Mr. Jim looks mighty fine after one hasn't heard him run off at the mouth for about a year. LOL. Nothing personal, Gandhi. You know I'll always love your accent...
The Scituate Chamber of Commerce reports that Dickey has cancelled his performance there on August 7. No reason was given.
Just got a PM from TennKev, and I've decided to nominate him for President of these here Yoonited States! On second thought, I like Kevin.....
Jimbo, are you sure that's your friend, John Howard??? Because he sure looks like Gus off of Breaking Bad..... And if he's Gus, well, I'd be very careful not to cross him....
Thanks for that great video Rainy! It really brightened up my day.
Mitch
Peachmaniac, where are you?
Plugging along, having faith. Tough sometimes, but one has to believe that everything happens for a good reason.
Happy birthday to dear Bluedad. I wish you a very HEALTHY and happy new year.
Yo' Brother Pinto, check your PM's.:waving:
Hey, it's Bluedad's B'day..
:birthday: wishes and a Blue Sky day to you John...
:dog:  :inlove:
Kitty, I wote a bunch of gobbledegook and just erased it. But this is one truly phenomenal cd and I can not recommend it too highly - one of the best cd's of my life for reasons that go beyond how great the music is, which by the way is incomparable. I hope everyone will take a few minutes to watch the video I posted about the making of this production.
By the way, hope you are doing well and getting better every day.
JK - Thanks for the beautiful pic of Susan T. Always great to see her. She's such a talented musician and really great to her fans. I was in an elevator with her last year. She had no makeup on and was wearing her workout attire since she was on the way to the hotel's exercise room. She looked like she was about 21. She was absolutely lovely and very happy to meet a fan. 😎 Also glad that Pinto has bought Revelator. I think it's a great cd, too. 😀
Great day at the beach yesterday with a whole bunch of people. Can't remember last time I spent a whole day with friends. Of course, I failed to sunscreen my upper back and those bra straps are killers.
Hid my cigarettes on myself and did a bang up job. They're nowhere to be found. Even if I buy another pack (and I will) that two or three I won't suck into my lungs this morning.
Wishing you all a blue sky day. Please pray for real estate movement here. I've had one looker and they didn't stay long. Maybe God is waiting for my leg and back to get stronger so I can pack! I hope he pays the mortgage during that period.
Thanks Rowland, everything seems to working now, couldn't log on earlier but no problem now:smokinsmiley:
Sure is hot here in the big city by the lake:flame:
I think I need a bigger AC, like the one Al Bundy had!:cold:
Need a cold one to cooool down:haveabeer:
Hey all -
We had to switch to a new server overnight - most things seem to be working fine but whenever we switch there are usually a few gremlins - so PM me if you run into one!
Best,
Rowland
Great pic, Jim! Thank ya! Go GAMECOCKS!!!!
Nic, have you heard the cd yet? Cuz if you haven't you need to send sweet Pam or one of your kids to the store because you don't want any more minutes than necessary to pass without hearing this! Honest! :jump:  😆 :looney: :mohawk: :realhappy: :reddancer: :yep: 😀 or 😀 :clapping:
Hey Pinto. Pam & I have tix to see the Tedeshi/Trucks band Sunday July 24 in Sylvania Ohio. It will be my first road trip since the surgery!!! We bought the tix prior to everyting getting turned upside down in my life. I am glad we are going and things are beginning to right themselves. I am excited to say the least!!! 😎 We had also seen Susan back in the day. Peach.
She was opening act for the ABB here in Columbia at Township Auditorium, unfortunately just a gig or two before "the fax." I took my son to that show and thought it was fantastic. I thought Betts was better than ever. First time I had ever heard "Tombstone Eyes", which was the song that stole the show for me. Anyway, I was very favorably impressed with Tedeschi that night! I would have married her then and there except I don't know what my WIFE would have had to say about that. No matter, though, because if Gordon Lightfoot had ever walked into the same room with her she'd have probably dumped me like a bad habit. Keep in mind, this has been going on for almost 33 years now, but dang I sure do love that woman!
With much respect to all who are in any kind of suffering and sorrow, if I may bring some good news to the gb, I just got the new cd, Revelator, by the Tedeschi Trucks Band, and am delighted to report this is the best music I have ever heard performed by Derek Trucks. BUT...it's not just Derek Trucks by a long shot. Susan Tedeschi's guitar and singing are worthy of as much raving as I can rave. Add to these two things that they must have 12 or so musicians in this lineup with a textured smooth beautiful production. This is the best cd I have heard in many years. Tedeschi's singing, phrasing, and her voice is so incredible. She's a white woman singing the blues who doesn't try to sound like a black blues singer, yet she has so much soul and emotion and she brings the songs right from her heart. I hope Derek Trucks doesn't waste any more time with the Allman Brothers if he and Susan can produce stuff like this together. His slide is ever present through this cd but he stays home within the blues context and doesn't go wandering off to who knows where. His playing is tight and accessible to the listener. I would put his slide work on this way way up there with the best I've ever heard - not that I'm any kind of expert but I do know what I like.
I guess it's pretty obvious that I am completely blown away by this. Hope this little review will entice a few people to try this but if not, this AWESOME VIDEO about the making of this cd will for CERTAIN!!!!
