, we got there a little bit late. Missed the Outlaws, and Richie Furray Poco. Got there in time to see all of Dave Mason, the cat from the Guess Who...Burton Cummings, and of course Dickey and the boys.
Never seen Dave or Burton and was totally blown away by those cats. I said a couple of times that Dickey was going to have to bring his A game to match what those cats laid down. I'm not a huge Guess Who fan, but I thought Burton and of course Dave M. did a fabulous job.
Dickey? I thought High Falls was a little disjointed and didn't flow all that great, but by the time they started on the 2nd song of the night, Ain't Nothing You Can Do, I thought they tightened things up quite nicely. From then on, I thought the show freakin' rocked!!! Dickey and the gang soared and had me flying with them the rest of the night. Personally, I never noticed any issue with the volume. We all know Dickey likes it loud, but I didn't notice much difference between his volume and the previous acts.
I asked the crew I was with who they thought was the best act of the three we saw and they all said Dickey was the best. Honestly, I freakin' loved them all.
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder and all of the bands that I saw had me liquored up and grooving hard the whole night.
Great company, great music. A night I'll never forget and can't think Pam and her crew, and all of those great musicians enough.
lthierry (and others), i apologize for the show comments made earlier that i have now deleted. i was acting like a mom reacting to something negative someone said about one of her kids (inappropriate and silly in this context). hope to meet you at a show someday. peace.
