My personal feeling is that if it happens, then I want to be there to witness it firsthand, because, as Derek clearly states, its a wrap up at that point.

Hey, Stevechild! Great video. Capn, has lead me into some great stuff by Pedro and Duane and I think those two guys are really fantastic! I really enjoy their material more than DBGS or ABB in their current states. Can't wait til they get in a studio somewhere with a great producer.

Glad your back where you belong Brother Capn! Sending lots of prayers and (((((healing vibes))))) your way! Thanks for the article TennKev! Derek is most definitely a class act! Time will tell if the fences have been mended enough for Dickey to get together again with the Brothers. If I remember correctly, I believe our RedDog said that it would happen at some point and his may very well be the time. Finish off the band by letting it come full circle. Hope y'all are staying warm...been a cold one here in Brew City... At least we don't need a cooler and ice to keep our beer cold! 🙂

A very speedy recovery to you, Capn! Glad to hear it was quick. Reading these heartfelt posts today has me hoping for something I'm not quite sure of, but it would involve a Gibson guitar and a Hammond organ. Anyone have any thoughts about the Atlanta show? It would be great if it were streaming somewhere in cyber-world. You folks are truely dedicated to this great music an Mr Betts. I'll be camping here for a few days....

It was still an amazing moment when he stepped out onstage, however, it wasn’t a shock. But when Dickey came out, you could tell it meant something. The thing I enjoyed about it is that it wasn’t lost on anybody. It was some sort of bridge, some kind of minor healing to the whole saga. That, to me, was the point of it. I am glad to read Derek expressing that emotion... I felt it somehow via the youtube clips and the immediate buzz it created on the interwebs... despite all the naysayers etc... it always revolves back around to Betts & his spirit of brotherhood that is reflected in his playing... Warren & Derek's playing ability right now are technically superior in everyway to Dickey BUT they could never capture that vibe.... i hope they can get everyone together for one last dance.

  It sure is Rainygirl. Derek is one cool cat. Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi appear on the current cover of Relix. The accompanying story written by editor Dean Budnick focuses on the development of the Tedeschi Trucks Band. In the piece Trucks also discusses the Tedeschi Trucks Band show from this past September 21 in which founding Allman Brothers Band member Dickey Betts, who left the ABB in 2000, returned to the stage at the Beacon Theatre with the TTB. “I’ve seen a lot of moments at the Beacon,” Trucks reflects. “I think I’ve been there for 170 shows and that one had a unique feel because it was pretty unexpected. When Clapton played with the Allman Brothers, everyone already knew—the word had gotten out. That, to me, was the point of it.” Trucks is certainly warm to the idea of Betts returning to the stage with the Allman Brothers at some point during the 45th anniversary shows, after which he and Warren Haynes will depart the group. Derek offers, “I think not only for the band and the legacy but for the audience too it would be something nice to tie it up. The whole story of the band is this dysfunctional crazy family and it has been from the beginning. I think that’s one of things that draws people to that music, there’s a humanity about it and I think for it not to go out right would be a shame especially when it’s still tangible. I just think it’s the right sentiment but we’ll see…”

Been reading lots of posts over on the ABB in re: to Warren and Derek ..there is a new one posted about the possibility of a DB reunion with the ABB and it was said by Derek.. I have always had this as a visual fantasy of mine that Dickey would join the ABB for a reunion even if only a temporary one. I have lived the moment many times over in my minds eye.. it would be filled with an indescribable emotional tear filled, full of joy, euphoria, heart exploding, can't find the words moment, in time. Sorta like the one I had about 41 yrs ago on a stage that seemed to touch heaven and standing about 6 ft from DB and even closer to Gregg.. my best friend still has the cup he was drinking from... it was because of Red Dog letting us backstage that I have that treasured moment and some great photos too.. I'll post later.. yes, I was in the right place at the right time.. the music they made to me was revolutionary it made sense to me and I understood every note, it spoke to me on a very personal level. I felt that DB was the messenger and he still is.. he plays and I hear and I will follow.. 🙂 Some good reading.. http://www.relix.com/news/detail/derek_trucks_on_a_potential_dickey_betts_reunion_with_the_allman_brothers :dog:  :inlove:

Good afternoon Brothers and Sisters, Greetings from New York city. Just got the news about Warren and Derek. I wish them well, Warren has always been so accessible and it has been appreciated. Good luck to both! Hope all is well out there. Warming up a little here in Gotham. KLBazur "Dickey?…. Dickey Betts is as bad as bad can be." Duane Allman radio interview, 1971

Very well said, Rainy. Your words echo the thoughts of many of us. I think we've been expecting this for some time now. Warren and Derek certainly have many oppurtunities to branch out and evolve even further. Can Oteil be far behind? I suppose it will sell as long as Gregg, Butch and Jaimo are there, but I would rather see it end with some dignity instead of a slow spiral. Maybe the next generation will "take over the business". The good news is that Dickey's bus will soon be loading and heading up the road...hopefully to Rainy's neighborhood! OK, even here in Florida that polar vortex was a bad, bad doggie. I lost one coconut palm but that pales in contrast to what many have suffered in the past week. Stay warm and keep the faith! The sun shall warm us all. Capn, please let us know how you're doing.

Rainy...and everyone stay safe and warm.Heard about some temperatur relief, very glad about. Now,not so much interested in ABB material since Hittin the Note. Dark mooded music with not a single song in a major key as far as I remember. Can call it progressive or whatever, but DBGS is just more fun.
