Rainy, you have eloquently wrote what many of us feel. My musical heroes included Lennon, McCartney, Dylan, and I had a big interest in John Fogerty that made me absorb the sound of the guitar. Then, along came that band, and those indescribable instrumentals!
Mr. Dickey Betts sits atop of the pedistal of my favorite musical humans, and he always will.

It's been over 40 yrs that I have been a huge fan of Dickey Betts. Through out my lifetime I have admired other musicians, artists, and entertainers but never anyone as much as Dickey Betts. I never go to other websites or shows like I have for Dickey Betts either when he was with the ABB or DBGS. He has brought into my life much joy and pleasure with his music and I am Thankful to him for that.
He has been blessed with this talent and I am one of the many fans who are so appreciative that his talent was discovered for all to hear, he has touched so many with music , his own compositions, his melody's, his own style. All in the Dickey Betts way.
Even trying to express the unexplainable feelings is a hard task for me. I think the common denominator in all of this is ~his fans ~. We get it . They understand totally what I am trying to express better than anyone else.
So Thank you Dickey for all the music you created and shared with all your fans. No one does it better than you.
My personal wish for you is a Happy Healthy Birthday and Blue Sky day are being sent your way today and always to enjoy.

Best wishes for 70 years of fulfilled living to you, my favourite guitar player. Your mu-sic is accompanying my life since I heard for the first time Ramblin’ Man and Jessica in the 70’s and explored the body of your work afterwards. I am not as eloquent as a native US fan but please accept my humble words. I am particularily grateful for your tours in Germany in 2008 and 2012 and, thanks to Andy, being able to share some hours with you backstage in Hannover and Nürnberg. I wish you a happy birthday sur-rounded by your family and lots of happy years to come!
