****** RSB SUCKS ******
Pedro toured with Devon Allman in support of his solo album, Turquoise, and is mentioned prominently in the credits and as one of the main contributors along with Yonrico Scott. They all - Devon, Pedro, Duane B, and BO, Jr - appear to be very good friends. Wouldn't it be something if they all merged their talents into a supergroup? I wish they could keep Cyril Neville, Yonrico, and the Royal Southern Brotherhood bass player as well....Wooten is his name I think. They could call it Royal Southern Brethren of the Coast!
Mark02 - thank you so much for posting that link to the April 1979 show - it is awesome!!
I am so glad I saw Dickey in August!
thanks for all the great memories... it was the Enlightened rogues tour that I first met Red Dog, -=DDT=-, Bonnie and gregg PEGASUS in particular (along with the killer versions of ramblin man) was what got me hooked.... saw 50 more shows between 79-82... and about 100 from 83-93 ( GAB, DBB, ABB)
Pedro and Berry TONIGHT !!
( who knows who will show up... last time it was Michael Allman to sing Melissa, Midnight Rider and Soulshine)
HAPPY FRIDAY !!
bayoubluesrat, please check your pm's!
Jonesy, I caught 'em at Carowinds near Charlotte, and the setlist doesn't have it listed but I clearly remember a version of Jessica with a great B3 solo in lieu of piano. That and Pegasus are about the only things I remember except it was terrific. Certainly not the ride home.
Oops..not Ed, it was Mark02. here is the link

Y'all should watch that 4/20/79 ABB show that Ed posted below (I was at that show, but that's not the reason!)
First--Dickey is just unbelievable. Watch Ramblin Man. Dickey's solo at the end is so intense and so melodically great to listen to. He has the band mesmerized while he's playing. At this point it is clear that this is Dickey Betts' band and Dickey's confidence shows through, unlike earlier post Duane years.
Funny observation--as Ed pointed out, they play "hey bartender" with John Belushi sandwiched in between Pegasus, which is really weird. But after Belushi is done, Dickey doesn't even acknowledge him leaving the stage, he's right back into Pegasus. Funny to me at least....
Oddity. No One Way Out.
Great show, have fun.
By the way Pintobean, i was also at the DB and GS reunion concert with the ABB in Central Park in 1978. That was somethin...
David Goldflies' solo is just another highlight of that Pegasus/Hey Bartender -- just great playing & tone -- he does BO & Lamar proud
Talk about unsung heroes, what about Denaney Bramlett? He left an absolutely giant musical imprint.
SURPRISE!

As always, Ed steps it up! Never seen GA so animated. He comes running out onto the stage, grinning and actually interacting with the audience. I get that's what Coke can do for ya!
And HOLY COW! DELBERT McClinton comes on to play some harp and sing on Will The Circle Be Unbroken!
In that same show you can watch ABB start with Pegasus, segue into Hey Bartender sung by JOHN BELUSHI, and back to Pegasus!

What a great video! I remember when I heard the ABB were reuniting and how much anticipation I had to get my hands on that Enlightened Rogues album, which I think is top tier ABB. It was almost like a beam of light in a collapsed mine shaft considering how the second half of that decade had been shanghaied by disco.
Thanks Mark! That's a keeper!

Voador, you continue to amaze! Yeah, MTB's one of many iconic bands that have been jilted by the HOF - Poco, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and gazillions more, so I don't feel quite as bad about MTB. The HOF ain't no big deal anyway. Some of the people they've inducted make the whole thing a joke.
Not only have the Moody Blues been overlooked for the HOF - they haven't even been nominated (as far as I know). Of course the Sex Pistols and the Beastie Boys (HOF electees) made a greater contribution to R&R (rolls eyes).
Agree with you, Voador, but don't forget the Marshall Tucker Band. Why in the hell hasn't at least the original MTB been included? That really gets my gourd...ha ha http://youtu.be/fGkRbEfQUSE
