Amy's back? Without the wig?
Hey, Folks! PaulR, that is a superb offer for a good cause. I haven't made my donation to Danny yet, but your offer is a great "stimulus plan!" Thanks so much!
Nic, we need that Nashville show for Danny as well. Got any connections for that?
Rainy, I love you folks around here but I just don't have the emotional investment in this never-ending back and forth grudge fest. I try to get all riled up but I just don't care what songs a band plays. I think I'd get a little pissed off if I went to an ABB show and they didn't play any of Dickey's songs. Can you imagine if they went about trying to pretend he was never even there in the first place? And like I've said before, the pettiness displayed by various members of ABB reflects poorly on them, not Dickey. Every single time Claude opens his mouth about Dickey, nobody could fail to realize his rank hypocrisy. Makes me feel sorry for Butch that he is so narcissistic he can't see what a fool he has making of himself. As the saying goes, karma is a ***** and sooner or later instant karma is going to get him - probably in the hereafter because of his professed atheism and his ridicule of people who have faith values. If that is the case, he might not get his comeuppance in this life, but he will soon discover that eternity is a long long time and that he was the fool, not the people and God that he ridiculed.
Geez, such a grey day and in such pain - physical and otherwise. No plans for Thanksgiving. This reinventing oneself is tough business.
What a great offer on the shows from the benefit Paul! I'll be collecting all of the above thank you. ( : . Of course I'm ALWAYS willing to help brother Dan, in ANY way possible.
Got to the benefit as Kettle Of Fish were playing and didn't really get to see their set, but did see RJ from KOF play with Sean Saturday, and he a great player.
Really looking forward to hearing their set.
Speaking of Sean Chambers.... His set didn't come out? ) :
Thanks Nic.
Few can stand and play with Dickey and Dan is one of those few.
Peace,
Tom
Dickey gave Dan the Name Dangerous when the first Great Southern was formed. The reference is he is dangerous with the guitar which we all know is true!!! ๐ Peach.
Thanks Paul for all your efforts.
Does anyone โround here know where Danโs tag โDangerousโ came from?
- A judge?
- A jersey girl?
- ?
Best wishes to Dan,
Tom
Thanks Nic.
Paul what do you have in mind?
I was thinking the price of admission was $20.
Now $20 isnt a lot. Hopefully wont break anyones bank. Too much? Send what you can. Not enough, send what you want.
Put it in an envelope with a note to Dan...... I dont want to know.....
God Bless.
someone send me Frankie B's home address. there is something on my desk for him ๐
Thanks for offering Paulr. You are a good man. Thank God for the tapers!! Now dig deep folks and help a Brother in need.
I hope the benefit in Nashville went well last night. Leroy Parnell, Jimmy Hall and Jack Pearson did a gig for Danny. I heard a rumor Sistabluz was in the house!!!! ๐ Peach.
Also, I think that Dickey has personally moved on , he has his band Great Southern and they are all seasoned and great musicians and Dickey is happy with that. He has had his time in the sun, it was then , he has bathed himself in it and still feels the love from the fans. He and Duane had something very special a connection unmatched. I believe that he knows that at his age in life. He goes out on the road to play music for himself and his fans. Dickey is who he is, as we are all who we are. The so called brotherhood died a very long time ago for the band and with that so did the respect, I exclude out of that Jamioe and Dickey. They remain the same men they once were as young men... Just older , wiser ....
It hurt me once as a fan with The Allman Brothers , I was still thinking for a long time this was the same band.. well, when DB was let go.. the band changed, many like the way they are now.. me, not so much.. This is not saying they are not a great group of musicians.. just not the ones I remember, I have given each equal share and opportunity to see where my heart lies.., It is with Betts and Great Southern not a fact just my personal taste and what my heart tells me is right. It's where the heart and soul of this music lives ,with the original lead guitar player out front, pulling , bending, wrangling with his guitar in a dance of melody and tones no one can duplicate .. copy it but not duplicate it. So once again some of us feel the split.. but as was told to me many many yrs ago on here.. It was a marriage in many ways and they are now divorced and feel no need to speak to each , play music with each other, or even be in the same room with each other , not even for the sake of the grown up children..
Keep Rocking Dickey we love you and all the music you have lovingly given to us , especially on Filmore and Eat a Peach... you rock , baby. We the fans recognize and appreciate your worth..
We Dig Betts ๐
:dog:  :inlove:

It's all about Dan......
Everything sounds A+ fkn fantastic.
Tony, I am in total agreement with you.. Sad on many levels
I agree with Nic on the ABB doing Dickey tunes... but I trust Warren & Derek will do true justice to them...
Hey John. I hope you are doing well. I think they played Blue Sky in Atlanta and Gregg sang it about 5 years ago. I wish they would not play any tunes dickey wrote but there is not a damn thing I can do about it. I do wish they would yield to Dickey on Blue Sky and not play it. Maybe Butch is reconsidering his position on county music? Peach.
As long as Dickey is getting his cut who cares! The big question is who is going to sing Blue Sky and how odd will that be?!
So...the band that calls themselves "The Allman Brothers Band" says they are going to recreate Live at Fillmore East...in its entirety in Philly. "Fillmore & "Eat A Peach" in Boston.
I cannot get over the feeling of continued resentment toward Mr. Betts from this crew as he was a major part these shows...nope...not to invite Mr. Betts is just one more slap to the proverbial face!
I'm sorry to everyone that feels OK with this...for this long-time fan...it is a sham of a cover band!
(((Rainy))) -- it's the same here, & isn't that a good one -- WH Cobb was aturn of the century college professor in Georgia -- the various quotes in the sig line are from a letter he wrote to his son, Ty, who of course later became a famous baseball player
here's another sentence from this Awesomely-worded letter...
"To be educated is not only to be master of the printed page, but be able to catch the messages of star, rock, flower, bird, painting & symphony."
Toward the "symphony" (music ๐ -- change of subject), saw a Real nice show Saturday in Burlington -- "Still Black, Still Proud: An African Tribute to James Brown" -- brass-oriented big band funk at first, then they got into some of James' stuff -- best part, the encore was Pass The Peas, a Maceo song -- Maceo & Pee Wee Ellis still bring the goods -- excellent!! ๐
Have a great Thanksgiving, same to each & everybody on the boards!!
Hey Tyler .. your Lil' Derek already seems to have the chops ๐ we are witnessing the beginning's of a new guitar player... someone famous perhaps... sweet.. Thanks for sharing.. Loved it.
Lizzie  you are not stirring the pot, that is beyond concerning that someone took your name and is using it here to log in... Definitely report to 4umad and Rowland.. immediately..
