LIVESTREAM FROM BRADENTON BLUESFEST

There has never been a guitar player like Duane. His playing went far beyond the hype and all styles of playing. No one comes close to his slide guitar, and there are many great one's to include.
In 1976, I decided to give back and honor Duane's music, legacy, and genius. I hope all of you who truly care about this music and it's future to support the 'Jam for Duane' event that we hold each year. jamming for Duane!
Go Mizzou! Beat the Ga waterboys.
Roll Tide, still the best team in America!
Saturday Hey to make y'all feel better in warmer climes, especially those in Florida.... -8 here now but it will warm up to +4 today, yippee. My windows are mostly iced up.....
Looking forward to TedeschiTrucks next Wednesday in Spokane, first "real" conceret in a few years. Very fortunate to be going, and the youtube videos of the band are great.
The painted guitar talk is interesting. Anyone know "The Fool"? Probably one of the most famous painted ones. Claptons Cream Gibson SG, Peter Max like great hippie art.
Thats true Pinto..Badfinger was a great band!
Glad to have brought a smile to you Rainy!
Mitch
Rainy, was it a V8? *BONK!*
Good Morning :sunny:
I was on my work break last night about 8 pm I guess and as I was enjoying my beverage I thought I'd look at DBGB.
Mitch that was a great story and it cracked me up and I lost half my beverage... LOL  Thanks for sharing.
:dog:  :inlove:
I guess its good discussion when one talks about "the great contributions of Duane Allman" because, given his short time with us, he contributed so much.
I don't have a vote for any "one" contribution; creating the ABB would be easy to say that is the one, and leave it there. Perhaps so.
I tend however to think about Layla, as a stand alone epic. Duane made it real. Sheer luck maybe, or perhaps a look into sheer genius.
So on my wall, I wanted both. Duane and Filmore East next to Duane and Layla. Representing both sides of the greatest. Both albums were game changers in my day.
Duane Allman-the Greatest.
absolutely
Mitch, take comfort in the fact that Pete Ham was one of the all time greatest and go put whatever you want on your guitar.
hahaha Mitch you and SRV 🙂
cool
The only thing I once did to a guitar, was put my initials on the pickguard.....M A H
At the time, my stuff was in a small room with a full length mirror. Being just a bit vain, I looked into it to "admire " my beautiful new Gibson, and all I could see was the backwards reflection on my initials. H A M.
That was the last time I put anything on a guitar.
Mitch

Kinda like a sexy girl getting fat.....:freaked::homer::lol::nono:.....:D
If the wrapped acoustic guitar has a pick-up & is to be played thru an acoustic amp ( w/ feedback muffle etc) then the tone change will be negligible......I'd hesitate to do it to an acoustic w/ a nice sound......interesting all the same & look forward to the pix....
Hi Dobro:
I am having the guitar hand painted over wrapped. I would agree with you re a wrapped guitar changing the sound/tone.

OK...dummy me has now watched the whole clip and he doesn't have to wait till he's twelve!
Very cool! This little fella might have his very own Les Paul signature model by the time he's twelve!
Rick, are you having it painted from the raw maple or over the original finish? I'm investigating a Highway Call poster copied digitally and being "wrapped" onto one of my acoustics. It will likely change the sound but we'll see.
haha that is awesome Rainy....
Here ya go Dan.. Thanks for the info
