I played an outdoor gig a couple of weeks ago and the sound guy played my copy of The Allman Brothers Band-Legendary Hits. It was so cool to hear those tunes crankin' through the PA, It was kinda surreal lookin' around seein' everyone groovin' to the Brothers. I hadn't heard some of those tunes in a while and it was just cool!. Rememberin' why the Band was so great back in the day.

Just to avoid any confusion, when I say sh*t stirring nut jobs, I mean Prine regardless of what name he decides to go by for the day.

Unfortunately, sh*t stirring nut jobs are hard to forget. Good to see ya postin' Rick. Hope all is going well. Always diggin' that Betts music, but would dig it a lot more if he would take that kung fu back on the road and come to Va. & Carolina. Anyone heard how Ms. Dona Maria is doing? Hopefully getting better each day. Hope all you cats are doing ok.

Good Morning.. Yes, its been awhile. Its been awhile and so coming back here was sad and interesting at the same time. The great freedoms we enjoy are due to so many here; even Prine contributed. And as much as I cannot tolerate his mental instability he was documented as a part of that collective military, but, with the caveat I acknowledge his service, not honor it. The true test is to compare the actions of Red Dog to the history of Prine, and enough is enough. My point is as I read the passions of people here, it is about the music of Betts. That is why we (used) to come here anyway. I think a few dont think that anymore; its their plance to bitchh and carry on. So be it. And of course I will be flamed for being here, which I don't care, and my political views don't really matter, and Claude is Claude, and Prine continues to blather. Those cycles here dont change too much. But to those that still find honest pleasure in Betts music, I say sip your coffee and enjoy what you can. Thanks

My drawl is a work in progress. The other day I said "niiiiice" to a girlfriend. She laughed and laughed and said "see, we're gonna git ya without ya even knowin' it". By God, she's right. I don't know if "do what now" will ever come naturally, but the day it does is the day I know my speech pattern has made a major change.

I am SO looking forward to Friday. It's true; we all seem to have good seats in "the pit" so I plan to get there as early as possible to locate and give hugs to the friends who have stood with through thick and thin. John, please warn your lovely wife that we might be making goo goo eyes during Please Be With me - if we can see each other. I always appreciated your concert calls and they made me feel connected all these years I was "out of pocket" (and out of my mind, sometimes, too!). I hope the political discourse on this site disappears; we're like any family that has it's differences, except it's much easier to sling at people over the internet as opposed to the dinner table. I want to offer an invitation to my friends who come to Maconga over the weekend who have trouble affording a place to stay, want to just visit (BYOB/J is OK), or maybe shouldn't be driving after A Lotta Coladas. Message me if you want my phone #. I'm 5 minutes, from Rose Hill, the Big House and downtown. Thanks to Miss Terry for bringing us the music we haven't heard in years. You rock, my friend, and I'm sure grateful you got out of the insurance business. Love and peach and a special hello to the LI Crew - Rainy, Pat, Mitch, Barb and not forgetting Andy Aledort

I watched the Souther Rock Saga Savannah posted on the ABB site. I had seen most of it before but I watched the entire presentation this morning. Wow talk about bringing up some old memories. There was a rather large club in Jacksonville in the early 70's called Sgt Peppers and that was a smoking Juke Joint to say the least. I saw some good band there and our local rock heros would stop by from time to time. By then Skynyrd was touring with the Who and had signed a record deal. Jacksonville is actually the home of the birth of Southern Rock as some like to call it IMHO. Those were the good ole days!!! A lot of big acts in the south such as MTB and CDB were playing Jax on a regular basis. Hell, these are the good ole days. Look at how many of those bands that came out of the south are still out there tearing it up. Man I sure could use a good live show!!! 😎 I hope you all going to Atlanta have a Goodtime!!! Peach.

hey, 'sis', you have no idea what I believe nor do I care. Take your insulting bigotry and hate to the other site. It is people like you that ruin this site. Go away. Rock on DB&GS!

I tend to get wound up listening to the side I disagree with so I will remain silent. I like the GB much better when it is focused on DB and the music. Thats just my opinion.

yes, it's all his, and growing. This is his war, his responsibility, his bloody hands. His escalation, his denying troops the needed supplies and equipment. No one to blame this time around but him.

If you have children. love em everyday, as much as you can. When they have to go to war and you hug them as they leave, it is very hard. obamas death toll is over 6,457 dead. End this senseless war now. Our fathers and sons, mothers and daughters should not be dying for politicians.

pinto, the second half of Mountain always gets me too. Might be my favorite piece of ABB music. A band down in Macon played it perfectly at the Skydog Jam last year. Many of us were crying.... GHANDI...I still have your celly! I am taking my cell phone regardless..:) Now Chastain is proud of their alcohol. $11.00 for a 24 oz beer. I can't imagine what drinks are. I am driving so I'm going to be a good little boy and abstain. BDOB, his daughter, my wife and I will be travelling together. Day trip for us with no overnight. It wil be good to see our Queens friend in ATL...:)

Thanks Brother Steve!!! I so much Love seeing all my Brothers up on that stage. What a great tune!!!! I must say that band may be my favorite live act I ever saw. Pam and I spent a lot a time with those cats back in 2001 and that band was really good. We actually got to know Mark May's Mother and Father having met them on a metro train in Cleveland in 2000 after a gig. They lived in Columbus. In 2002 when ddt joined up things really took off!!! Danny seemed to have the ability to get the best out of each player as he had done in the Gregg Allman Band for so many years. I'm sure Dickey also deserves some of the credit. haha Kris Jensen just wailed on that horn and the entire band just smoked!!!! I have the distinct honor of turning Kris on to King Curtis. Kris knew of King but I gave him some live shows and Kris was floored by his playing. Brother Dave Stoltz is my kind of bass player. I am glad Kris and Dave are playing with Jaimoe. I stay in touch with quite a few of those cats still today. One of my favorite things to do while in the Sarasota area is to check out Frankie Lombardi at one of his live gigs. I am Blessed and I Love them all very much. 😎 Peach.
