It was the summer of 1965. My girlfriend and I were in a bar called the Golden Gate Lounge, Cassat Ave., Jacksonville, Fl. The band's guitar player was playing the hell out of a red Gibson. I always wondered if that was Dickey Betts.
How about a new t-shirt with Dickey and his Goldtop!!
Yes please someone update this page so we know how you are doing and your future shows. Also, guitar players want to know what your current and past gear setups are/were?
Dickey, give us another couple of dates! We need your music now more than ever. Peachfest? Scranton PA? The Chance, Poughkeepsie NY? Bearsville, Woodstock?
Dickey...so happy to know that you and GA were in contact prior to his passing and to see you, Duane and David Spero @ his service and burial. Bless y'all! Sure wish you would unretire long enough to do a "farewell" tour for your many fans who love your work and miss hearing you play in person. My thoughts and prayers are with you...much love also!
Just wanted to say nothing has made a difference in my life like music, and I love the Dickey Betts sound. I love slide guitar! God bless through these hard times. Love from Texas, we are thinking of all of yall xx

standing here helping my daddy move around today, thinking about all the old time sayings he always said that he had heard,I guess,"you cant change the spots on a leopard" but, hey life has a lotta spots, doesnt it!!! does that make sense!!!life is good here on the Pasquotank, thank the creator!!! I hope peace is flowing all around you all!!!
Hoping Dickey Betts surprises us with some new music someday. An acoustic roots flavored down home effort would be a great thing. Peace All.....
I hope all are well. I miss the civil conversation and information sharing but not the other. Two years have passed since the last update to this site. Perhaps Mr. Spero could offer an explanation whether the site is idle or just finished. If there's nothing being sold I suppose there's not much need for the paying public. I can also understand any reluctance to update due to the antics of the past. I know that most are dedicated Dickey Betts fans with good intentions. Fare well all.
