that video (9/10/73) is 2 months before I saw them in Detroit... same line up and setlist... only the zoot suits are different Just learned recently that "Southbound" was also written for Sandy (Bluesky)... so she and Jessica had quite an influence on Dickey's song writing back then (Sandy said she was also in Detroit that night)

A comment from a concert goer from the Pittsburgh show: the1fletch3 months ago Oh My God! I can't believe I found this on here. (Johnny576375, are you from Pittsburgh?) I was at this concert in the long, gone Syria Mosque. They were opening for Fleetwood Mac. I was in a band back then when I attended Churchill Area High and our drummer called me wanting to know if I wanted to go see a concert. I asked who was on the bill. He told me and I almost took a pass on it. Never had heard of either of the bands at that time. When we got there I had to use the men's room. I'm standing there at the urinal beside this guy with a cowboy hat on (which I thought was weird; you don't see many in Pittsburgh). We both had fringe jackets on. As we were washing up, I turned to him and said, "Hope these guys are good." This guy looks at me with this big grin on his face and says. "I sure hope so, too." I take my seat and they introduce the band, and I see this guy playing guitar. I said to our drummer, "I was just in the men's room with him." Here I had been drainin' the monster next to Forrest Richard "Dickey" Betts. Blew me away. We just laughed. DIckey probably got a kick out of my comment to him. HA! And the band put on a tremendous concert. I was so blown away knowing that I was seeing the Allman Brothers Band for the first time in the 'Burgh...and lovin' them. Later in college, my first roommate was from Macon, GA. He and I used to play all the Allman Brothers' songs and riffs on our acoustic Martins. We loved them (still do). On a trip down with him to visit his family in Macon, we visited Duane and Berry's grave sites in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon. What a peaceful section of the cemetery. A moving experience. I really grieved their passing. Truly a sad time
