Great to hear Dickey and Derek playing together! So sorry I wasn't there.
Thanks to Derek and Susan for inviting my favorite guitar player to join them at The Beacon Theater.
People can you feel it!
Mitch
thanks for posting rainy..
got chills during Dickey's solo and thought of Nic and Buppalo..
bravo derek and susan
:a-ok:
Seldomly visit here any more, but what a pleasant surprise to check in Sunday and see what took place at the Beacon Saturday. Tremendously classy move for Derek and Susan to extend the invitation, and an equally classy gesture on Dickey's part to accept it. I must have watched the videos a dozen times, and get a tear in my eye every time ; so great to see Dickey ripping it up on stage with world-class musicians, especially at the scene of so many of his great performances. Dickey is one of the last of the links to that bygone era that arguably developed and defined a whole genre of music - D.B., a bona fide certified, bad-ass American musical icon.
Wow.
Great videos and great feelings from watching these videos. Dickey looks so jazzed and happy to be playing with Derek, and the ovations were so deserved. Derek and Susan are great musicians and fine people to invite Dickey.
Rainy mentioned the offstage scene with Duane and Pedro watching Dickey and that is such a poignant observation. Very touching moments.
I was traveling for most of the week last week including a few days of the beach, and promised myself no phone no computer. So I log in last night and see something very cool. It is truly truly a delight to not only see the class that Derek et al extended to Dickey, even more class that he changed his travel plans to make it happen. Perfect.
It is also continued pleasure to see the new normal here on this GB. Congrats to the mods for their work.
So Good to see Dickey On the Road again... This Band Rocks, they are at a PEAK ! Wish I could afford Chicago and Indiana
Lotto Ticket Time ?
You got that right Rainy! That video sure does hit the note...on many levels!
Pedro wrote this Sunday morning on his Facebook page...
"Farewell NYC. Thank Derek and Susan for all the kindness at The Beacon and after and thank you Dickey Betts for bringing that house down one more time the way you know how to do so well."
If you ask me...they are all class acts!
Looking forward to seeing them this Friday! Dickey is RED HOT! 😎
In watching this video Blue Sky.. it is very emotional on many levels.. but the thing that just really got me was watching Pedro and then Duane stepped over to watch his pop.. from the left side of the stage.
Pedro was into Dickey , watching and listening to his every cord and his voice.. as was Duane.. I swear Pedro Loves Dickey as much as Duane.
It is so nice to see this family and their love for each other..
Yeah :clapping:
:dog:  :inlove:
The man is on a ROLL......would love him to throw me his guitar pick
Kimberly what a night that musta been... full moon outside, autumn in the air , TTB and a surprise guest DB and Duane... Oh My :inlove:
Derek and Susan the crème of the crop extending a loving invitation to Dickey Betts... Life is good.

Heard from somebody at the show who sat down in the orch That when they looked up at the loge and Balc. they did not see any mics hanging down. Lets hope that somebody taped last nights show for all to hear.

BLACK ELK
Good ol Sunday morning!!
Yesterday I watched a few clips of Rock In Rio (my wife is Brazilian). Bruce, Bon Jovi, John Mayer. I made fun of how all the girls in the crowd were crying their eyes out to these guys. As I watched the videos of Dickey with TTB this morning I gotta admit It choked me up. Now I have a huge smile on my face that wont go away. Thank you Derek and TTB to be the first to offer a little "Peace Love And Understanding"
and please a friendly reminder, leave Moderating to the MODS. taking digs at fellow posters is the beginning of the squabbles. one can state an opinion without naming others as being incorrect. thinly veiled digs not OK either.
THANKS, and I am not asking everyone to hold a candle and sing We Are The World 🙂
