BlueSky, hope Mr Betts is playing in a GTO Judge someday 🙂 Hey, selling one of my birds so I can build a vroom vroom engine for the other 🙂
Hey there everyone!
Had a dream about Brother Dickey a few days ago! So stoked the spirit of his music is still with me even though he has stopped touring. I hope Dickey knows how much his music means to his fans and how important it is in our lives. I know mine would not have been the same! So grateful for all the years of incredible music he has given us. 😀
Genuine Since '69....

Amen to that Derek quote about BB King. I felt the same way, but couldn't really verbalize it.
"Crescent City" is a great tune. We covered it in my recently deceased band. Emmy Lou does a wonderful version.
Thanks for posting that quote from Derek Bluesky Johnson . Derek knows and it must burn Claude's ass to read that stuff from his nephew! I am sending out a shout out to Dickey to do an acoustic tour. I would pay top dollar for that and travel hundreds of miles to see it. Here's a thought, Dickey and Jerry Jeff Walker in an acoustic tour. Just my dream hearing two of my favorites do some of their classics along with a few vintage Billie Joe Shaver songs and maybe some Guy Clark songs!
Howdy all!
Had to share this velvety smooth live version of Dawes covering Lucinda's "Crescent City". Taylor and Duane are coaxing some very beautiful sounds out of a couple of very old looking guitars. I know the Tele is old, and Duane's pickups and spider cracks look absolutely vintage.
I'm digging this combination, but hope to see some Dickey shows coming soon.
Hope you all are well.

Listening to Beacon July 26, 06 show right now.."High Falls " is one of my all time favorites! What a way to start the festivities !
Amen
A BIG AMEN to what everyone is layin' down on the GB. Hope everyone is doing OK.
Hey Dickey, Sorry about your brother, man. I just lost one myself to cancer 3 weeks ago.
I'd like to ask you to contact Diane Leaptrot, my sister-in law and former Capricorn secretary. She loves you so much and it would thrill her beyond imagination. She is in late stage cancer living in Utah.
You don't know me but you know my face. I grew up in Macon...enuff said. 40 concerts give or take. (I remember the Juliette River rat show in '76) and we live in Juliette in the woods now.
Please contact me at this e-mail address and let's talk.
Your Big Fan,
Larry Leaptrot (The Bull) (I am in the phone book too) Brave, huh?
Thanks for the quote Muleman1994! Dickey IS a class act! I'm sure he has been humbled by many of the folks he's shared the stage with that also inspired him.
I like what Derek Trucks said about BB in a recent interview with Rolling Stone....
"He just had that spirit. He was here to give, and he gave a lot. I know towards the end, people were complaining about some of the shows and my thought was always, "You're lucky to be in a room with this man. Pay your respect." I'd pay to see him 'til the last second just to be around him. " - Derek Trucks
What Derek said is exactly how I feel about Dickey and is why I keep going to shows. I hope someday Dickey gets his due for all of the incredible things he has done. He inspired so many as well......
Happy Friday everyone!
😎
X2 🙂
And he said...
Well a milestone for me was when I sat in with BB King at the Fillmore West. Just when I had thought that I had reached the pinnacle of everything I would ever do, I got to play with him. You know, we had made maybe one record at that point so that was really something.

Brother Betts is a class act.
Been listening to searching for simplicity lately! It sounds really good up on the hillside in the woods!!!
Kind of bird whew, thanks!!!
Dickey Betts is quite the archer, bringing the meat home, saw a young otter running the riverside up in Cherokee last weekend!!!
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. Forever grateful to the folks who fought and died for us. Thank you....
