Howdy from San Francisco :waving:
Pinto, had to laugh also...I will share
Back in the Fall, I got the idea to take my step daughter and her husband to the Biltmore for Christmas. Made all the arrangements, paid for everything.
By the end of the week, I basically had told her husband to...
-Grow Up
-Learn some table manners.
-Grow Up
-What are you going to do with your life.
-Grow Up
Jeeze. We parted ways, and I swore then no more family vacations.
Hey, Kittie! Happy New Year and hopes that the aches and pains of you and your husband will be fully remedied. I think I'm over the trip although not sure if my son and his (ARRRGGHHHPPPPLLLUUGGH) wife are speaking to us for the moment. Those three little boys are 100% precious, though.
Pinto - had to laugh reading your post. Home sweet home can be a wonderful thing. LOL

been "vacationing" with the grandkids. Worn slap out. My whole family is now alienated from itself. How'd that happen? Next time I ain't getting hornswoggled into staying at my son's house - I'm getting a F%^$^&*% motel room! Oh well, it was good seeing everybody but now it's even better to go home sweet home!
Happy New Year!
I know Rainy; I've been thinking about her too as the year comes to a close. So sad. I wish she was still here making music.

Slenderd into my favorite Saloon with my ´38 six string at noon.First i went upstairs to meet Dr.Watson to pay some bills. We had some good talk and i went downstairs for smoke and coffee.Anja was waiting.Next thing, like allways,i made the pianoplayer drunk and pulled out my guitar out off its suitcase and started playing. After a while Mary walked in.Felt like lightning stroke through that guitar so i put it away.Man,i hadn´t seen her for many months and everytime i was too shy just to say a single word. Now i went straight to her and wellcomed her.Sat a while at her table and was still paralized from that lightning.Soon she left.
Anja sat on the poker table making some money and i went back to the players place doing some traditionals.
All the time a gal caught my eye playing with Anja and the local bully.THen i got it.She had won a big contest further north and is a great singer.Anja invited me,so i sat down spending the rest of the evening playing cards.Back home i took my insulin.Twas a southern night and i cooled down with fruit tea.
This is so good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KFlZAvFtFE&feature=related

Sending best wishes to all y'all for a fun filled, healthy happy new year... plug in some best Betts and get your sails out in the wind... life is too short to spend it on a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
anyone who has yet to purchase and listen repeatedly to Michael Allman's CD is denyoing themselves some wonderful thoughts and feelings... trust me this CD is one you won't want to listen to just once... you will enjoy every song and play it numerous times...
I first heard it in May and have heard it hundreds if times since, never tiring of any song only trying to figure out which one I like most...
As much as I loved Gregg's first album Laid Back it ain't as good as his eldest son's... seriously...
Only Dickey and Toy have given me MORE to enjoy... Michael is third and Gregg fourth... the original ABB is fifth...
Pedro, Kach, Frankie, Original MTB, Duane Betts all very close but, well 'nuff said... try it you'll like it !!
Cap'n
( iffen ya don't like it I'll buy it back)
Happy holidays folks. A musical thought here for those of you who are fans of Jorma Kaukonen and Hot Tuna.
Jorma has a blog on his website that I find quite interesting to read--so I'll share the link here. Jorma is an amazing guitarist (Casady is the best bass player I ever saw)--and their jammin' roots and history are in the same spirit of the ABB and DB and GS. Good read, here you go

Hey LUKE, good to see you posting. Good thoughts.
Yeah, the little dunce gnat on this Site is really not on the radar of life. His type are quickly forgotten once they die or move on to some other folly.
I agree with Jim, its kinda hard to stand by and watch an abuser at work to attack a soul less fortunate. Apathy is not in my DNA, so there you go.
I kinda want to stir up the brain this morning, so here is something to really think about. Here goes..
Some Christmas gifts make me wince in disbelief. Yes, there is the cheap cologne, the ugly tie, that sweater that makes you go "Hmmm", and the Ronco anything contraption. But there are supposed "gifts" that, by their nature, go contrary to the ideals of Christmas, and wrapping them in festive paper with a bow just does not make sense in my opinion.
An example of this is someone I know who gave their spouse the loving gift of a handgun for Christmas. Without going into too much detail, the gift choice itself was stupid, given that family dynamic. But the more I thought about it, I considered the entire "Peace on Earth" foundation changing to "Piece on Earth", and I simply have a time getting my arms around that.
And spare me the verbage about the right to own and bear arms. Let me be CLEAR; I own and fully support the right to own a handgun. But as a Christmas gift, really? Is that the appropriate gift? What does it say about the meaning of Christmas?
Good evening to my Dickey Betts family. I hope everyone had a safe & Merry Christmas and that your New Year will be filled with peace, love, good health and great music.
elagrua, really, who do you think you are kidding? We all know you are Prine, so stop with the BS.
Sorry Pinto, I am praying for just the opposite! Go Tigers! Although you should win, Nebraska is a good team on paper but terrible on the field when it matters. Clemson will have a much tougher game against WV. Their coach is an idiot though, so that should turn the game in our favor.
