“playing some dickey shows from the old lone star cafe in NY”
Oh yea. That 11/01/1988 show was my first B&P courtesy of Tom Seeks.
I had seen the band at The Bayou in Georgetown a night or two before which was my introduction to Warren and Matt.
Not long after The ABB was back with the new lineup and the next few years, past the original band, is my favorite.
The memories still play today!
Tom
Hope everyone had a nice weekend, was playing some dickey shows from the old lone star cafe in NY the weekend. Highway call is on deck. Enjoy the music and always the best to you Dickey Betts.
Go heels!!!
Muleman1994...Read your post. Would love to see Dickey out on the road with just him and his acoustic in an intimate setting .
Been listening to the odean show...for a little thousand seat hall Dickey blew the roof off! Side note saw Gov't Mule there too!!! both shows were stellar!
Butch Trucks and the Freight Train Band.... Check them out they are amazing!!!!!!
I re-listened to the Dickey, Warren and Woody 04/14/1996 acoustic thing from the RnR HoF.
Dickey with an acoustic guitar is something everyone should have the privilege of experiencing. My oh my.
Peace & Get Behind The Mule,
Tom
What's happening ! I been down here working in Florence,sc for three weeks now working for my company! In the motel room watching a good movie, having a few, all the pretty horses is movie!!!
Lukestar, I know where you are coming from!!! It seemed like there was an unnecessary hate filling the old great website! Maybe they could merge the two!!! This new site has helped me reminisce about all the good times dickey gave us and how lucky we are! How lucky was I to shake your hand, it wouldn't of happened if not for dockets music! Hope to see you soon!!!
Hope Dickey has some dates up his sleeve this year!
8 minute ride. Bronco betts!!!
Tangled up in blue, what a trip to travel out and hear this live out there!!! It was magical!!
Shoulda left the site like it was. This is kinda drab and boring feeling.Just my 17 cents
I'm so thankful that I was born in an era with such an amazing amount of great music.
I'm thankful that Dickey Betts was part of the same era and gave us works of art that never get old or boring.
Thanks for the info, Capn. Please let us know if any of those charity appearances come up. Dickey retiring is a tough pill to swallow, but I wish him all the best.
We lost another great one with the passing of Paul Kantner. RIP to the pilot of The Jefferson Airplane.
This is a cool quote:
“Jefferson Airplane had the fortune or misfortune of discovering Fender Twin Reverb amps and LSD in the same week while in college".-Paul Kantner
I like it
"Thank you for your entry.
We will review it and unlock it in a short while."
An excellent upgrade.
When you need a pick-me-up form the 30 plus inches of global warming in your driveway, pull out a DB&GS show and crank it up!
Sure miss getting to see Dickey out on the road...
Hope his is doing well...His music will live forever.
Nice!!!
