Good Old Sunday Morning :sunny:
Walter sounds like a good show... MTB opened up for DBGS @ Westbury here on L.I. a few yrs ago and they were very good.. Doug 's voice was strong , but I think I thought what you did.. Still has it thou..
I am watching ( at this on godly hour on a Sunday morning ) Palladia Chanel and group called Blackberry , might actually be Blackberry smoke.. they are very good and very reminiscence of all the southern bands from the 70's alittle of everything .
Looking forward to DBGS..next Sat.. Oh MY can't wait..

Last night on my way home from work ..it was late after 11 pm ...live streaming on Deep Tracks from Wanee and ABB were on and Gregg was not singing.. I think it may have been Jimmy Hall at one point..
Someone mentioned he had hernia surgery a few weeks ago and maybe he is still recovering from that.. and can not sing as it might cause a strain.. not sure..
Hope all have a Blue Sky Day today an everyday... 🙂
Lizzie  we need to talk soon..
:dog:  :inlove:
MTB was very good and I'm glad to say that Doug sings a lot better than I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, he's nowhere near the younger Doug Gray, but he sounded respectable. Of course, with Chris Hicks there to help out and the new Flute/sax guy, Marcus Henderson, the singing side of the band was pretty good.
The highlight of the day was this evening's performance by Rob Crosby at the Riverfront Amphitheater. In fact, I don't know how to say how great that show was, but it was fantastic.
So for a change, Columbia, SC, has got some great music this summer. Randall Bramblett is coming on May 12, and I know that is going to be a great show, too.
Thhe turnout for our pancake breakfast for brother Dan was fantastic. The Wanee famly knows how to do it........ God Bless :sunny:
I am talking about the german ABB video
Hey, Dan! Check pm's!
I was at this show and I have the complete show on dvd if anyone is interested.
Dan

Hope you all are havin' a happy Friday!!!! 🙂 Smoke 'em if you got 'em!!! 😎
get your sailbags on the deck my friend, gettin my sails in the wind,
rewind to 1972, I was 16 and a half..... big sis took me to old Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey to see The Band. We had played the hell out of Music from Big Pink and it's follow up, The Band. The most amazing thing to me, that they played all the songs EXACTLY like the studio versions. That's how spot on these guys were, seasoned pros having toured with The Hawk, Ronnie Hawkins, playing the southern juke joints with chicken wire in front of the stage..... and all studio vets.... so for them to get on stage and do perfect renditions was to me amazing. The harmonies were pure Americana, it was Roots music before anyone coined the term.... I miss Rick Danko so much, and Richard Manuel, who's falsetto could break your heart..... and now The Up On Cripple Creek man, dear Levon. If you don't own it, go buy Music From Big Pink. It really doesn't get any better. Take A Load Off Annie......
Sad to report that Levon Helm passed away today from cancer - RIP
Sending (((((Prayers and healing vibes))))) out to JK's dad....Hang in there brother...we wish you the best...
Thanks Pinto, Rob sure can sing.
And we will not be coming to Columbia Saturday for the shows, I completely forgot it is prom weekend, so we will be taking pictures and helping out.
Watching that first video on the home page, I swear it seems like Duane Betts sounds more like Dickey Betts than Dickey Betts. What a player!
Jim, seconds to Kevin on sentiments to you and your family. Rainy, my mother also believes strongly in angels. I've never had any encounter such as you described but I never dismiss the power of God to work His will on this world and I have both realized in real time that God was speaking to me through another person and realized weeks or months after the fact that God was speaking to me through another person. Maybe those people were or are angels... that's something to ponder.
:freaked: Wow, that is really, really cool Rainygirl. I woulda been a little shocked/freaked out too, but what an interesting experience. You've always been such a kind, sweet, & caring person to all of us, I'm glad you've got an angel(s) that is lookin' out for you.
Hang in there Mr. King. I can only imagine what you and your family are going thru, but know that we are all sending lotsa love, prayers, and vibes to Big Papa King, and all of you guy's and we are hopin' for the best.
