Moon IS old but otherwise healthy and gained .33 lbs since his arrival 9 months ago.....Little Annie has gained .5 lbs.....they are a joy but also a bittersweet reminder......

Yes, for all the years he played w/Warren, & the others he's played with in his 70 years -- those 2 1/2 years w/Duane still stand out to me as the most simpatico easy going organic guitar playing ever in this band -- they were brothers, that made it so amazing -- as did Mr. Oakley

I cannot take credit for the pics... stargazer and about 5 other professionals were there...along with 400+ camera phones.... vids galore too.
SPECULATION/RUMOR/HEAR-SAY:
Dickey not only does these FUNdraisers for free, he often PAYS to fly in the rest of the band, reimburses everyone ( mgt, crew, bandmates, drivers, caterers, venue,etc ) as if it were a real paying gig... it is done as a business deal and his corp likely gets tax deductions, i can't say...not being an accountant...
Point being, the man has not been playing for the money since the fax... he still gets royalties, i'm sure...and 25 % of any profit ABB may "show" but from what i understand... RUMOR/Speculation... The JOY of playing, exposure and income for son, daughter, staff, crew, bandmates... and the travel ( Donna being a Jersey girl and the NYC draw, Cruises... Kach, Frankie both from CT with family there...Andy being NYC.. well ya get my drift )
Remember too he has friends like Derek & Susan, Dave Mason/Burton Cummings, even Kid Rock...lmao... sooo i again would guess he likes to get out on the road once in awhile

Had a dream the other night I was hangin' out with Dickey and his son Duane! Can you tell I listen to too much Dickey! LOL I wouldn't have it any other way!
Thanks Capn for posting all the awesome pics from Dickey's B-Day! That had to been quite a show to be at! And what I like most about it was that Dickey did it for free! All you needed to do was bring a toy that would go to the less fortunate this Christmas. Talk about a class act! This is why I love the man!
So grateful that I discovered his music and got to learn more about the cat in the hat! As Pedro said...the last of the TRUE OUTLAWS!
