I agree with you guys. But just when you think it's peaceful again one of us regulars goes and respond to the trolls again. We need more self control, especially you PastDreams! This is like the tenth time you promised us you would just ignore the trolls and you keep slipping! Oh well one thing at a time lol!
Luke, you've had a tough year and have come through it with increasing wisdom. I have always loved your writing but this piece is beautiful.
So true, we DON'T know what people have been through that have brought them to a place of bitterness and as such, I am going to take your advice and just walk away from the bad vibe going down here.
It's the most difficult thing to do; to turn a cheek to meanness, but it is what we were meant to do as human beings, as caring individuals who may not understand what another has been through to bring them to any certain place.
I hope everyone who celebrated Christmas remembers that what Luke speaks of is what Christmas is all about. Good going, big brother.

Some wise words, brother Luke. Most of the stuff that bothers us is only stuff we let bother us anyway. Why give someone or something else the power to steal your peace of mind? Better to just ignore and pretend like it didn't even happen.
May we all strive this coming year to let the small sh*t in life roll off and down the gutter.It ain't worth it.Let the cards fall where they may.And if it aint to our liking,try and walk away without lookin back.Loved ones(both family and friends)are passing with each and every day.And grudges etc are very bad medicine.Its our choice to harbor anger and hate.Or to let go of jive we have no control over.
The past year has taught me a lot about the vibe we give off and what we receive in return.And have also seen the miracles of GOD over and over.Stirrin up drama and inflicting torment on another persons life is the work of darkness.Yeah we all can sit and think up all kinds of things folks have done both intentional and unknowing to us in our walk here.The thing is we don't know what that person has been thru in their life.Or what kinda trials,heartache etc theyve endured.So if the way someone carried themselves etc doesnt settle with ya just right,WALK AWAY and leave it with them.And then its their note,cross etc to bear,twist and distort.
We are livin in some funky times people.And it aint gonna get no smoother.So many things we will never know the inside scoop on in the evolution of people(both physical & mental),lost civilizations etc.Sh*t they just found Myan ruins in N Ga a little while back.
With all this bein said DONT BE A SHEEP,or carry the mentality of a herded animal etc.Think outside the box & ramble into the cosmos.I know Red Dog did.And man what a special cat he was.Miss him so much!
The song we choose to sing in our walk is our gig.Choose it carefully & hold it close.Just be sure its the one that'll carry ya thru the mountain jams as well as death valley though.

Brothers and sisters, the only thing that is important to me in my life (now that we beat PHLEGMson, of course) is that my beloved Gamecocks beat Nebraska on Monday to win 11 games in a season for the first time in our history. OK, that's not altogether true - I also want West Virginia to beat PHLEGMson. If both these things happen, this will be the happiest holiday season for me of all time. So I ask your prayers, especially from Wayne.

It is with great pleasure at this very moment I can feel the big wheel of life has turned to the next round of folks.... all the way here I can feel the angst, inner despair, and terrified fear of failure that all the young fathers are experiencing trying to assemble very complicated plastic parts toys with micro print instructions that were folded 28 times, and written in 14 languages, with English stuck in the middle of them. And part ZZ123 is FU%^$in MISIING! And it hold the whole subassembly D, thye friggin BASE to the whole top of the stupid pirate ship, and it won't have sails without THAT PART!

Just reading back a few days and I really took offense at Mr. Prine bashing my dear friend Jim for quoting the Bible.
I can't quote word for word because I don't read the good book every day, but I do know that we, as children of God, should treat others as we would have others treat us.
There is something called "the lower power" and that is the doings of the devil himself. Under this evil influence, kind words for a musician and each other are being interspersed with meanness towards the brothers and sisters on this site. This site is dedicated to Dickey but it is a forum FOR HIS FANS. It IS our site. Chances are he has better things to do than read our daily missives to each other. If he did, however, and I believe Donna does pass by once in awhile, I would think he would be angered by the fact that this website is being used as a venue for someone who has a great deal of hate in his heart and wouldn't really appreciate having someone like this as a fan.
A little Bible reading and daily prayer (which I do) keeps us on the path to righteousness. This is His birthday. It is a day of gratitude and love.
Everyone here, with the exception of Mr. Prine, are friends - maybe of us know each other personally and, if not, have developed a love for each other.
I was taught that when tempted to say, do or write something that would hurt another, to stop and say a prayer and ask what God's will is for me. When practiced with an open heart and mind, it has kept me from acting out under the influence of this lower power.
