Johnny Winter RIP, one of the greatest bluesmen in history. We just saw him 6 /13 @ Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland and got to chat with him for a little while. Can't believe he's gone. One of the all-time all-timers.
The 'Sky Is Crying" once again. RIP Johnny Winter
Just back in from Chicago and an hour ago heard that Johnny Winter has died in Switzerland...another musician to join the orchestra in the sky! I will miss him and the shows I was lucky to photograph him. Kimberly

Dobro, be kind to those pintobeans, man. It hurt to think about you boiling my brothers.
Dobro - those beans sound out of sight! Now, you need some spice-rubbed ribs, cooked low and slow with some cherry wood smoke and some cold PBRs or Dixies to go with. Gotta stop, I'm making myself hungry!
BTW - that bass sounds like a fun toy.
Jimmy graham signs deal...4 more years of Graham Slams !

Funny that you ask..... I'm actually cookin up some pinto beans today with some Virginia ham-hocks and sweet Georgia onion. Cornbread's close behind!
Received a new Epiphone "Allen Woody" Rumblekat bass on Friday and spent the weekend havin fun with that. Short scale (30 in), punchy and super easy to play.
It's monsoon season here....rain for the past week.
Good thoughts for Dickey's eye to heal.
Any news?
So what's happening out there? How you folks doing?
Very good review and nice pics, too, Mike. Thanks for sharing.
Good to see all the new tour dates. I wonder why this one is not on there for Chicago 8-16?

There is also some word that GS might play nearby on 8-15 at CD and Me, which seems strange given the proximity of time and place. Nothing listed yet:

suggestion--take a good look at the link Dobro posted underneath, there are a lot of excellent videos of the ABB from the late 70's and early 80's. I was at a few of those Capitol Theatre shows, they were great. The 4/20/79 show is really smoking, take a look at the Jessica video. Dickey just kills it, and it shows the early seeds of how the ABB and GS played Jessica in subsequent years. What is interesting is that Gregg plays the B3 on the piano part and Dickey does the rest. Dangereous Dan didn't take a solo the way Warren did in later years. Anyway, just some observations, Betts was clearly the ringleader
I had not seen this little gem before. Short but sweet. No question who's steering the ship on this one!
Dang, that Bonnie sure knew how to turn some heads. She helped ignite the Spandex revolution. Pat Benetar may have seen this and said, "Mom, I'm going shopping".
(Nice to see Rainy's posts...maybe she'll teach us how to actually embed these videos!
