Pinto, I'm sorry Bro, but I don't know why that makes you so angry. A lot of people feel that way. A lot of people prefer the current version. Most prefer the original w/ Duane. I like the Dickey/Warren combo the best. Everyone is different. I didn't see anything in peachmaniac's post that was mean spirited towards Derek, Warren, or anyone that likes the newest version.
My apologies to the good folk on this site for todays drama. I enjoy the website family on this site. But, if admin/moderators ever feel the need to ban me, I would understand and comply w/ that decision.

The Allman Brothers Band has always been about the two contrasting styles of Gregg and Dickey. I enjoy seeing GAF because I know what to expect. The current ABB is a great band but it just doesn't move me like the pre 2000 ABB did. Dickey alone is not as good as Dickey with Gregg and vice-versa. Warren and Derek are amazing guitarist who try their best to recreate the magic. There is no substitute for the duo of Dickey and Gregg and the vibe that created. I'm grateful for having witnessed it many times!

Bottom line........I like music that moves me to dance. Just like at Macon if you recall. The current ABB does not move me to dance and when I go to a live concert event, I like to dance.
I'm not the only one who feels that way.
And for the record, I love a lot of music. CCR, The Doors, Clapton and Cream, SRV & DT, Santanna etc. etc.
Because I tried to support both bands for many years. But after a while of getting beat to death and not being moved to dance because of what they were playing, plus the setlists, plus the eventual realization that w/o Dickey it doesn't swing for me.
Dude, I'm glad you like them and do not begrudge anyone from liking them. They are an extremely talented bunch, but it just don't work for me.
But to tell me that I haven't listed to it or that the only reason I don't like it because of how they did Dickey is just totally WRONG!!
Kevin, I definitely wasn't trying to tell you what to like or not like and there is not a single implication in my post which would indicate that. However, you were trying to say that what I like is not good. That's why I responded. I did fail to take into account that you would spend probably a few thousand dollars to repeatedly go see a band you don't like, however. Doesn't seem too logical to me.
I realise you dislike it when someone on a Dickey Betts website busts on the current ABB. But, now it appears you don't like it when someone has a different opinion of them than you do.
You know what? This is a Dickey Betts website not the ABB website and not everyone loves the current ABB like you do and everyone deserves to have an opinion and speak on their opinion.
I never said Derek sucked. I never said Warren sucked. I didn't blast them llike Dickey is so often blasted on both websites.
