Capn, have you ever heard any of the Mickboy remasters? Heck if I know who/what Mickboy is, but he remastered the entire Rolling Stones catelog, Layla, ABB Beginnings, and a whole host of other stuff and they're all bootlegs, not for sale. The Mickboy version of Layla is incredibly crystal clear with excellent sound separation and I can say the same thing for everything else I've heard from him. If you listen to all the different Tom Dowd alternate mixes of the D&D material his genius is quite evident. The only way I can describe Mickboy is he went behind Dowd and sort of cleaned it up some....you can hear every plunk of Radle's bass, every Gordon cymbal, the two guitars and the vocals have more distinct sound separation. You ain't really heard Exile on Main St until you've heard the Mickboy!
I'd be interested if anyone else around here has more info about Mickboy.

Zito's replacement - Bart Walker 😎
http://youtu.be/dtHXgBxSbEo
He sings kind of gritty like Grinderswitch! VERY bluesy!
Answers... Yes, Mike, if you're going to see them tonight, Zito will be with the band.

Dang, hate hearing that about Zito. Excellent guitarist and I'd say he was the rock and roll edge of the band. Now it will probably tilt toward an even bluesier sound with Cyril and Devon. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise because none of them thought it would work to have 5 CEO's in a band. Do you know whether he will be replaced? They oughta try to grab Pedro!
Also, what a great day that was 44 years ago, Capn. Layla is my all time favorite album. I don't think more than two or three weeks ever go by without my listening to it.
BTW... Mike Zito has left RSB
On Aug. 26, 1970, The Allman Brothers Band was playing a concert at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
During the same time, Eric Clapton was in Miami recording his new project Derek and the Dominos.
Clapton decided to catch the ABB. After the show, Eric and Duane Allman started talking and Eric invited invited Duane to come to Criteria Studios, were he was recording at.
Allman was happy just to observe, but Clapton insisted he grab his guitar and play.
The sessions began that very night where they reportedly jammed until the next evening.
It stands to this day as one of the most famous collaborations in Rock and Roll history.
Think "Layla"!!!!! 44 years ago today.
Haha Terry I think you just made Wally moist with that idea. lol :smoke:
