Good evening. Just stopping by to say Hey to everyone :waving:
Don't know what sparked it but I've been thinking of our brother Nic a lot lately. What a truly beautiful soul he was and an inspiration to me.

Maura in 1989 with a familiar sounding dobro...

I used to be a huge Maura O'Connell fan several years ago and have seen her perform 3 times. The last time I know Jerry Douglas was there. That was I believe where I first became aware of him but the indispensable, Strength In Numbers - Telluride Sessions cd is when I realized he was a superstar. That is one of those cd's that I could could not bare to part with.

Keep Smiling, Life is Good !!!
"Only one life that soon is past; Only what's done with love will last."
Thanks for the Maura OConnell clip.
That was fantastic! 🙂
Good afternoon,
That Duane tune is maturing very nicely. His singing is more confident now it seems. I would love to hear him sing some of his Dad's tunes someday.
Yes, Mr. Jerry Douglas moved the dobro into the mainstream. He has some increadable solo records, as well as all of his session work. I first heard the beautiful voice of Maura OConnell on Jerry's records, and this is one from "The Transatlantic Sessions". A young Jerry backs Maura on Mr Garcia's "Blue Train", while my dream girl (Nanci Griffith) puts extra gravy on the background vocals.

Stay warm everybody...spring is just around the corner!
Some people claim he is the best dobro player in the world!
We all know the original can not be approached but this is beautiful, peachmaniac. Thanks for telling me about it.
