Happy Friday to all... Saw Heart last night at the ohio state fair... good show that Ann Wilson can still bring it with that strong voice.
Where is my buddy Jim King? Looks like he has deleted all of his gb posts?
dobro.. that was a great post...
LOL... I lost my musical virginity to the Allman Brothers Band...
So... dont feel like it is to much info.. we can handle it... we all understand... That is the beauty of being here...
I will always remember seeing the ABB for the first time... although I was not lucky enough to see Duane and Berry as the founding members of this love team of men.. It was not wasted on me... the message was getting to me.. it just took longer for me to hear it...
But, when I did ... it was unlike anything else... I can still see Dickey Betts front and center... really alone... his whole spirit was his guitar, it was his strength and his weakness , it was his song, melody, tone, his sadness, his heartbreak, his joy, his control, his attitude all encompassed into him.... and exploding out of him... As each bend of the notes and he would reach back on his toes, bend his knees and the song just took you.. where ever he was going.. You had no choice you were going... and then there was Lamar and Chuck, Gregg , Butch, JJ... I could just keep writing... I wont because all of you or most of you have had your own experiences... anyhow.. The Allman Brothers Band was where it was at... No doubt about it...
Rick, thanks for the vid, I didn't know that was written by Nillson. Been trying to figure out what my favorite song is by Nillson. Probably one that shouldn't be posted here.
....well Ive been out walkin'....
took a nice walk this morning, heading to coffee and errands. Happy Friday to those here, and Red Dog have been thinking of you.
Hi Rainy 🙂
Good morning all. Let's open our ears for all the good music that seems to be going on all over our great country. The sky in Florida was beautiful last evening, with a hint of autum showing in the clouds.
I think that the healing vibes on this guestbook are real, and will bring good things to those who accept them. Modern medicine is amazing, and so is the power of nature, and the strength of the human spirit. With time and technology, even the Gulf and the marshlands will heal themselves of the poison that infected them. We can learn from that!
OK, now to that Fillmore record....It simply changed my life for the better. And, I lost my virginity during Side 3!! Too much information? Sorry. Have a great weekend everybody!
Anyone heard from Keegan lately?
:dog:Joseph and Gregg healing and positive vibes are heading your way...
Someone sent me this in my email... wise words..
"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain!"
Hey Lizzie :)... yes, I was thinking that yesterday and forgot to add it about TennKev..
So... we hope all is well with you, TennKev.. come on out and say Hello to all your friends here... We miss you... also BSJ Tyler... where are you ? Pam ?
I see Rick found his way back with the help of Three Dog Night..:)
Album picture is one of the best I've ever seen.. we all know what was inside on those vinyl albums.... a change of life... The outside cover front and back was just a preview...
It's Friday, and if you work, that's a good thing.
If you're reading this, you're alive. That's also a good thing.
Peace, love and healing to all.
Where is TennKev, BTW?
Thanks RedDog. The best birthday ever thanks to all the great folks around here. What is important is how are you doing?
I hope you like this quote:
"I was such a dangerous hitter I even got intentional walks during batting practice." Casey Stengel
My brother, the V man. Big happy day to you. I got it in before midnight. I am trusting you had a rosy day.
Here I am! Been doing the Medicaid/Food Stamp shuffle.
Happy birthday to your dad, Rainy.
57 is keeping quiet for a bit. I'm a firm believer that if you let go of expectations, the chances for disappointment are nil. It's not good to have anyone have power over you and I'm no power monger. Y'all are responsible for yourself. I send love and blessings but I gotta take care of #1. I'm a handful!!!
Beautiful music on here in the past day or so. I remember that whole Elvin Bishop album so vividly - used to be on constant play here - Steelin' Watermelons all the time, feel so good I do it ALL THE TIME!!!
Elvin was a hoot on stage!
White Bird in a golden cage. I love it!
Great to see you posting on here, Augie. I have a girlfriend who'se bloodwork just came back much improved after six tough months (she has blood cancer) and she gets the month off from chemo. Just do what they tell ya, sweet baby Dog and you'll get your time off too. Sending you love, prayers and healing vibes, as always. Lizzie
Kimberly, sure hope you have a great time.
Lady with the K and W, I am sure it was me, as somebody was always calling for me. Back then we only had three roadies, one road manager and now they have thirteen roadies and four in Management. So like I said, somebody was always calling your name.
Kitty :waving: I love the play on "Augie Doggie" very creative there Miss Kitty..
PS... Larry is Voador for anyone who didnt know... :birthday: greetings again Voador 🙂
Kimberly... that is a lovely cruise... many years ago.. at least 10 , Tommy Hilfiger did a launch of his new fragrance at that time.. called "Freedom"
It was one of the best launch cocktail dinner parties I went too ...in the business LOL... seriously.,. Ralph Lauren did quite a few on the pier inside corp offices... but the Tommy one was breathtaking... cruising down the Hudson, Statue of Liberty , and the World Trade Centers... with a Full moon on the rise... I loved my job back then...
The other one the sticks in my mind well, two actually.. One ..Ralph Lauren at the Windows of the World ... Trade Center.. was spectacular... and then I believe it was RL again at Rainbow Room... NBC Bldg... but that was only about 2 or 3 weeks after 9/11... that was a tough one.... smoke was still very thick in the air and still bellowing up..
But ..just made me think of it all and thought I would share ....Have a great time Rockin and Rollin on the Hudson, Kimberly..
PS... where is Lizzie ?? and Jim King BS57 ??
AND RED DOG :dog: Augie Doggie hehehe
Rainy 87 huh?? I hope I live that long!!
Happy Birthday to your dad!!
Dan
Happy Birthday, Voador and Rainy's Dad!:birthday:
Also - been listening to rehearsals, etc. of the ABB MTV Unplugged show. I love all the banter between songs. Heard them yell for Augie several times and Red Dog another time. Couldn't help thinking 'bout our Augie Doggie. Love on it's way to ya.
Seems as though music is everywhere... we are going to see Heart tonight at the Ohio State fair...
We are going to the NYC Rockin' the River Boat Cruise with The Radiators, doing both the 7 and 9:30 shows at Pier 83 off W. 42nd St & 12th Ave, NYC...it sure will be a beautiful nite on the East River and then the boat goes up the Hudson River, Statue of LIberty, under all the bridges stuff...some of the money tonite going to charity...
