Good Morning DB Guest Book..
Well as most have read Warren and Derek will be departing from the ABB and as Dan has stated .. for me as well, the ABB was not the same band without our Dickey Betts front and center bending and twisting his notes and strings on his toes and right from his heart to ours.. they were a good band but for me the devastation came when DB no longer stood in with them. My loyalties and my personal musical taste and preference lie with Mr. Betts.. his sound engulfs the ABB.. it took all of them to make that beautiful music but when you take him out.. a major component was missing . With Derek and Warren I feel as if the ABB were a cover band of their music.. I saw ABB 2 times since DB and felt empty hearted when I left. Not they were not great musicians but for me it was a different band..
These men Warren and Derek are still young enough to go forward and make more music and cut out their own path which they have already done but with the ABB they were introduced to thousands of fans who love this particular music and that has created an bigger platform for their talents.
So on that note .. I wish them all well and the road does go on forever.. but for some it's time for a rest and to pull over and enjoy the fruits of their labor of love..
I hope DBGS play some dates in NY or LI .. I missed the last time ..so I hope to get another chance to see and hear them.
Blue Sky days ahead ..alittle sun heat would be good.. BRRRR it's cold..

Had me 2005 a Les Paul with Burstbuckers. Now saving some $$$ for a SG with '57 PUs. Wonder if it would make sense to change them from one Guitar to the other. Color of choice would be vintage cherry though,black...anyway,Dickey here I come !!!
It has for me now 14 years now. The ABB died in June of 2000. I just wonder what took Derek and Warren to make up their minds. I love both of their playing and I just couldn't figure out why they stayed around for so long . I know there a thousand of people happy they did and that is okay. But for the last time I saw them Dickey was still in the band.
It's on Warren's website and has been picked up by the Wall Street Journal. I'm blown away by this. I can't imagine life with no more ABB.
Hey there folks! Looks like some big news about The ABB coming out of New York. Pretty shocked to hear it but nothing lasts for ever...Good luck to Derek and Warren...
01.08.14 WARREN HAYNES AND DEREK TRUCKS TO DEPART ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND AT END OF 2014
(New York, NY) January 8, 2014 -- For 25 years and 15 years respectively, we've had the honor and pleasure of playing, living, learning, and traveling with the Allman Brothers Band, one of the truly legendary rock and roll bands. We will be forever grateful for the opportunity and the experience, and for the love, enthusiasm, and support of the incredible fans. We are both preparing to dig even deeper into our various creative and musical endeavors and, as a result, 2014 will be our final year as part of the band. We are looking forward to seeing our loyal ABB fans at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta this Friday night January 10th and in March at the Beacon Theater in New York City as we celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the band. - Warren Haynes & Derek Trucks

OK that's just off the chain, Jonesy! He just didn't want to stop. Once he gets that slide figured out, they can put a Braves cap on him and cast him as Derek in the movie! I hope these guys stick together. It appears that two may be actual brothers, and it would make a great band if they let it season for a few years. Thanks for the find.
The Seminoles can hold their heads high and be proud, just as the Auburn Tigers should. They all deserve it for a great football game.
:guitarist: Good stuff Jonesy. Thanks Bro.
Dont sweat it Rick......Auburn had a storybook season and bowl game they will remember for years to come....I wouldn't say they fell apart, but FSU has been a good team all year and both sides wore each other out.....my money's STILL on the SEC & I'm happy to see the conference have contenders outside of Bama-LSU-FLA.....
How about my 4th ranked Gamecocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:beer:
Well Jim, my Auburn Tigers just, well, fell apart there.
Im very proud of them and am looking forward to next season.
WAR EAGLE!!
Hi everyone. I saw this video and was blown away by it...y'all got to watch it. It is that kid from Long Island who is ten years old who is getting a lot of press and some have already posted here. But what's special about this is that this is a band of very young men jamming to Jessica and quite well i might add. If Dickey Betts ever looks at anything on the web he should check this out and be proud that the music he wrote many years ago endures for the ages.

Bigfoots been assassinated :-(. Who's is going to do the beef jerky commercials now?
Congrats to FSU and all of their fans. Heckuva game it looks like. Being an old fart, I went to bed somewhere around 9:30 and Auburn was up 14-3. Kinda surprised as lucky as Auburn has been this year, I figured they would win. Goes to show, you don't ever know.
Hope all you cats are doin' alright. Try to stay warm.
Thanks, Tom!
Mark,
I have all 4 MYE shows up for B&P in the ABB/Forums/Music.
