Excellent review by Mr Beebe! Even better when a fine musician comes away highly impressed.
Hope you're all well.
I got that you're a huge faggot and why'd you'd be making stupid comparisons knowing it would fck up the guest book is beyond me. I guess when you do it it's OK.
Well, even though the eyeballs of the Allman Mule Truck are not almost falling out they are burned out and giving up, whereas Dickey is out there on the road. That seems more like the obvious to me. Got it?
Well Walter, now you've forced me to point out the obvious, that Dickey's eyeball practically fell out of his skull and he JUST got back on the road after cancelling shows yet again. So "going strong" is not exactly the case.
*** THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND 1969 - 2014 ****
With or without Dickey, this band cannot be beaten.
A poster by the screen name of Musicandnature posted this fantastic review of Dickey's Chicago shows last August 3 - 4, on the Forum. Too good not to post on the GB,

Guess I'm one also... Trying to listen to Instrumental Illness can do that to an ABB fan...
That is an Allman Mule Truck instrumental for certain...

Well, I'm a pretty retarded guy, so to me the spectacle of the ABB closing up shop and Dickey still going strong is a pretty cool irony. I hope Dickey keeps the ABB tradition going forward for many years to come.
Seems like a retarded thing to say to me, that's all.
heading to the show... that is all
Just an observation, that's all. Seems like a delicious irony to me and if you don't like that, it's fine with me.
What the f*ck does one have to do with the other? Nothing.
Based on all the reviews it seems now that the Allman Mule Truck is stuck in a pothole, the Cat In The Hat is just hitting his stride! Thanks for the info, Marilyn!
Chris, that oughta be the homepage music! Outa sight!
I stumbled across this yesterday, going through some old CDs. This was a quick demo of a song I wrote and the band (C.R. and the Rabble Rousers) learned on the spot. We just hung one mic in the room, everyone learned the song and we were off to the races. This was ten years ago in 2004.

Scituate show delayed four hours due to unsafe stage that the crew members fixed themselves. Couple of acts were cancelled and others merged such as Toni Lynn Washington singing with James Montgomery's band. Thus Dickey started 2.5 hours later than scheduled. Leon Russell sounded wonderful although he has trouble walking. Dickey looked and sounded great.
Thanks for the update...I assume the weather delayed everything...Did you get to see Leon Russell ? Saw him on the 4th of July and he was great...must be nice to see two hall of famers at an outdoor festival.

I saw them yesterday in Scituate and got to speak briefly with Dickey and Duane before the show and Andy after. The whole schedule was delayed by two hours (it was an all day event) but Dickey was in good spirits, played well and it was an enjoyable performance. Set list (best I can recall) - High Falls, Statesboro Blues w/James Montgomery on harmonica, Nothing You Can Do, Franklin's Tower/Blue Sky, One Way Out w/James Montgomery, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, Ramblin Man - Jessica Encore. close to 90 mins. Large and appreciative crowd. Dickey played a Les Paul and it sounded good - great tone.
Any reviews and set lists from the weekend?
Hey anybody coming to the Stockton Show ? Its in Mays landing NJ. There are plenty of seats left come on down an see a great show. Mays Landing is about 20 miles right outside of Atlantic city..Hope to see a full house Dickey always plays a hot show when the joint is sold out.

Got to see James Mcmurtry for free last night at the Railyard here in Santa Fe and though I wasn't familiar with his music a good friend was a fan so I went and he was actually very good. Was always a fan of his dad Larry Mcmurtry who wrote Lonesome Dove and many other great works of fiction. Still waiting for Dickey to come back out west. I kind of miss living in the northeast where there was never a shortage of great shows!
